I'm just liking this. Getting timed out when trying to get online.

Same. I just got timed out a few times and when I hit continue nothing happens.

It's not pistols/smgs/grenades like IV. This is more like Blur/Mario Kart. You can pick up rockets, fixes, or boosts. Trust me, one rocket will blow up a car!

Yeah! I saw it. GTA Races in IV were frustrating because you always had the one little camper that would try to get free kills. I had a bad experience in one lobby which was being recorded for youtube. I had to go AFK, and was killed, so I kept respawning on a scooter and this one jackass kept killing me, essentially boosting. I tried to get him kicked before the race was over so he wouldn't get illegitimate XP. With these races now, no more scooters! Oh god. I wonder if you can do a scooter-only GTA Race and fire rockets out of the scooter.

Yeah same. Tried for a solid 20 minutes now to get on. I read earlier in the thread that if you don't quit online properly it will do this?

No. It was my first time online ever and I get the timed out.

Cloud must be down again. Also just read that xbox got their update this morning. Maybe massive bombardment?

I can't believe I have lost the 10k I earned and put in the bank yesterday. Now I have to start from the 3K I had after spawning twice in the middle of a gunfight between players.

I'm not going to read through the whole thread but I am now more certain than before that there's a post on here that mentions you should switch back to story so that your online progress gets a chance to save on the R* servers properly instead of just abruptly turning your console off.

Yeah same deal with me when I get the timed out message. You press X and all you hear is that button sound, nothing happens afterwards. I suppose we can't expect smooth sailing on this thing in the first week.

If it freezes on the timed out message, but you hear the button sound, sign out of PSN and it takes you back to single player. Don't need to restart the game every time then.

Has anyone got to the point Where they can do missions WITH Trevor/Michael/Franklin? I have gotten a call from Ron but haven't done the mission yet. Didn't mention Trevor...

I didn't even get into online without the timed out so how could I go save without getting on?

Yeah I got a call from Ron too, so I went to Trevor's house and he told me some stuff but nothing happened after that. So I just carried on as I was before, I guess he'll give more missions later.

Yeah I made that post. I got this info from the Rockstar online guide, shame they don't tell you in game but whatever.

GTA Races are truly the jewel of GTA Online races, but to be honest I'm not very good at them! I seem to be better at standard races, why I not quite sure. BTW, we going to have a lobby up again later? (Around 7pm BST like last night)

We should do; if you've joined the GTP crew you should get any invites we send, and Kitten will most likely post if he's hosting in here.

How often can you sell cars to LS Customs? You can make some real good money there. Well, good for online. I stole a range rover ripoff from outside, drove it 10ft into the garage and sold it for 9,000!

Do you just turn up at the door to LS Customs to do that?

That means the car is worth too much. I'm guessing you tried the Audi R8 or something like that?

All cars that can be purchased online can't be modified if you've stolen it from the AI

If you scroll up we're all getting this problem. Also you don't have to quit the game, just sign out of psn then you can press X and go to single player.

Try the SUV/4x4 type cars, some go for a decent amount of cash.

Just sign out of PSN, you wont need to restart the game.

I almost got trough with the online solo but after walking into the race starter the game froze with some heavy bass beating sounds from the radio or something blasting off while the picture is still... seems like theyre far from getting things straightened up

There's some repo missions which are against the AI, but for now there's a lot of team vs. team. Not all of it is last team standing though.
However more missions are unlocked as you progress, for example Ron called me and Trevor will have some missions to give me now, and they sound like they're against the AI too. I agree though that the use of the word 'mission' in GTA Online is a bit sketchy.

There's a bunch of missions from Lamar, Simeon, a guy named Gerald (you steal a bunch of cocaine for him). Plus racing, parachuting, and in I think 2 weeks there will be heists. And I'd course deathmatches and last team standing.

The same happened to me in GTA IV, but instead of one camper killing me, it was two, both of them shooting at me as I tried to get away.
