I'm sorry to everyone that felt I could've let them past sooner at the start, there was little I could do and I thought the race would be restarted, words can't describe how bad I feel knowing that I might've pissed off at least 7 people, if I did, sorry.

I'm surprised with my performance for this race. Went from I think it was 11th to 6th place. In my head I just kept saying "Consistency wins the race!" I didn't spin out once (almost did a few times) and only went off the track about 3 times. I think if I pitted one lap earlier, I would have been able to stay caught up with RedReevos and possibly finished 5th. Me and Red had a pretty good race at the beginning. My fastest lap in that race was 1:25:385, too bad that wasn't my qualifying lap. I think that my random setup worked out for me. Just a fluked setup that Brosif helped me with. Thanks man.

Yeah you didn't piss me off at all. I just pissed off myself.

This all made me realize we have to put together a super concise and short rule list so we all know how situations like this should be treated.

I've always said before that if someone's out of place when the race starts, we won't restart the race, it'll simply be up to the person who's out of place to carefully drop back in the running order, not simply stop.

Fr3d did a great job considering the circumstances. You deserve a big apology from me. I'm really sorry I messed it up like that for you.

I'm considering changing my attitude when it comes to starting a race.

But since the last race is coming up, we'll just do our best there to prevent something like this again. If something like this does happen next race, we will start the race.

I just couldn't do it at Laguna because half the people knew to just go no matter what and others assumed we would restart. It's really hard to call a fair shot in that situation.

It was a natural disaster.

I'm still stupidly disappointed in that result. I should have done better, especially with how I qualified....

Man I really wish I hadn't have gone off the track on the last lap, it was fixing to be a really close race. Fought it out with EvoGT for a bit at the start which allowed the leaders to pull a 7+ second lead on us. Not sure which lap it was but Evo made a mistake going into the first corner which allowed me to break free of him and concentrate on making up some time.

My tires didn't really fall off that much through each run, I was able to run consistent 1:25's most of the time. Good race everyone, especially Aliens who ran a flawless race. (that I could see) 👍

Wish I had a way to record the full replay from my view. Definitely the drive of the race if I might say so myself. :P

all good Wardez, considering there wasn't a massive amount of carnage lol, on a lighter note, even with pole position I managed to finish 8th, 8 might be my favorite number but it doesn't mean I have to qualify and finish 8th at every bloody race lol

Watching the replay just now, I really have to say good job to everyone at the front for having a super clean start. Best one so far. 👍

Good race everyone... for some reason when I was testing before the race my tires were in much better condition overall... but during the race it was as if everyone's tires were better than mine... I couldn't stick corners like most of you! I noticed during the 2nd half of the race catching up to BlackIce I noticed he kept making mistakes almost every lap... yet for some reason he would still pull away. It was definitely a huge challenge... my tune I would say was subpar (got it on these forums)... will prep much more for the next one.

Hey guys I whipped up the points real fast in Google spreadsheet so I'm posting it here asap so you can all look at how we all stand. Last race is going to be epic. I gotta do the math to see how the top five need to finish in order to crown the champ. (btw yes I know I messed up the position numbers in yellow. I'll post the full real standings tomorrow.

The weather reports indicate a large storm cell heading over Suzuka Circuit next weekend.

Get your practice in at Suzuka, but be prepared for anything. Especially prepare for racing under moist conditions.

Btw, does anyone know who hit fastest lap? I still need to give a bonus point out for fastest lap. I can't know till I run through the replay when I'm home from work later tonight. I think I hit a 1:24.2xx. I wonder if anyone hit 23s.

Later!

I hit some 23's during the race for sure, will keep an eye out while watching the replay.

Edit: Re: weather at Suzuka.....yikes.

Ah, I'll fix all that stuff up later, just realized I messed up Grayfox's position too. Consider it temporary just so you guys can look over the points.

Dashing off to work! Gotta over take all the cars in the Las Vegas Strip Gp

What is your job exactly? lol

Well Mule, looks like we are tied. Best of luck next week. I want it to be a good and intense race. I really do hope it rains though, only reason I was able to finish 6th today was because of people messing up in front of me so I'm hoping for the same next week. I predict it will be anybodies race because over time the cars will just spin out because of loss of tread, cold tires, and rain (worse mix ever in the world of racing).

Hey Wardez looks like my best was a 24.260. No .23 like I thought.

