Well, got both the Turismo Classic and the Stirling GT yesterday, now down to less than $500k in the bank. Pictures later.

Only after 1 (possibly 2) cars for my collection now, both under $1 million thankfully. Aside from the Ruiner 2000...

On the subject of I/E, I'm still working on finding the best car to export repeatedly. I am using the method @rallymorten described, but there's a twist I'm attempting to test for.
The game mentions that market value affects the difficulty of the car sourcing missions, and my hypothesis is that the lower the market price, the less chance of getting one of the difficult missions (the one with the Cargobob is the biggest offender.)

Current experiences dictate that the Reaper and 811 have the lowest chance of getting the Cargobob mission, but they still have a chance of getting it as the source.

What I'm wary of, though, is what the effects of using the 3 slowest top range cars for profit-making, which are the Z-type, Roosevelt, and Stirling GT - because I haven't gotten a Cargobob mission once, but they cannot outrun the AI and its magical heat-seeking bullets. No idea what the trade-off is in terms of repair bills on cars.

I'll attempt to make this post clearer once I'm not on mobile...

I've just went online and....

"$500,000 has been added to your account"

I got $250,000 a week or two ago!

I got another $250k a week ago, and like previous it was after not logging in for at least a day or two. Probably just a coincidence as nobody has yet found any causation.

So you're now actually getting Money For Nothing?

And the chicks for free.

Regarding the silly source missions like the barge pickup;

I've mentioned this before, but for those running MTU800 or less that can easily snag a solo public session; don't be afraid to select 'find new session' when you get dealt a tedious pickup mission. I'd rather take the extra minute or two to load up a new room and begin a new pickup mission that will take me 3 minutes to complete, than spend 12 minutes battling with people on a barge, potentially losing the cargobob and having to fly halfway round the map for another one. If you have your spawn set at last location or your office, it's most convenient as you'll drop back right there and quickly be able to start a new pickup.

This process also works for annoying supply pickup missions, but be sure you're set on last location so that when you respawn into the new room you are next to your business. If you spawn a block or more away you may face an instant raid, so make sure you won't spawn in your apartment, office, or yacht instead. Interaction menu selects this, for those unaware. Once you spawn back in next to your business, go back inside and start a new resupply mission. Dragging 25 miles round the map for 10 minutes to take out the bikers for 1 bar of supplies? No thanks, I'll take the 'drive to Crenshaw and steal this van after killing 12 baddies' for 2+ bars instead.

It's all about efficiency. Everything you do in this game is engineered by R* with a focus on $/hr potential. That is why as they've refined(read:nerfed) things most people find that no matter what you do for your grind there is a max potential earning per hour, which you can often achieve in various ways but always works out to be about the same. This isn't unintentional, so making sure not to fall into the time sink traps is beneficial to your cash making progress.

Hmm. If you have received money from Rockstar, have you gotten any hacked money before? Maybe they're rewarding people for playing legit?

I received hacked money twice via the 92m bounty method and the share cash method back on PS3, but then 2 weeks later the account was adjusted to $47k as part of that whole reset. I think that was Jan-Feb 2014 or around then. I probably didn't play on that PSN for 2 months after that occurred, aside from purchasing the Roosevelt as it was a limited time availability. No hacked cash since then. Been on PS4 since the game released on it.

Weird bonus for playing legitimately, isn't it? $250K at seemingly random intervals, to the point where the game may give you two at once.

..or maybe, just maybe, some form of informal apology for the 🤬 vehicle handling introduced with SVC and.. "unbroken" the other day?

Edit: Was about to say it might actually be related to the mailing list/verified email etc. Could be worth investigating. I figure most people would probably switch that off as default, hence why R* might be inclined to reward people who're actually signed up for it.

Not sure if it does impact the eligibility, but I do have a social club account. I'd imagine like most other R* special discounts and offers you may need a social club account. I'm definitely not on their mailing list and do not have a verified email or anything with them.

I don't think it's just the Social Club Account thing - my brother's got an account, linked it to his PSN and all that, yet he's received absolutely nada.

'Tis a strange set of circumstances. Maybe you need to have completed Story Mode to 100%? Just troubleshooting.

I doubt it. I haven't got it to 100% on PS4, but I received 250k last week. I did however complete the game to 100% on PS3, but that was done in December 2013. I have only received 250k twice. Both occasions was after January 2016 (after I switched to PS4)

@250 GTO Thanks a lot, really helped. 👍

The bonus I got today was a whole 500k not the usual 250. So over the past couple of weeks I've had 750k for nothing!

I wonder if it's a case of someone reporting me for something and R* looking into it and seeing I've done nothing wrong.

Sometimes you kill someone and they report you for whatever reason because they are cry hards.

Just a thought, probably not.

I don't think anyone has found any direct causation for the bonuses yet. I know that I have not completed the story mode(or even made any progress on it), I don't report folks and don't get reported to my knowledge, I'm not on the mailing list nor do I have a verified email, etc. Almost any correlation anyone has conjured as a reason for the bonuses has several exceptions.

The only change I can think of is I hadn't done any import/export missions for a couple of months but a few weeks ago I started doing a 2 or 3 every few days just to top up my money.

But yeah, no one knows so it's all speculation. I just wish it was all inclusive and everyone got the bonuses. (Well apart from the try hard, stick wiggling, ghosted, off radar, bst abusing, invisible torso, chrome karuma with the giant spoiler, vote to kick cry hard brigade)

Just wondering, but do you two appear offline a lot? I'm sure I seem to remember both of you playing as 'appear offline' before. I've had a lot of emails about receiving cash and I'm rarely online due to work, so perhaps it has something to do with being 'offline' and Rockstar trying to bring you back in with free cash? Similar to when online shopping sites send you discount codes if you add things to your cart but don't checkout to try and bring you back. Obviously you're still making progress in the game but maybe Rockstar just sees the PSN account offline? Just a thought.

Anyone who has played Uncharted 4 and is familiar with the 'offline bonus' relic points?
I think the 250k is akin to that.

Basically you earn relic points every round you play on MP but each day you dont play, the game saves 20 points for you. When you come back online and play more rounds - the saved up points get given to you as a bonus when you compete matches. Say over 10 days not.playing the game saves 200 points. The next 10 rounds you play, you will get 15 relic points PLUS 20 as a bonus.

The 3 times I got the 250k bonus, it was after a few days of not playing.

Hey @leeislee mind if I ask you how you (and a handful of other people) got into my session earlier today? I was running MTU 800. :odd:

Also, I got myself a Rocket Voltic. Great fun. :D

When running MTU800 people can still manually enter your room by going to their friend's list or via the crew members list. It's you who (usually) cannot enter a room with others when set at MTU800. I actually utilise the feature to get others their own solo public room as well. I start up a solo public room using MTU800, the other person joins me, and then I leave which sets them alone in their own room. You can stay in a room that others have entered when you are MTU800 as well, although if you approach others or try to get into their car, etc it can cause you to drop connection. However, two people set at MTU800 can even be in the same room without issues when they are in different sections of the map.

I do tend to turn on my PS4 when I'm home and start GTA V long before I go online. Often, this means the game is idle with Franklin sitting in his room or something, sometimes for several hours before I actually sit down and open up GTA Online. As well, my character will at times sit idle on the couch watching TV, although I still show online.

I mostly select 'join crew members' when I change lobbies as I'd rather be in a room of level headed familiar players rather than enter a wild random lobby. It was probably that (like Marcus said)

My PS online appearance is always set to offline. If that's the reason I'm getting free money then I'll stay "offline". :)
