I'd say they're Console versions. The first image of the car doesn't look great.

I think it's either from the PC or the xbox version.

I find it interesting that older character is flying the plane, I would have assumed Rockstar would have some generic military pilot for the screenie but it seems they want to fire up the debates even more.

I don't think Rockstar would be that silly. It just confirms that guy is flying a plane, nothing more.

This isn't saints row. Has there ever been another GTA where you get a close up in the air of someone flying a jet? Doesn't mean they can't start now, but my guess is that he's the playable character. I don't see how that is "silly". I'm sure we'll know soon enough.

I'm just saying R* like to be as secretive and deceptive as they possibly can in reveal trailers and images, do you think of all the screenshots they could possibly have released they'd choose one like that then after someone inevitably zooms in they go "Awwww damn, we've revealed the playable character with that screenshot, whoops".

Maybe they did, I just think it's a bit of a conclusion to jump to that he must be the playable character.

I thought it had already been stated, unofficially, that Five will have multiple playable characters? If that's the case the dude in the plane may well be the main character, but also one of several.

I never said they did it accidentally. And after almost a year, do you not think it's about time they told us who the main character was? There's more to come this week, so hopefully we'll see sooner or later.

Or have you considered the possibility that that was Rockstar's subtle way of confirming the main character? The first trailer certainly appeared to revolve around the guy.

Nothing like that has been confirmed. There have been some rumours, but AFAIK, no supporting evidence. I certainly hope it is not the case.

It could be, you're right, I'm just saying that R* are pretty devious and cunning when it comes to revealing their games. I'd be surprised if they just slipped that in on purpose but we'll see I guess.

I wonder how this game will perform on the PS3, as it looks much better and will obviously be much bigger than GTA IV. I'm wondering because GTA IV doesn't perform too well to be honest.

EDIT: One thing they could get rid of is the motion blur (have never liked it since they introduced it in San Andreas), or at least tone it down a good bit. This could also increase performance perhaps. They probably know what they're doing though.

Three screenshots of transportation in GTA V have been released by Rockstar.

Wow those look VERY good but as mentioned a few posts back, they are probably from the PC. Those pics look way too smooth. Usually sandbox games have AA issues and these are way too smooth to be from a console. The car pic looks like a screenshot from Test Drive Unlimited 1. In a good way.

A couple more weeks and I get my R1600Turbo money for the bet in post 276 and 278.

I'm really looking forward to this game, those screenshots look really good (even if they maybe are from the PC version), i'm willing to accept a bit of AA from the console release (really doesn't bother me), just can't wait to play the damn thing.

On the charakter flying the plane: GTA IV supported 'generic' palyer models in the multiplayer mode, so I wouldn't read too much into the character that are depicted doing things right now.

I'm using the PS3, in case you didn't know. Perhaps there is an option for PC, but not for the PS3, that I can find anyway.

Likewise. My pc would struggle with gta3, let alone GTA IV. Look at the options menu. It's there.

My ps2 games are 5, 700 miles away, so I can't dig them out, but I definitely turned it off on gta3, VC, SA and IV. My eyes thanked me for it.

Same, I just happy that after such a long period of nothing, Rockstar have finally decided to start drip feeding us something.
