I guess I do. I felt like GTA IV's driving was too sluggish and the braking distances were a bit too long.

And I still hate that all the reviewers gave the game a 10. I wonder if the same will happen here.

That's exact what I like, it made GTA IV online races so good because you had to judge the momentum/inertia, braking distances, turn in response, body roll, curb hopping and even yaw and all the cars handled and responded differently while not being so realistic to require a wheel or assists or anything. For me it was a great balance of realism and ease of playing. While LA Noire was missing all that.

That makes sense. It was also their first game on the next gen of consoles. BUT a huge step backward for the series. They removed a LOT of the features that made GTA so fun over all the years. The campaign was barely GTA imo.

If they really want to go all out and set the bar for GTA5, they need to bring EVERYTHING from San Andreas and Vice City. To top it off even more they could make the game a full co-op campaign. THAT would be the ultimate GTA game. Until they do that, Saints Row 2 and Saints Row 3 remain the top sandbox titles IMO. Crackdown 1 and 2 are also very impressive. In fact Crackdown 1 was the innovation for a FULL online co-op sandbox campaign. No other game successfully pulled it off until Crackdown 1. That game was pure sandbox innovation. I hope GTA5 pulls out some innovation of its own. But its going to take a heck of a lot to top SR2/SR3 and Crackdown in terms of online co-op sandbox fun.

Saints Row? come on... I don't understand how people could rate such an awful game in terms of physics, graphics and story so highly. For me there still isn't an open world game close to GTA IV and it came out over 4 years ago.

Dunno, if GTA was a bit over the top (in a good way) in previous games, Saints Row seems to be way over the top. I kinda like the somewhat more authentic approach of GTA IV. If R* manage to reach a middle ground between that and GTA SA's vast options and content - it'd be damn near perfect for me.

Pretty much this. But it really needs at least everything from VC and SA aswell. I'm pretty much guarenteeing it will flop if it doesn't. It's going to sell millions of copies anyways, but in terms of replay ability it's got nothing going for it.

Judging from the DLC cars in TBoGT and such I think R* got the right idea, they seemed much easier to drive to me at least.

They need to be like VC with ragdoll physics. Some of the SA vehciles were nice, others too grippy. I think like VC with ragdoll physics would be totally badass.

You can get it on Steam for 10 bucks and every slightly modern PC can run this game.

Yeah but even on high settings it lags a little. I wish I could run it in window'ed mode.

GTA V gets compared to San Andreas by an Official Rockstar Rep

Not much to see here, but if anything I think GTA V might be on par with San Andreas....Not sure if that's a bad or a good thing, as I want more. But the way they word it is weird, almost like it will pick up in some places SA lacked and forget places it didn't. Hmm. I know it's not much but take it for what you will.

It's been three weeks since the last screenshots were released. We should get some new info, screenshots or maybe even a trailer soon. Getting more excited by the day.

I just want cars in GTA V to be more planted to the ground than GTA IV.

Il have to disagree gta san andreas had car planted to the ground and it was no fun because they were so easy and predictable, i think gta4 did a great job on the driving part!
And i hope GTA5 will even be more realistic that GTA4

I agree with you, the GTA IV cars where about as realistic as I've seen from a non-racing game and when you go back to San Andreas after playing IV you can see the cars have way too much grip and it just feels like your playing Saints Row.

Why is it so necessary that GTA V be realistic. It's not a simulator. Surely Rockstar's time, effort and money could be better-spent working on dozens of other things than a hyper-realistic physics model.

If R* retains the fun ragdoll physics and adds a touch of greater throttle control and oversteer to driving, it will pretty much be open-world physics perfection.

I don't think the GTA V needs to be 'realistic' as in sim racer styles physics, but GTA IV's driving model was almost perfect for a sandbox game. Just let the cars spin the wheels up in slides a bit more.

I hope they go back to bike physics in 'vanillia' GTA IV, they were horrid in TBOGT and TLAD as all you did was slide and it was almost impossible to fall off unless you had head on collisions.

The only thing I disliked about the driving physics was the intense body roll on sportscars. If they make 'em a bit stiffer, I'll be pleased.

The body roll on all cars was excessive. I don't know about you, but having a Cavalcade nearly flip over on a slow 5 mph turn is just odd.

When did I say anything about San Andreas in that post.

Agreed.
