Today I bought the Savage gunship. Some people may prefer the Buzzard with its quick controls but I like the Savage more. It's much heavier and it takes some time to change direction, but that also makes it extremely stable in flight and doesn't have any of the wobbling issues that the Buzzard suffers from. You can hug the ground at high speed and with great precision, and by combining throttle input with tail rotor input you can still make it turn around fairly quickly.

In terms of weapons it's quick to reload new rockets. It's slow to rotate, but the good side of that is that it's easier to aim the gun and the non-homing rockets, compared to the Buzzard. Generally speaking, you point it where you want to fire and then the aim stays there long enough so that you actually hit your target. That is much harder to do with the Buzzard, in my experience.

The Buzzard has a size advantage though, it can fly through narrower gaps and land in tighter spaces. But I don't mind that since the joy of flying is so much greater with the Savage.

Like you mentioned, the Savage has it's merits, but I find the cannon very hard to use since it's in a fixed position and the Savage has a limited pitch control. I've noticed while in a hovering position and trying to push the nose down as far as possible, the chopper hits a limit where the nose can not pitch down any further. Combine that with the maximum range of the cannon and you're left with a very ineffective weapon unless you fly dangerously low. At low altitude, powerlines and buildings are a major hazard for Savages, while Buzzards fly around with ease. If a gunner could operate that cannon like in the Valkyrie and have a slightly further attack range, the Savage would be a terrifying vehicle to fight against. Obviously, it needs to be balanced but I wish there could just be a little more usability with it.

Can confirm the update has fixed the Infernus and thus, presumably, all the other cars as well.

That's not to say it's been castrated completely, though. It *will* still oversteer and it *might* just snap on you and send you into the nearest wall.

It's dangerous, but for the right reasons now.

I guess you mean while remaining at the same altitude? Because if you're high enough, you can dive pretty much straight down.

I like them both and use them about equally as much. Although, nothing beats the Buzzard when it comes to availability (when CEO) and speed, so I use it mainly to travel fast across the map.
The Savage is my go-to-vehicle when it comes to Headhunter and to clear daily's as "bribe cops and cause havoc" and "destroy xx vehicles".
I very rarely use them in public lobbies though, because of homing missiles.

Yes, the Valkyrie has a better cannon. But you need a co-pilot to use it so it's no good for solo runs.

I actually think that the Savage is better than the Buzzard for low altitude flying, since it's much steadier. Almost like flying a fixed wing aircraft. As long as you remember that the car... er... helicopter is heavy ;)

Earlier today I was greeted by a gentleman in another Carbonizzare. I awaited his intentions.

I wasn't at all flattered by the subsequent gunfire, as such I decided to leave.

He was having none of it.

A bloody sharp corner this one was. He went somewhat wide and collided with the wall, the error giving me enough time to set a trap of sorts.

I turned into a construction site and knocked over this poor chap before strategically placing a proximity mine in the most strategically inept position possible.

He died.

I love proximity mines.

Now that's what we like to hear!

Don't you just love it when you help someone out with contact missions (especially when you deliver the Titan they crashed) and when you return to free mode they try to kill you? Some French guy tried that yesterday, but I just ran around a corner, dropped a sticky bomb and I blew it up right as he walked by it. He left the session right after he respawned.

Typical cheese eating surrender monkey.

He was probably late for work at the white flag factory. /dumbjoke

Even worse when they do that after a heist finale.

I've got a new Top Gun themed outfit:

Before I start a heist or contact mission with randoms I go passive. That way you spawn passive after the mission. I've been killed too many times by idiots I've just helped earn money for.

Yesterday I bought a vehicle warehouse and today I just finished up doing the 20 source missions to unlock the Rocket Voltic work (gonna sell them and buy it tomorrow). The last one was a doozy. It was a T20, so I knew I couldn't miss out on it. The problem was that it was the Cargobob mission, and a rather frustrating iteration of it at that. The Cargobob was being guarded in Humane Labs, while the ships holding the T20 were located off the coast of Lago Zancudo. I picked it up without difficulties and left with a friend supporting me in a Buzzard.

Somewhere close to the Alamo Sea, the OP AI finally learned how to aim and shot a whole lot of bullets at the car, bringing the repair cost to $4k. I dropped it to prevent further damage and started fighting them with the help of my friend. The Cargobob blew up somewhere in this carnage, so I had to drive the car to my warehouse. But then I found out that the T20 had landed upside down...

A split second later a fire truck rammed the T20 at full force and sent the repair cost into the stratosphere. Didn't even have the decency to turn it back on its wheels. I had to repeatedly hit it with my Kuruma before managing to get in and start heading to the warehouse with a repair cost of $26k.

Meanwhile in the city a whole organization of helicopters (one of which had bothered me earlier during a source mission to the point that I had to ghost) were flying above Rockford Hills, which my GPS happened to take me through, so I headed to the Tataviam Mountains instead. The T20 was smoking, so I raced as fast as I could and eventually got it to my El Burro Heights warehouse with a final repair cost of $28199.

Was it worth it? :P

Good story, but if I was in your position, I would've just destroyed the T20 after it landed upside down. It's not worth wasting more time and money at that point.

I don't know, $28k made minimal difference in my bank account. Besides, I only get top range cars rarely and the last deal I had gotten was ruined by an unprovoked tryhard who shot down the Police Maverick we needed to find the Mamba.

Anyway, today is sale day. Coupled with Sightseer it will easily make me a million. Rocket Voltic madness, here I come :D

Ah well. Enjoy the Voltic. :)

Store one of each car, sell a top range and keep sourcing/selling top range cars. I think that's how you'll be able to only source top range cars.

Yep, that's exactly how it works. Frankly, if you have a vehicle warehouse and want to make money from it, not doing this is a waste of your time. It'll take longer to start selling vehicles, but the pay is so much better.

Couple that with one of those so-called "public" sessions and the occational Headhunter and you have a safe way of making a whole heap of money solo (or with friends, though that comes with the risk of either disconnections or randoms joining), with a $/min. beating pretty much everything but Heist Finale glitching (which I believe was fixed anyway(?))

@rallymorten should know, since I read a post of him doing exactly that. @STI9 and @250 GTO also knows.
I actually know all of this, too.

I have 32 different cars - one of each - stored in my vehicle warehouse, and I just batch-import and export these eight cars*:
811
ETR1
FMJ
Osiris
Reaper
T20
Tyrus
X80 Proto

Why?
  1. When you go to steal a car for the warehouse, the game will never give you the same vehicle twice until you have 32 cars in your warehouse (80% full).
  2. IMO, they're the fastest importable cars in the fastest class of land vehicles in the game.
  3. They're all Top Range cars, so I'll be getting >$80,000 per export.
This is all done in solo public sessions to ensure my safety, and I can easily boost my profits even further by combining the import/export cycle with Sightseer...and Hostile Takeover on occasion, which is really easy with the Armored Kuruma.

*In groups of anywhere between 3 and 6 at a time. I export first, then steal cars equal to the number of those I exported (I call this "restocking") second.
