Nice pics. I'm surprised to see that I'm in more than one. :P The one with Sach's Civic and the navy Golf on the back hairpin. That is very dramatic. Love that one.

Yes it is! That pic is on the lock screen on my
iPhone and looks gooooooooooood

hey guy i was wondering what yall would think about if we did along side this series or another time a DTM series? i was looking at all the cars (which are available in online dealership) and they are all about the same power. i think this would be a fun series to run and very close racing. plus we could run the same rules and everything. any thoughts?

also for ppl who dont know what DTM is

I'd definitely go for that!!

yeah but reason i came here is becuase you guys are a great group of racers and everything here is put together well. just thought id stick with you guys

He's got a great point there! I'd love to stick with the group...

Yes me too good group and all close in the level of racing. And for my first time doing a online series Suprflow u did and doing a good job putting this together and keep it together.

I would be down for a DTM series, those cars seem to handle great and would be easy (this term is relative:) ) to race in a pack.

Also good race on saturday guys, I need to find a better setup to try and get the tank, or I mean VW to turn a bit better, then hopefully I can challenge for a win or two.

SSR5, I hate that track, but I would be down for the 1 hour, nothing like an endurance race to help you learn a track :). When would this race be??

The Enduro is in 2 weeks after Monza which is next week.

Actually for the Offseason of the ITCC i was thinking of an Ferrari Challenge Spec series with the F430, or the Scuderia.

Lets just keep this to an ITCC thread only and not suggestions or links to other series.

And you know I'm in for that one too!!

Well, I really don't know if I can handle the hour-long race. It isn't that I don't think I can handle an hour long race, it is just depressing to run around on a track for an hour by myself. I'm finishing half a lap behind everyone after ten laps. I'll be finishing laps down after an hour. I only see people when we start reverse grid, and then I only see them for through the first turn or so and that's it. I guess in this race I'd at least see them when I pull over to let them lap me.

I'll try to make every other race this season, even though I am not really racing, just because I don't want to quit or let anyone down. I just don't figure there is much of a reason for me to sign up for a second season.

I'd love a environment where drivers are grouped together by ability, but that idea doesn't seem to be popular at all.

Hey man! Don't say that! Don't think like that! We are all here to have fun and learn! I bet you are a lot better now than you were before, keep on doing it and you'll see! Practice practice practice!

Actually I thought about ending the season with an enduro at Cape Ring. But if i did change it, it would still be an hour race.

I'm open for suggestions.

For season 2 if there is enough people, I would have people run a small 5 lap race around a certain track and tell me their total time. Then I would group them into 2 divisions the best I could.

Suprflow is this the only track u had in mind for the 1hr race?

Which Cape Ring track do you have in mind? The entire course or one of the shorter configurations?

Would Circuit de la Sarthe 2009 be another possibility?

This is the kind of thing I am looking for. But, with the drivers currently here, the two divisions would be very close. And I'd still be running distant last in the bottom on. :P

Maybe we can get enough people to make it big enough to have more than one bad driver. :)

Actually the online race series I ran for GT1 & 2 used a very unique system to accomplish something similar which yielded excellent results. It was called EZGT and was based on a principal I referred to as "self handicapping" similar to how amateurs play golf.

Basically it worked like this: everyone repeated the process Silver-Sylph used when he determined the power levels for own current cars. Run the cars against a known "goal time" and tune up till you reach that time. If your good and go faster then the allotted time you must remove HP. This way each car became tuned to an individuals skill level. It also leveled the cars automatically to each other so you could have RWD, AWD, FF, MRs all racing together. If you want more details I can provide them.

The main downside is it takes serious testing effort on everyone's part and its very easy to cheat, thus honesty becomes key. If GT5 had a weight ballast system the EZGT system would be nearly perfect, however with limited HP mods its kind of tricky. The real problem is people always improve as the season moves on, thus you are constantly re-testing the cars in order to keep them on a level playing field.

The other small issue is the same one we have now: certain cars have distinct advantages on certain tracks. The only way around this is for people to run the entire season so the track mix equals out in the end with some high speed courses and some more technical handling circuits.

As for more endurance races - I think one is enough.
The current two race system with the reverse grid gives drivers a second chance if they screw up in race #1. In a long race it may be impossible to overcome a really bad start or early crash, especially since we don't have any "real world" mechanical failures to worry about. Its not like the leader is going to cut a tire and have to pit giving others a chance to make up the time. The longer the race the more skill becomes a factor as consistent fast times will allow a sizeable lead to build.

We will only do one enduro race. Your EZGT suggestion is good but as you said is easy to cheat with and you can't ever take HP away slowly by adding and taking off parts. I personally like the fact that all the cars handle and race differently. Gives you a chance to pick the car that best suites your driving style. But one thing for the Enduro race is damage will be set to Heavy so you have to pit when you get into a serious crash.

So for an hour race at SSR5 would be close to 40 laps.

EDIT: Just a reminder that once qualifying finishes you exit to pit lane and stay there til the race starts. You are not allowed to go out on track.
