Here's my look at trying to make the cafe racer dream.

full

For character naming's sake, the dude here is Graham, meant to tribute Lemmy Kilmister.

This is the most minimal I can get out of the Esskey. But I think there's a slashed exhaust pipe, and I placed a front tyre guard.

The new ban/suspension policy that Rockstar put out is really not filling me with hope with their next online installment of the series (maybe even RDR :indiff:). I will say that I've been enjoying Online since the chaos that was October 1st, 2013, but since the last few updates it lost the fun it had during its earlier stages. I'll go as far to say that Heists was their best and last good update IMHO. Maybe even along with Cunning Stunts. While the more recent updates had pretty good content, they jacked up the prices as usual to sell more Shark Cards;
Cargobob 2014: $185,000
Cargobob 2016: $1,790,000

Not really the best comparison since it was purchasable with the SP price tag, but it just goes to show how much they cared about selling Cards. Besides the astronomical inflation, there's also a laundry list of bugs/glitches that they've straight up ignored or introduced. Some being a minor nuisance and others being close to gamebreaking.
To finish this off I'll say that if I do get banned/suspended, then I won't care, as I've been driven away from Online.

But after that little rant all I have to say is, it's a shame to see their greed has gotten the best of them.

There is a bypass to the money wipe out there, and it does work. You do have to perform the glitch each time you go online, or change lobbies, or swap characters. It's rather cumbersome.

Once you accept the money wipe black screen alert, the money is gone. If you haven't done that yet, the bypass workaround will be effective for you. You can then fill your garages with expensive cars to sell, buy everything, and then accept the alert if you don't want to have to glitch online each time(until they patch that, too) and that way you can at least salvage some. 60 expensive cars on two characters, 10 expensive bikes on each, and buying everything else game will leave you with a built up character with well over 100mil in car bonds.

My main character is safe anyway, but I have another PSN that recieved money back on PS3 that I mostly use for checking out the new stuff before spending the money on my main account. I decided to play around with it tonight and see if I could salvage it, which I did.

FWIW, I spent about 467 million in just under 2 hours on a character I just created, and I still haven't spent on a dime on clothing, Biker Businesses/upgrades, masks, weapons, or building vehicles. I expect to spend another couple hundred million tomorrow to ensure both characters on that PSN are loaded up. That really demonstrates how expensive it is to experience all the game has to offer. Half a billion doesn't even cover two fully equipped characters...

If you're looking for a cheaper Halloween themed vehicle, at least the Franken Stange is coming back.

I still remember finding it in a lowrider meet.

It is utterly ridiculous how expensive things are in this game. Almost half of everything of worth I have purchased online, the yacht, expensive cars, Hydra, rhino, property and even clothes have mostly been bought with glitched money while the other half has been bought thanks to grinding.

There seems to be a few times a year when you can stock up on free money thanks to a glitch. If it weren't for these glitches I would have abandoned the game years ago. I play for fun, little bit of gunplay, little bit of role play, some races and less about missions. The cost of things and the amount of grinding is completely against the reasons why I pay so I for one enjoy the glitches, it's just a matter of not pushing it too far and getting greedy.

When Red Dead 2 is released it will happen all over again.....and then comes GTA6....Red Dead 3....etc then before we know it we are all old and have spent about 25 years of our life grinding for that 2 million dollar T-shirt.

I hope none of you lose any glitched money.

PS, I think with future games I'll be more likely to buy shark cards or the red dead equivalent. I can't spend three years grinding just to be able to have a bigger E penis. I know many will never give in to shark cards, I get it, I hate it too but my time is more valuable now than the principle of it.

I don't believe anyone is losing glitched money acquired via dupe sales or similar. I think it is limited to 'modded' money that was applied to the account manually, or 'gifted' money from modded lobbies on the older gen systems and then transferred to current gen. AFAIK, people can still transfer modded accounts to current gen, just not with a billion dollars like before. I think more 'believable' limits are going through. I have two other modded PSNs from the old days that didn't get the message, but they are both down below 75mil now. They transferred in with 99mil at the time, as there used to be a cap and people were getting banned trying to transfer 101mil. I believe they pulled that cap close to a year ago after people began to complain about getting banned for transferring legitimate accounts greater than 100mil. There are people out there with legitimate accounts in excess of 800mil now, and policing the mods vs. legitimate money is only going to become more difficult going forward. If I didn't spend most of my time staring at sunsets and such, I'm sure I could have made well over 1 billion legitimately in the past 3 years looking at my embarrassingly high 'time spent online' stat haha. A lot of that was spent idling on the couch watching tv, though.

Unfortunately for R*, these actions, much like the great cash wipe of 2014 only serve against them. People who have modded accounts weren't shark card customers, and they aren't going to all of the sudden start grinding tomorrow because of the cash reset. In fact, I think it's laughable that they display the 'xxxxx, Your bank account has been adjusted' warning on the loading screen with the addendum that 'no further action will be pursued against you' or similar; as if you should feel so lucky to still have you account haha. Most people with modded accounts getting wiped will never log in to them again. They might as well have banned the accounts. A number of these types of players are very loyal, and have spent over $100 towards the game after purchasing the game on two or more platforms. After all, you can't possibly transfer a modded account to PS4 without owning a copy of the game for PS3 and PS4. To 'punish' someone who gave you a days pay or more is piss poor, IMO.

They created a beautiful environment with wonderful artwork and enjoyable content, unfortunately handicapped by a neigh unplayable gameplay model and terrible economy. I don't recall having to replay the same mission/activity dozens of times or more to buy a Corvette on another game, or have to play the same round on PGA tour 100 times to afford the next set of irons and a putter. That doesn't even address R*'s price discrimination of more relaxed playing styles while incentivising pvp combat. A lowrider, used primarily for peaceful car show gathers and such is a comparable cost to a Harrier jet. A motorcycle with an extended swing arm costs more than a pickup with a mounted minigun...there are a lot of head shakers in the game.

