The only time I complained about the drive was when you drove into a river...

Maybe I'm weird but I'd like to hear more about this tale.

Like I said, I own the Paleto Facility, which is quite a bit away from, well, just about everything else. We were doing the setup where you needed to go to the observatory to shoot down the helicopter that's carrying the Barrage-ATV-Looking-Thing. Instead of taking the long, albeit safer way of travel, @STI9 suggested that we just take the train tracks that cross over Raton Canyon to save a minute or two off our drive time. Started off fine until we made it to the bridge that had the walkways on both sides, when I clipped one of these walkways and proceeded to launch the armored Karuma off said bridge, towards the river down below; somehow the car was not destroyed. We all found our way back up to the road where I called the same car in again and we merrily carried on our way I listened to multiple heist members complain about my driving.

I've always been paranoid about hitting those stupid walkways since day one of this game, yet I've only managed to do this once.

So, I ask those members again: ...but did you die?

Ken
enough small arms to make a Texan blush.
Let's have @Tex and @TexRex be the judges of that.
I know this was intended as a joke, but it's worth noting that gun ownership in Texas is 35.7%--just a few points above the national average of 29.1%. Having said that, I actually know someone who literally has a bunker in the desert full of guns. South Carolina is at 44.4% though. To be fair, though, that's ownership rate and says nothing of the number of guns owned by an individual.

Also consider location...

Here's where (near, anyway) that bunker is:

Del Rio

And here's where I live:

Austin

:sly:

While we wait for @Custom878 to get some issues figured out before doing more Busted (which you should totally join when the time comes), I figured I'd put forward the suggestion of actually doing an evening of FailRace's Survive The Hunt. And I'm throwing it in here instead of the Events thread because that's about as dead as the last three online racing series I've tried to set up.

@rallymorten @Custom878

What happened with this? Has it happened?

What happened with this?

If people can be bothered and we can find a time that works for everyone/the majority, that project can be brought back to life. Judging by how it's been going so far, though..

I would only be free at weekends really. Through the week I get on too late.

That's my favorite short cut. Plus it also gives you some cover from Merrywether, cops,. etc

THE 2018 SAN ANDREAS STATE TAX REFUND AND REBATE IN GTA ONLINE

ab206646da8c523c8adbcef06b7dff287aae3c6c.jpg

Tax season is upon us and with 2017's population growth, the San Andreas Treasury Department is happy to report a new stimulus for all citizens - hustlers, triggers, shot callers and kingpins alike. Plus, take advantage of new state-wide GTA$ rebate program to spend on anything in GTA Online; from sensible investments like Executive Offices to submarine-sports car hybrids like the Stromberg.

Simply log in to GTA Online at any point between February 16th and 26th to qualify for a GTA$250,000 stimulus bonus. Also, all GTA$ spent in GTA Online between February 16th and 26th will get you a 10% rebate (up to GTA$1M cash back). Then come back after February 27th to claim your GTA$ stimulus bonus and GTA$ rebate.

All GTA$250,000 stimulus bonuses and GTA$ rebates will arrive in your Maze Bank account between February 27th and March 6th.

In other words, if you haven't bought a Lazer yet, you can buy one now and get enough rebate for a Sentinel Classic.

The rebate thing has got me thinking, though.. "all GTA$" surely includes not just whatever's coming next week (I dare not make a prediction-based-on-leaks anymore), but Bunker supplies and all related fees as well? In which case.. that full extra million is not quite out of reach..

I've come to the realization that doing CEO crates is not a very effective way of making money if you are playing solo. Even with headhunter filling in the cooldown gaps, I'm making less money than if I just did HH/SS waves. I still really enjoy doing the biker businesses, but the crates have become something of an annoyance.

Does I/E turn into a drag or is it pretty enjoyable? Thinking about adding a car warehouse to my assets...

I/E starts off great it's pretty good fun but like everything else it becomes stale and repetitive.

I managed to earn about 12 million from I/E before I lost the will to live with it.

Regarding the rebate, shame it's only 10%. I may buy a Lazer just to sit next to my hydra but I'll wait for a 30% off sale or more. No rush or panic.10% just isn't enough of an enticement for me personally.

But that's just my opinion.

I imagine that the rebate is for elective purchases rather than expenses. The daily expenses, etc are R*'s subscription charges, essentially, so I don't see them rebating that. I could very well be wrong there, however. Their press release is as typically ambiguous.

Like any activity that you have to repeat, I/E will get stale. The relief, however, is in the profit. There is still nothing that earns more for your time spent in the game, period. As I wax and wane with my various earning activities, one of my low impact earning cycles is selling a bunker, and then doing an I/E source/sell while I wait the 28 minutes to resupply the bunker again. That earns ~$255k for ~15-25 mins of my time, once every 3 hours or so. The rest of the time I spend hiking, biking, drinking, thinking, maxin, and relaxin. Not a lot work, so no burnout; and steady income that more than covers my expenses.

I think the GTA: O experience needs a new income system. Nothing out of balance with the existing methods, but something new. The current ones are, basically:

-Mission/Objective Based
-Buy/Sell(Active)
-Supply/Sell(Active or semi-passive)
-Service (bodyguard/associate)

(I would characterize the races and adversary [etc] modes as objective based, as are the VIP missions.)

Something I would enjoy seeing would be a "troll hunter" game mode. Basically the game would algorithmically determine if a player is being a griefer/troll and then after repeated warnings will assign a troll hunter to take them out...this would necessarily be a cross-lobby mode that would transport the hunter into the lobby of the offending griefer. Perhaps it could be called "Vigilante" mode, as a nod to previous games. I'm thinking that only players with a certain grief-rating (calculated as above) would be eligible, to help reduce abuse. Income could be generated via an "on-call" base salary (paid "daily") + bonuses for each troll taken out.

The mental state metric is supposed to be along those lines, although the higher the mental state the player that you kill pays bonus in RP rather than in game credits. The bounty system is probably the closest to the above, although it is player driven rather than computer driven and relies upon players in the session to place bounties upon other players to reward others for killing them. I could see R* updating that to compensate for the inflation in game. Hell, the russian death ray rage laser is kind of like that, except inverse. I could also see R* expanding upon that and coming up with "new and exciting ways to kill other players" that elaborates upon the idea.

$5mil and you can hire mercenaries that will follow the other player from session to session. $10mil to ban other players for 24 hours. $20million to ban players for 7 days. $1000 in real life mailed to T2 and you get to choose a player for lifetime PSN ban. $2500 money order mailed to T2 and they will not only ban the player of your choice for life, but provided swatting services with a money back guarantee of casualty and/or 10+ years in prison.

Just in case there are people playing GTA on PS4, reading this and thinking they might want to do a social activity tonight, the Survive The Hunt session is open - send an FR and I'll get it sorted. Still ample room, and we don't bite. Apart from @Jamesyarders.

I need advice. I have enough a bunker with a staff upgrade, a counterfcou cash business, an empty, and a CEO business. I have $1.15 million in the bank. What should my next purchase be if I'm looking to make large amounts of tune monies.

Do you have the warehouse I/E? Lot of peopl grind that for money whilst the others cool down.

I do. I forgot to mention that. I do grind it, but as often as the others.

Ken
I've actually have just enough money for that. Is the way to go?

Well someone’s done the number crunching and everything you need to know about bunker upgrades is very likely here.

Do bear in mind that you should only commit to upgrading it if you don’t plan on moving bunkers because they don’t transfer over. ;)
