Day one patches?!

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

GG, R*.

I finally finished that 353Mb patch an hour later, then it threw up an error at the end and has to redownload the whole thing.

Well at least it's 300kb/s instead of 40kb/s this time.

I came here to see if the problems I had downloading the patch was just me, and I guess it isn't. Flawless launch once again, Rockstar.
To be fair to Rockstar, there's probably a lot of traffic all trying to download and the servers are overloaded.

I had no issue with the downloading. It was a little ''slow'' but it finished and i started the game and it worked.

Also just transfered my player from my PS4 and i have to say so far about the PC version of GTA V: Loving it! ^^

So I've played for about 15 minutes now. Here's my system specs and game settings/fps to give others an idea of in game performance:

i7 920 D0 @ 4Ghz (first gen i7)
6Gb RAM @ 1600Mhz
GTX970 @ 1536Mhz core / 7900Mhz RAM

First I tried everything maxed out at 1080/60 with 2xMSAA for both AA options, for the most part it held 60fps but experienced short dips into the high 40's/low 50's. Turning the tessellation and Ambient Occulsion down a setting gave no lower than 55fps, using just FXAA pretty much keeps it at 60.

I was most worried about my 2009 CPU, but with everything maxed out, it had no problem whatsoever, going by the temps in Afterburner, it's barely being stressed at all. My 6Gb of RAM is still getting me by as well, the game is using about 2Gb of system memory, it's the GPU which is working the hardest. VRAM is running in the high 3Gb range, meaning the 970 is having to use it's slow section of VRAM, but it's still got a couple 100MB of headroom. The cores are working almost flat out but temps are staying in the low 60's.

Well, after driving through the city for a bit, screen tearing and mini-freezes started happening in epic proportions, so I cranked most settings way down which didn't make any difference, and minutes later my system crashed :(

So apparently you can't play unless you sign in to your social club account.

Well I forgot my password and now my account is locked. HTF do I unlock it? Password has been reset, still won't let me in.

Edit: Never mind, got it.

Played just enough to get the story started, then stopped as I am no PC gamer and using the keyboard for this game is going to ruin me. Going to go buy a DS4 tomorrow after work.

As far as graphics for me, all of them are either on high or very high, and the only thing I noticed that was off was the MSAA stuff. (no idea what that is, Lewis's post above is alien talk for me) Not sure what my FPS was, need to get fraps or something similar so I can keep an eye on it.

I'll be buying the PC version in a few months when prices come down/my PC is fixed. (Which ever happens first)
I will buy the retail version because I do prefer to have a physical copy and I don't care about how many discs are included. :sly:

Although it's mainly because if I were to download the game I'd being going over my monthly cap in one hit.

At work right now, but already pretty excited to be playing this on PC tonight. (And I already played the PS3 version,). Can't wait to see how it looks on my i5-4460/GTX970.

Multisample anti-aliasing, basically this:

Downloaded the two patches this morning, since I decided to download it at 6AM in the morning everything downloaded very quickly (under 5 minutes), can't wait to play when I come home from comm. college!

So, how is the PC port? Won't be getting it for a while as my PC is far from able to running this game. It could barely run GTAIV.

I will report later how it runs with a benchmark with the stock clocks on both CPU and GPU and overclocked with the CPU running at 4.7GHz and the GPU boosting up to 1625MHz

But, so far what I heard it runs fairly well on 1080p and 720p, so optimization should be fairly good and favoriring for lower end hardware. It's quite obvious though that running GTAV at 1440p, 1600p or 2160p will be very damanding even for higher end systems.

I'm not to interested in that high a resolution anyway. Going to wait until I get a better GPU before even considering getting this. Even though I really want to use the new editor!

Edit: The last few days all I've been doing is turning the HUD off and trying to make little movies on Story mode. But I usually die because I'm still early in the game and can't be bothered to complete the game again.

Great, my game gets stuck on a loading screen at the first mission.

I better don't have to download the whole thing again :indiff:

Oh goody, PC Port is sounding impeccable!

Everybody else doesn't seem to have this kind of problem, and again if you look on reddit and such, they all say it runs incredibly well and they don't have any issues.

But I just uninstalled the game and going to reload everything. But it already p**ses me off :(

Release day problems

Release day problems

Yeah, but weirdly enough nobody seems to have this problem but me. And nobody seems to have any other sort of issues, but me.

Edit: Oh great! The bloody download speed is still as bad as it was a few days ago. Yeah, I think I'm able to play the tomorrow. GOD DAMN IT!!
