To pull it back on topic, I see nothing wrong with those pics but no doubt the devs will make the game even better before release :D.

Like I said those trees look PS2 ish
I'd say you don't know what you're talking about.

Of course, each leaf is not modeled individually in 3D, but they look perfectly good. Also, this game will be the biggest (when it comes to map size) that Rockstar has ever made. How do you think the game would perform if they thought as much about trees as you do?

Trees, trees and trees. I can't stand people who're going on about trees. 👎

It will be on at least 2 disks for sure. If it is indeed bigger, hopefully the larger areas are filled with content. I dont want a lot of large areas with nothing there. Some developers brag about how their game is bigger than the previous, but then you are stuck with empty areas. Some spots in SA were like that.

I'm quite aware of what I'm talking about. Then again I doubt it's finished.

Would love:

-Increases to all performance stats of cars. GTA 4's cars mostly refuse to oversteer and hold a slide/drift. Most seemed to have some weird form of traction control as a whole. Motorcycles felt awful too.
There are apparently mods for the PC version that greatly help according to YouTube and searches on mod sites. Handling stats are apparently kept in a notepad compatible file and easily editable. I love the visually simulated ABS though with the slow-mo cam, even if it doesn't affect driving feel.

-Ability to disable calls from (girl)friends while just wanting to drive around doing random things.

-Some more info on how massive the game world would be. More general info too. I also think release would be mid/late next year based on R*'s comments that came with the recent screenies. Hope a PC version quickly follows ala Max Payne 3 and is better optimised than 4's. Some feel it took 2 years for GTA 4 to be decently optimised with version 1.0.7.0. My PS3 version always felt stuttery too, though cutscene/indoor lighting seemed better.

-Some random time spenders from SA, like the trucker missions. Wonder how those will fit in to the more serious narrative though.

That's already possible.

Reject call? But you'd lose relationship points.

The other disable call thingy does not work for relationships if I remember right.

Edit: Yeah, it would be a bit of a cheat I suppose to disable calls without consequence.

Another thing I would love: steering wheels that turn with the character's hands!

Yeah steering wheel movement would be nice, it allways annoyed me when playing around with the cinematic camera and seeing Niko or my online character moving his arms and the wheel staying static :grumpy:.

SuperShouden
Limitations of the PS3? Why do people keep saying this? Look, people, the PS3 has twice the processing power, twice the three times the cores, and twice the graphics cards the Xbox 360 does. Look at GT5 vs. Forza 4. Turn10 had to create ways to cheat to get the graphics to look that good, and with GT5, despite the jagged shadows (which, Kaz said could have been fixed, but it would've made the game take a lot longer to come out), it has superior lighting, weather, graphics on the Premiums and really better sound quality (not the PS3's fault PD didn't want to record 1000+ engine sounds).

... Blah blah ignorant nerd rage blah blah...

BAHAHA!

I am sorry to quote a week old post, but my god...

Every time I see Shouden raging I HAVE to see what he is on about.

Shouden you never dissapoint.

You have made my signature. Thank you.

On topic: I will be picking this up for PC. Don't really care what the graphics look like... There will be so many mods out... in a couple of weeks after release this game will look nothing like those screen shots.

Pre-order from cdkeyhouse.com fo sho.

That has been going since the early days, I guess creating an illusion is better than animating the real thing.

I wonder how much cpu/gpu power it would take for steering wheel animations, I believe LA Noire does so but the city is much more 'dead' while MC: LA only does so for the 6 or so cars racing while police and traffic interiors are blacked out ala GT4.

The only other open world GTA/sandbox style games that turn wheels are those of the Saint's Row series. Not even the technically gifted Just Cause 2 does it.

The presence of convertible tops gives me some hope though. GTA 4's interiors already look almost good enough when you look in by aiming and the character's hand movements are ace. Hence wheels that turn would be brilliant.

I just hope they don't make the peds act too sensibly, like if they see a car crash I don't want them saying 🤬 like "OMG, do you think he's ok?" or "Jesus Christ someone call an ambulance for those people!". I'd rather it be more GTA style like "🤬, at least it wasn't me!" or "God Damn 🤬! Sucks to be you right now!". If they start pulling people out of burning cars and 🤬 they'll seem to nice and sensible and will be entirely less fun to kill. I feel the same way about cops, people for some reason want the cops to behave more normally and be less quick to shoot, less violent and stupid etc. But if the cops act sensibly and like normal people then they'll be less fun to kill, cops and peds in GTA have typically always been assholes/weirdos/stereotypes and they need to stay that way.

BTW its August.. Still no info on GTA5. Do some of you still think its coming out this year? Looks like I will be winning that bet for sure. :)

Haha, no chance it's out this year. If it was it'd be November and it'd have been announced long before now. Mid 2013 would be by guess, around May.

I would hope for a 2012 release (like Sly 4, which I'm looking really forward to), but, I agree, - around May '13 is the best guess currently.

Early 2013 seems most likely, damn that resume getting our hopes up of an October release... :(

If its going to come out in March 2013 (which seems plausable) then we will have to start seeing gameplay videos by September or October 2012. Usually about 6 months before a game comes out, the gameplay videos start getting released. So whenever they finally start releasing actual gameplay videos of GTA5, add about 6 months to that. Almost always been like that with games.

Three screenshots of transportation in GTA V have been released by Rockstar.

I just saw these on facebook. If you zoom in really close on the jet, you can see the face of the "old guy" in the trailers. He's most definitely the playable character.

Check it out here.