Edit: Brosif has the quickest lap.....again with a 1:24.185

Edit 2: Here are the fastest laps for the top drivers:

1:24.185 (Brosif)
1:24.208 (Alien)
1:24.260 (Turbo)
1:24.285 (Wardez)
1:24.505 (EvoGT)
1:24.726 (RedReevos)

Hey guys sorry, I don't know what happened. My PS3 spontaneously 'crashed'(?) not sure but the screen froze and then went black and then shut down. When I turned it back on, I couldn't connect to PSN. My internet was also messed up, had to reboot DSL, DMZ router and game subnet router.

Even though it was my first time in the ISF and my first race with you guys, I was happy to bring up the rear, so please don't think I gave up because of my less than 'Alien' like performance.

The first time I actually drove this car was during qualifications and I think I was even on Sport Soft instead of Race Hard. I actually switched to Race Hard minutes before the Race when I also realized there was an 8th gear and re-tuned the tranny. I will be practicing more with this car, I kinda really like it (not usually a big fan of street cars.)

Anyways, apologies, and I look forward to competing with you in the next race.

Regards,
MajikTom

I recorded the entire race from the roof view on my car. Unfortunately it's in mpeg4 format, and split into two files. Anyone know a cheap (or free) way I can convert and combine them for youtube upload?

Have you tried pumping it into Windows Movie Maker and just exporting it as one clip? Should be fairly easy to do, like you're just combining two segments in an edit. Then you can just export it as a .WMV

Let me know if it works. My lunch break is up, time to go back.

Well, the start definitely threw me for a loop. I was looking forward to the race knowing that I had the inside lineup on this course in the 3rd position. Practiced my starts repeatedly this week thinking I could hug the back of Aliens and hold 2nd place through the first turn. I was looking forward to being able to follow the leader and conserve tires until later in the run. Unfortunately that wasn't the start that happened because I really thought we were going to re-align.

I was in the wrong gear at the start, and just messing with the throttle. When everybody started passing me, I thought, whats going on, why are we racing so hard to re-align? I was lucky to just be in 7th position at the end of the first turn. I actually think a couple of the guys were being nice to even let me in there. I apologize if me being on the mic asking what was up, distracted anyone.

I was running horrible and couldn't seem to get my mind straight. I think it was actually fortunate for me when BlackIce passed me. Before he passed me, I braked a couple of times, an entire marker early. After he passed me, I was thankful to have someone to follow for a bit.

After I pitted on lap 15, I was able to fully get my mind right. I ran some good consistent laps, until I started pusing too hard to try and catch up to the leaders. I had a spinout, was able to get back on track in the same position. I ran good laps from there, but could never reach the top 4.

Amazing that it took me that many laps to get my head straight. It is almost embarassing. Its funny, its a video game, but it is probably the closest I will ever get to racing a car. This series is awesome, because we all get a chance to practice the track all week, and run our best against other people's best.

Even though the race didn't turn out as expected for myself, and I am sure for others as well. Everyone on the track that I experienced were level headed and considerate. There are multiple people I applaud for their cleanliness and good sportsmanship today. Fredstar did an incredible job of trying to run a race, and let the faster people through at the beginning. Not an easy place to be put in. BlackIce and I had a little bumping, but otherwise pretty clean. Grayfox and one other person(can't remember who it was right now), did a great job of letting me get past on a lapped run.

I watched the replay of the top guys as well. Definitely enjoyed watching the cleanliness of Wardez and Turbo's race on lap 21. I really think the top guys are setting a mark for the rest of us. Everyone I saw in the replay and the race, seemed to be getting much more control over their cars. Really impressive!

Good job to everyone for such a clean, competitive race. I look forward to the last race, and hopefully getting to race with all of you on a continuous basis after this series is over. Thank you everyone!

my tune I would say was subpar (got it on these forums)... will prep much more for the next one.

Was this mine? I never said I was much of a tuner. That really is the tune I used for the race. I am willing to share anything with anyone in this series. If anyone ever wants to know my gearing, tuning, etc. just ask. It might not be so great, but it is what I run. I would love critiques on the tune though, because I really have some learning to do when it comes to setting a car up. Sorry again if it was mine and it didn't work out for you.

Couple things:

1) 2:01's will be possible on Suzuka in the dry
2) Racing in the rain is extremely interesting

Hopefully it's nice and sunny on Sunday. :D

@ Wardez: Windows Movie Maker will not recognize the file. These are Quicktime based MPEG-4 video.

Just made the sign-up thread for my Integra Series. Come on in, man. You're more than welcome. All of you are.

I would love to join for a couple of the races. My Saturdays are quite busy, so I probably won't be able to make all the races. Wouldn't mind being an occasional fill in if that is cool.

Meh. Go ahead and sign up anyway.

I'm might get rid of that "only sign up if you're committed thing," as hopefully, most of the people that do, are.

That way, you and RT shouldn't have to worry as much
