...BlackIce and I had a little bumping, but otherwise pretty clean...

Sorry for the few bumps that I gave you that race. I didn't notice the speed I was going on a few of the turns which made me over-brake and have the ABS kick in which increased my braking distance and in order for me to not ram you off the road I had to let off the brake a little so I could at least steer a little bit away from you. From the start I was sure me and you were gonna have a good race together until I slide off the track on the last turn which made me lose 2 positions and allowing you to pull away from me.

I noticed that in the last race everyone became WAY more friendlier then in the race on Grand Valley Speedway. Because in the race before, there were endless amounts of complaints about aggressive drivers, but now, all you hear is, "Ya there were a few light bumps but nothing serious and overall clean race." I feel like a racing family is forming.... don't you? :) No Homo!

11 AM EST yesterday a bunch of servers died at work - had to leave the house in a rush to work on it - missed the race :(
anyways, hope i can make it for the last one

cheers

I noticed this too.

Also wanted to apologize to you for squeezing you on the short straight after the first couple turns, can't remember which lap it was. I think you thought I was going to the outside, when I actually was on the inside and in the dirt. I really wanted that inside line. :D

Ya I was wondering where you were and looked backed and saw you take the inside, made me laugh because you just barely squeezed through.

Was this mine? I never said I was much of a tuner. That really is the tune I used for the race. I am willing to share anything with anyone in this series. If anyone ever wants to know my gearing, tuning, etc. just ask. It might not be so great, but it is what I run. I would love critiques on the tune though, because I really have some learning to do when it comes to setting a car up. Sorry again if it was mine and it didn't work out for you.

No, it was made by someone random (not a tuning clan or w/e)... forget where I just searched the forums for it... but it was also the only IS-F RM tune on GT5 tuning wiki

Opening a practice room @ Suzuka, like now:
1472-6118-4216-8213-1430

I wonder if the correlation between suspension stiffness and grip level in wet conditions is accurately portrayed. Hmm.

I'm not going to spend too much time tuning for wet conditions, because if it doesn't rain then I'll probably have a car that handles like crap in the dry.

But if it does rain, you will have a car that handles like crap in wet conditions. Heyyyyyy!

Edit: Room is still open. I am leaving my car in pit lane while I go ride my road bike for a while.

What kind of times did you guys hit, any rain today?

I feel like Ecclestone turning on the sprinkler system :)

Oh and btw Brosif, meet ALFonso.

LOL, dude, that is classic hilarious!!!

Lap time wise I was just trying to work on the balance of the car. With tire wear off I turned a 2.00.8xx. With tire wear on I was able to run 2.02.2xx.

With full-on fixed rain I was able to run a couple 2.20.xxx lap times but I am sure that would be a different case with traffic.

I am playing GT1 right now. How bored am I?

It's pretty sad that I remember all of the menu music despite not having touched the game in over 10 years.

In rainy weather, do you guys stay with Racing Hard tires or switch to Rain tires? I ask this because when I did an LMP race in the rain, i stayed on Racing Soft and still managed to get fairly good grip. Also what are Racing: Intermediate tires for?

I switch to the rain tires. Intermediate would only be something I would run if it hasn't started raining yet, but looks like it's going to.

Racing Hards = Dry & very, very, light rain

Inters = Light rain

Full-on raging wets = Heavy rain

It's all about the right tire at the right time. Berni... I mean Wardez gets to play race director and it is rain that I hope he decides upon.

Rain is the great equalizer.

Just hit a 2:01.9xx in the dry, working on my wet setup...

Edit: Hard to test for wet conditions when it's raining but the ground isn't wet.

Here's the point scenarios for the top four championship contenders

Alien, with 75 points, is favourite to win the title as he enjoys a 3 point lead over Wardez heading into the final race in Suzuka. Brosif is a bit further with 4 points adrift while R1600Turbo is 9 points behind Alien.

Tie breaker:
If there is a tie between two drivers it will be decided by who ever has more wins or most number of higher finishing positions. Either driver could also edge out the other in the tie by setting fastest lap and win by one point. (* = fastest lap extra point)

Alien69
- A victory in Suzuka will ensure he wins the first IS-F Championship Cup regardless of what the other contenders do. Only Wardez can challenge him if he is in second place. He needs to slip to fourth for any other drivers to challenge him.

- If Wardez wins(95), he needs to finish P2 (96*) [Tie breaker]
- If Wardez finishes P2 (92), he needs to finish at least P3 (93)
- If Wardez finishes P3 (90), he needs to finish at least P5 (91*) [tie breaker]
- If Wardez finishes P4 (88), he needs to finish at least P6 (89)
- If Wardez finishes P5 (87), he needs to finish at least P7 (88)
- If Brosif wins (91), he needs to finish at least P4 (92*)[Tie breaker]
- If Brosif finished P2 (89), he needs to finish at least P5 (90)

Wardez
- Wardez can't afford to finish less than two places in front of Alien if he wants to stand any chance of winning the Championship Cup. Only Alien can contend for the championship if he is in first place. If he wins in Suzuka he will beat Alien even if Alien finishes 2nd because of having more 1st place finishes unless Alien can achieve fastest lap. Brosif only has one less point.

- If he wins(95), Alien needs to achieve fastest lap to win by one point.
- If he finishes P2, (92) Alien needs to finish no higher than P4 (91) and Brosif no higher than P3 (89)
- If he finishes P3 (90), Alien needs to finish no higher than P5 (90) and Brosif no higher than P3 (89)
- If he finishes P4 (88), Alien needs to be finish no higher than P8 (87) and Brosif no higher than P4 (87)
- If he finishes P5 (87), Alien needs to be finish no higher than P9 (86) and Brosif no higher than P5 (86)

BrosifDuder
- Any position lower than third will see him finish the season empty handed unless the three other contenders all retire.
- If he wins (94), he needs Alien to finish P3 (93) or lower
- If he finishes P2 (91), he needs Alien to finish no higher than P5 (90) and Wardez no higher than P3 (90)

R1600Turbo
If he wins, he will break any tie breaker by having two more wins than anyone else. But missing the race in Tokyo means he needs to finish very high in Suzuka to stand a chance.
- If he wins (89), Alien needs to finish P7 (88) or lower, Wardez needs to finish P4(88) or lower and Brosif needs to finish no higher than P4 (87)

Man this will be intense! Your like one of those commentators that give people possible race results that pumps everyone up for the next race. Kinda feels like real life because I myself am fighting for 5th place.

Yes man, thanks. It'll be just as epic for the top 5. Either you finish higher or Mule does, total toss up :D

Also, I'm putting a final rule in place for the last race.

The only entrants allowed to qualify will be those who have raced at least twice before in the championship. Late contenders and registrants are not allowed to race on Sunday.

I think your calculations for BrosifDuder are a little off. If he wins, he would have 94 points, not 91, which makes it a bit easier to clinch the championship. Yes, I know I am talking about myself in the third person.

Not that I am actually going to win the championship, let alone the race.

Yeah, I copied and pasted some of the points to the wrong place.

This is what I had down for maximum finishing points:

1st Alien 98 (99)
1st Wardez 95 (96 if fastest lap)
1st Brosif 94 (95)
1st RT 89 (or 90)

Yeah I'm pretty much out of it. Missed the Tokyo race by 15 minutes and that killed it for me. No big deal, we'll try to stay out of trouble on Sunday and finish strong. :)
