@kapnk006 would you have a proforma of a Phased Process for us to adapt?, or if u have time could you put a basic plan together for us to give direction.

................

I will gladly create an initial draft/plan of a Phased Process to our "Thread Moderator/Project Manager" whoever that is. Question is though..........who is that?

@eran0004 can the design be modified to work within the dimensions and still keep the feel if it's a single seater?

What's the point of a single seater Kei car? Why not just get a motorcycle?

Here's something I did just for fun, to show what can be done within the Kei car format. It's a Volvo Concept K, based on the Concept Estate. Same length and height as the Mazda Autozam (3295 mm in length, 1150 mm in height). Note that the wheels are pretty much in the corners of the car, I think that's the key when making a Kei car, so that there's as much space as possible between the wheels.

Comet Roadster-One

The Comet Roadster-One will have a V8 7.7L supercharged engine with a lightweight Construction made mostly from Carbotanium to give the car a great power to wait ratio The Comet Roadster-one will have only one seat in the middle. The car will look like a Ultima Can Am and a AC Cobra.

Guys as we know, GTPlanet manage to bring it's name to Project C.A.R.S and now it's our turn to make this forum proud with our community designed VGT, I know that the chance for us to see GTPlanet's name included in the list of world's renown companies is pretty much small but let's keep our hopes up and finish it with style! Hope this will motivate us! :)

I would love if anyone would do some quick 3D sketch of my drawing. I suppose its a lot of work though :P and I suppose having so many curved lines it is even harder?

That looks cool. 👍 Wheel position is definitely key when it comes to Kei cars (original Morris Mini did the same).
I started doing a sketch of a new Autozam (posted it a while back in the other VGT thread). Again, the wheels are pushed out to the corners.

While that makes sense, at the same time you could argue, What's the point of a 2-seater sportscar? Why not just get a motorcycle that seats 2? (one on the pillion seat). The driving physics and feel of a single seater Kei sized car, would be different to that of a motorbike.

It would be more about driving fun and sensation, instead of being focused on practicality.

That sketch looks cool! You could actually put the side mirrors on the back of the headlights :D

And you have a point about the single seater car. I'm just thinking that it would be a more reasonable car if it had 2 seats. But since it's a fictional car we don't have to worry about the commercial aspects of it :P

here's an old model of @eran0004's with a few additionsView attachment 285409

It's actually @787bcgr 's design, and @Nessy 's sketch.

Thanks. You're the first (and only) person to notice what i did there. I think i may have drawn them a bit too big, but you get the idea. 👍

It connects to the old Japanese cars where the mirrors were attached to the front of the car, rather than the doors.

Here's the first render of the Volvo Kei car, by the way :gtpflag:

The car should be an MR only ... 1200 kgs / 2645.5 lb ... No electric power ... Ceramic brakes front and back ... (Someone with suspension experience should advise us on what's the best modern suspension setup for this car) ... 18 by 8.5 front wheels / 18 by 9.5 or 10 for the back wheels ... CF wheels ... All aluminum chassis and body panels ... (Also, someone with experience needs to recommend to us which steering power is best, electric or hydraulic) ... As for the engine, should be a 6 cylinder for lightness. Pick the best stock 6 cylinder racing engine out there.

Well that would change almost everything we have built from the ground-up.

It's just an idea overall. Just my two cents. Since I didn't mention anything about how it should be built.

On the other hand, I think there should be voting each day/24hrs on the main/major components of the car.

Though I agree mostly with what you said in your post before but we have already voted on the aspects of the car and the design that we are working off of. This goes for the rest too. Guys we need to stick to the guidelines and remember we are basing our designs off of @787bcgr's

I'll nominate @LosCules24SFA, any other nominees?. I think the timeframe plan could be open to the group.

@LosCules24SFA OK, then, I'll create and PM you a "Phased Project Plan" outline. Eventually the document would be published here for review, feedback and refinement by the VGT Team and ultimately it would serve to identify action items and assign tasks to specific volunteer members over the course of the project.
