GTDesigned: A Community Vision GT Project

We'll going to add a series of poll for 3 days, for now the layout

  • Total voters
    116
  • Poll closed .
Well, you can't forget that it'll be a 2-Stroke, so it sounds like a chainsaw. Or a rotary.
If you want a "modern" 2-Stroke sound, just search up the Saab Sonnet 2-Stroke. Although it is only a 3-Cylinder, it might fit the bill.

Hoping we can get a Sub Forum, so we can break the discussion into the different areas requiring development. Save some scrolling.

This will get a sub-forum (and much more) if it becomes an official project, but until then, no.

I have passed this along to the proper channels and I hope to get some feedback about its viability within the next few months. Until then, please keep showing support and sharing ideas here in this thread. 👍

The man has spoken!

Much appreciated @Jordan !

From my point of view, a name for the project is needed to let it become an official project in the near future. It's not to call every project as Project ..... and Project .... . Maybe some ideas sounds great, others don't. Because that Project .... sounds very familiar with that other title. For this community project, with hopefully a VGT as result somewhere in the next 12 months (?), Project Cars should be the enemy, we are honouring PD with our own thoughts and visions about what the future could bring.

Okay, back to the name tags I had in mind ;

1 ; Vision GTP - Sounds very the same as VGT, but with Vision as a word and now GTP as the abridgement, everything is packed in this name, (some) people from GTP had a Vision, we designed, discussed and voted for everything, this is our project, this is Vision GTP !
2 ; CommuniVision - Well, put it this way, it sounded very cool for a brief moment, but I think it's very bad afterall :D
3 ; Planet VGT - this idea popped in just yet, I think it sounds cool and like my first idea, it tells a lot of what it stands for.

Kickstarter;
Is it just me or isn't it a good idea to bring this project to kickstarter someday ? We and especially the designers are put a lot of effort & time in this project and with a low budget other designers can be hired to help with this project, like all the different versions/alternatives to vote for by us. Making clay renders of the car and professional simulations? Actually the designer doesn't have a GTP account, as long as the design of the car comes together by voting and communicaton/discussions from us, the community of GTplanet. Also 'we' could put a little bit of time/effort in merchandising the project with t-shirts and 3D printed scale models of the VGT we've made together.

It is a good idea, but it all depends on how is the ending of our project before we start making some merchandise , we also need a 3D Printer if we want to a scale model of our car. Regarding the car/project naming you have a pretty good idea there, let's see what the others are thinking.

P.s i think we can't publish the final concept here before the car is officially launched (if we get the green light) let's keep it as a teaser image first here and the finalise one in our team Facebook Group

Yes, you're totally right about the design, the merchandising and so on. It would be unlogical and a fail to launch those merchandised things before the car is unveiled. But as soon the final shape of 'our' VGT is there, solid 3d models can be made and be prepared to launch on launch date. People who supported us, get their 3d model or t-shirt when the car is launched.

We have to wait how this project rolls out and if somebody has a 3d printer, otherwise we've something it called 3D hubs and Shapeways. Only the final stages won't become public, now it's pure prototyping.

Why is the name going to be boring as hell?

Why not Peregrine, or some equally fast animal.

I like the idea of an animal spirit name alongside it's title. How about 'The Mite'. Fastest animal relative to it's size. Just found this, shame the American beat the Australian Tiger Bettle, as I thought the 'Tiger Bettle' was cool.

The title of world’s fastest land animal has changed hands. It now goes to a Southern California mite traveling under the name Paratarsotomus macropalpis, according to a team of researchers from the Claremont Colleges.

How fast is it?

The mite was recorded by the team running at 322 body lengths per second.

Translation: It’s the equivalent of Usain Bolt running at 1,300 miles per hour.

The cheetah, often described as the world’s fastest animal at 60 miles per hour, moves at a measly 16 body lengths per second.

The dethroned second-fastest animal, relative to body size, is the Australian tiger beetle at 171 body lengths per second, the researchers said.

Thank you @Jordan! :gtpflag:
This means much to everyone on this project!

GTP-VGT15 sounds awesome as a car name, but fits more for a prototype or a racing car.
Also, how about we make the entire (one section of the car, like the roof) printed with our forum names?
Similar to the recent :gtplanet: RUF car in Project C.A.R.S. game, but not as sponsors, just names, all over the roof.
(people involved with the car design and project)

As for the name, i don't have any ideas for now.
But the animal idea is great, i will try to find something as well.

And also, here's a REALLY far fetched question.
If our car gets in to the game, and becomes so extremely popular that people want to buy it.
What then?
Would you want to make it, would we start a company?
Co-operate with another to make it?

If it would come to this, i say yes.
I would love to make the car real, and work with all of you guys!

Why use Facebook ? ... Just do it here.

@kembro
Those animals are extremely fast (by my opinion) because their mass is extremely small.
It's the similar reason why insects can lift objects up to 100 times heavier then them.

The point is, try finding an animal that is no smaller then, let's say, a chair.
And no, an over sized rabbit doesn't count.:D

GTP-VGT '15 is the best name. Because well, it started by the GTP community, and we should highlight that. The maker is GTP, and the model is VGT.

But what if this works and end up doing one for GT7 as well ? ... Should this one be called GTP-VGT6 '15 (6 representing GT6) ? ... And if another one is made for GT7 it would be called GTP-VGT7 '16 (or whatever year GT7 is out) ?

Just thinking outside the box. Fast small animal.;)

Why not? But there's always the budget problem (we can overcome that problem by using a post-paid method though:D) and the facilities. I'm really looking forward to it but let's see the project result first

Are you going for a more extravagant name (similar to Lamborghini's naming style) or are you going for a more standard sounding name (like ferrari's number system)? Either way I think that a name should be added to the car so that people don't just call it a "GTP car". Something that is easier to say, and a little more catchy. I'll leave the actual word up to you guys. I just wanted to through my 2 cent in... :D

So you're suggesting an exotic name for our VGT? That's tough to think about...

I thought of the idea "GTP-VGT15", but that's it.
I'm suggesting an exciting one.

Peregrine, Cheetah, Bloodhound, Nighthawk, Shark, SuperSonic, Vulcan, Concorde.

Fast sounding things really. Because letters and a number are just so dull...