As usual, you'll find me cruising my Wolfsbane to drink beers on my tug on the way out to my yacht.

I guess I gotta find a way to get rid of a billion then that I ironically got from a modder so I could have money to buy the stuff when I transfer. It's still funny that I can still find ancient wallbreaches on the PS3 that R* never patched and players still abuse the hell out of but they target people with modded money hardcore just because those people don't buy shark cards.

If only the 'Esskey' had the same handlebars (racing position) the 'Vortex' has, and likewise the 'Vortex' had the 'Esskey' big single headlamp, they'd both make really great Café racers.

My 'Vortex' has a modern 'Honda RA F1' style about it. Looks great! as a modern café racer.

(Can't be bothered to post pic)

Buy every Pegasus vehicle available, the most expensive of all properties, all the clothes, masks, etc, then fill all of your garages with the most expensive car(I forget on PS3 which car that is) and overwrite anything that costs less to replace than the sale value of that car. If you still have tons of cash left you can always sit and keep buying expensive cars overwriting the same slot until you in a comfortable zone. Unfortunately I haven't seen a published hard limit, so I cannot say if there is a transfer cap now. There was a year ago, then there wasn't 6 months ago, and now people are reporting a cap again; but it's inconsistent.

After the money wipe in 2014, when I was still coming across ill-gotten gains(hah) I always tended to spend it quickly to buy anything I didn't already have as they never took away the items purchased with bad cash, only the cash itself. I also got into the habit of not keeping Adder bonds or similar for long as R* had a tendency to lock them from selling. I would always liquidate the dupes quickly and spend the cash until there was nothing else to buy. I recall at one point having every Pegasus vehicle, full garages and all the clothing, etc; but with 47k cash on hand after the wipe. This was just prior to the release of the original Roosevelt, which with its high price and falling just after the wipe became relatively rare as not many people had tons of money to burn. I dumped my bonds to afford it and carry on. Oddly, I had another PSN that received 91mil cash shared(someone with a payout multiplier robbed a store and shared the cash) that was never wiped. I think that one still has somewhere around 30mil but I haven't played on it in months. With the continued release of more garages I haven't had a need to, as multiple PSNs was really just a workaround for limited garage space early in the game.

I wish they had more unlockable items or even bonuses for leveling up past 135. It would at least make grinding more rewarding.

That's what I've started to do. I already had the Pegasus vehicles, and I've been working on the clothes. I still have to buy apartments for the Moving Day award so I'm going to start trading for high end apartments over and over. Playing in public lobbies has made me pay insurance premiums too which is a minor dent, but if worst comes to worst, I'll just ask a modder to take away a bunch of my money to clear up the cash stack.

I'd be so down for added funds per level up.

How about trading levels for cash? My main character is level 220. I wouldn't mind dropping down to 135 if it meant I got a significant amount of cash per level.

I second this idea!

I'm just shy of level *cough* 512 *cough*...

*goes on frantic coughing spree*

Problem would be with those 1,000 and up.

With all of the leaked vehicles, I constantly forget what's available to all players and what's on hold. Perhaps R* should stop the staggered releases. 💡

The real reason is to get people to spend their GTA money on a new car or bike, then a couple of weeks later release a new vehicle in the hope that the majority of players have to then buy a shark card to replace the money they just spent a week or two earlier.

That's why they leave the better vehicles until the end. The gamers who release the details of the yet to be available vehicles make it easier for us to wait to buy what we want.

I'm sure R* hate that

Right, but then when the next DLC comes out, the upcoming DLC will be on sale. By that time you would have saved up money. It's a perpetual cycle. At the end, no shark cards are needed.

You assume out of the millions of GTA online players that every one of them has the time to grind to earn enough money.

If everyone could afford everything then they would stop selling shark cards all together. Those who buy shark cards keeps the DLC free for those who have the time to grind.

Week 1, release a new super car that player A, player B and player C can afford.

Week 2, release a better super car that player A can afford but player B and player C now cannot afford.

Week 3, Player A enjoys his new car while player B grinds the games for hours on end and can now afford the car but player C buys a shark card to be able to buy the newest car.

Don't forget Player D though. Has hasn't got the time to grind or the money/interest to buy a shark card so he just carries on playing when he can and just enjoys what he has even though his virtual penis is tiny. He knows he can never have gold handrails on a yacht let alone be able to afford the yacht itself but it's all good.

Tin foil hat time.

I believe that Rockstar knows how much hype unreleased content makes, so they put even more unreleased content into the patches so people will datamine the files. Rockstar seemed to hate the clickbaiting GTAtubers (Example: Dumbasslive getting banned), but now they know the channels will draw interest to the game even more. All R* has to do is dangle a carrot in front of their playerbase.

Question.
Some users on here spend a lot of time complaining about shark cards and how evil and money grubbing R* is (despite the fact that they have yet to charge anything for any of the extra content they have released). If you need money that bad, how's about getting a couple of friends together and do the Pacific Standard heist glitch? It is an excellent way of getting money fast.
Even before last week's car glitch that gave a lot of us, a lot of money. Or in @Katiegan 's case, resulted in her buying a nice clubhouse :). The players I play with regularly @STI9 @Sting @Flash_Sweden all had between $15M and $20M in the bank because of the Pacific Standard Glitch.
To be fair, I could have had that kind of money as well, I just keep pissing it away on stupid stuff. Have you seen my new customized Vulcar Ingot by the way?

Player E: The person who sees all the unreleased stuff yet to come in the next couple of weeks and waits till everything is actually in the game before spending all of his grind-ed (ground?) money.
