A civic/integra/gti series would be interesting

Perhaps I could even help run it. I'd try to use different tracks than this series, too.

I was thinking along the lines of having a "fast" class and a "slow" class.

Yeah but how many seconds slower on average? I think any car slower than 5 seconds (on a good size course) in a mixer is way too slow and annoying. It's hard to find the right balance but it's amazing when one does.

Like in Super GT. In WSGTC we usually run about 4 seconds faster than the GT300 cars, on average, depending on the track of course.

^ seriously sick competition

Full grid as it stands guys. I'm opening the race room up at least an hour early so we can sort out any connection troubles:

They couldn't be too much slower or they'd just be in the way. Something to think about, but not too much right away.

And just to be clear and get everyone on the same page with the schedule:

I'd like to say one thing before we start, just so everyone is on the same page:

PLEASE be patient going into turn 1. The whole field doesn't need to try and take the lead in the first corner. :P

Myself and I'm sure many others would appreciate it. 👍

Races are won in the last corner not the first 👍

I love that saying. But honestly, a race could be won in the first corner... as long as you're the only one to make it out cleanly.

I guess that's what everyone thinks though, which is why they charge in to get ahead of everyone else in hopes that they can avoid the carnage and break away from the pack.

That's why sometimes I prefer to start at the back of the grid; just wait for the inevitable T1 mess and drive around it.

I'm still betting on a 1st corner crash, though

How about everyone practices their starts from the appropriate grid box. Find your braking point and don't forget to add some distance to account for the tow you will be getting from the car in front of you.

This means all of us!

Edit: SAM, I see you. Where have you been?

Why aren't you racing? You registered for the series.

Stig's on the grid list Brosif, he is racing.

I also sent a little word to Sam, hope he can respond.

But yeah, that's all good advice about the ever-morphing racing line.

Just remember that one will have so much more fun if they just take it easy on the first turn and just yield to people that are even an inch ahead of them. The driver will definitely be able to pass that person once they get back around to the main straight.

Patience = fuN!

I already have ;]

Room's up:

I'm encouraging all racers to show up as early as possible so we can make sure there's no bad connection problems.

New to GT Planet but I've been playing the GTs since 1998.

I was curious about this series so I built an ISF RM to spec and got a 1:52.344 on Grand Valley within 3 laps. I know I'm too late for this race but I'd like to try out for next week's.

That was a complete disaster for me, the race was a recovery effort, I was dead last by turn 2. I apologize to mule for the hit out of the exit of the tunnel and also sorry to someone else for a separate turn 1 disaster.

Thank u guys for waiting for me.. thought the race was at 8. Dumb me. Thank you Stig for sending me the message, or I would have never made it.

On a separate note, I do have some things I want to say... but I am going to cool down for a while, then make a post later.

Thanks again for hosting this Wardez!

No problem man. Alot of "interesting" incidents in this race, Imonna cool down watch the replay and make sure i wasn't imagining stuff...

I'm sure you weren't. A lot of people were overly aggressive and ruin the race for others.

Thanks 👍 I know i didn't run a good race due to a mind numbingly stupid pit strategy and I don't want to go accusing someone of ruining my race when it was already pretty much ruined :)

A lot of the incidents that happen in that rhythm section after turn 5 were likely just cases of two cars battling where only one car can fit. I think thats what was going on between me and Blackice, and me and Jav. That, and me being frustrated over my tires being junk late in the race, and being bumped into on every corner by people

Well that race was fun for me. Thanks to everyone who came out and Congrats to RT for the win.
I'm gonna head out to work now. I'll post results and all that jazz later tonight when I'm back from work.

If you have any questions or concerns feel free to PM me. 👍

EDIT:
Oh and I just had to mention something else so we don't take it for granted. It seems like absolutely no one had connection problems which is awesome. Looks like the steps I took like resetting my router, modem, clearing my cache, restarting everything really caused for a rock solid hosting connection. Boo yah!

I know there's a lot of names flying around and blaming people for incidents, etc. But I would just like to say that unfortunately we're playing a video game and incidents are going to happen. Could be as simple as one person's connection not being 100% compatible with another person's connection that could cause accidental contact.

Also, if you know someone is around you, just keep an eye on where they are at and give them plenty of room if they decide to pass. There's no reason why you can't get that position back later in the race if it turns out you have a better car.

Everyone just needs to relax. If someone is bumping into you, give them some space and try to pass them later. It's not worth getting heated over.
