Did a quick test, no tuning, just with the cars @ the correct spec.

1: Mito 0.000
2: Mini +0.099
3. Clio +0.476
4. Fit +0.613

The Mito and Mini are a bit on the quick side compared with the Clio and Fit. Tuning may affect them differently though, my test was stock, so only a guide pre-tuning.

Cheers mate, I did do tuning for my testing but the more data we can get the better. With tuning I was finding the Fit the fastest car around Silverstone National last week.

If adjustments are needed we will make them 👍

Lobby going up in the next 5 minutes :D

Silverstone national isn't a technical track though, so the Fit would probably be best due to it being light.

Tuning will no doubt change my results, but they are my initial findings so far. I'll keep you posted as things develop. 👍

Many thanks :) you are right although at Silverstone the car with the highest peak speed was the Mito!

Firstly thanks to everyone who got involved tonight  here are my thoughts from the test:

Cars seem pretty close, 3 different cars in the top 3 in both race 1 and 2 and in each race it was 3 different drivers, balancing seems decent although its difficult to say how the Honda performs. This is subject to some testing that is ongoing.

Driving standards seemed good, thanks all for that.

I preferred race 2 to race 1 (except the result), I think the faster tyre wear and increased draft were improvements although the draft may have been a little extreme. I think this will be less of a problem on tracks without the huge pit straight so I am inclined to say we go with fast wear and weak draft in both race 1 and 2.

I think race 3 worked well with very fast wear and around 25-30 minute duration, the SM's finally seemed to have a point and it seemed like pitting twice so that you could only run 1 lap on the SM's wasn't the optimum strategy which I am glad about, there seemed to people taking a number of different strategies and things stayed interesting until the end because of that.

The format, although interrupted by chat between races to see how things worked, seemed fine, we had the odd drop out but it didn't disrupt the racing and people were able to jump straight into the next race without any grid issues, this worked well IMO.

The track was good but I am tempted to say that we run this one reversed in the main series as the invisible wall caused major problems on a number of occasions.

I have a question about how to handle DCs during Quali, Buck had the fastest time but then disconnected. I would have still given her the point for pole, does this seem sensible?

What other observations do people have and what changes do people think need to be made?

I think you should still get the point for pole if DC'd, it's the fairest way.

Cars all seemed well balanced IMO.

I also think that we could just drop the track completely. The long straight makes it pointless again IMO.

But very fun and close all around tonight!

Some extended testing with @Ian_83 got me these times:

Mini 1:10.035
Clio 1:09.993
Mito 1:10.031
Fit 1:10.093

Every car covered by precisely .100

Took bloody ages to get into the 9s!
I'm glad that you got into the 9s though.....especially since you said we couldn't leave the lobby until one of us managed it.

In qualifying @sb360 hit the invisible wall at Turn 4 and survived. Then I came along too fast and T-boned him drivers' side. Fatal. 👍

Right, apologies for the double post, I have now added @Ian_83's votes to the track selections.

I have provisionally changed Grand Valley to Reverse in order to get around the problem of the invisible wall, this was what my vote was originally for but I changed it in order to prevent us having votes for both forward and reverse. If people don't like this change let me know and we can discuss the options but if no-one has any problem with this then we will now be running Grand Valley East Reverse 👍

It has also been bought to my attention that we may have a problem with Autumn Ring Mini simply being too short and I am inclined to agree, trying to run a racing where pit strategy is important on a track with 40 second laps is going to get messy very quickly, there will be a lot of blue flag incidents and it will likely cause a number of issues! I propose a couple of ways that we can deal with this:

1. Change it to Autumn Ring Full.
2. Exclude it from the results and ask everyone who has voted for it to make another selection (which may well be Autumn Full)

What are peoples opinions on these two track changes?

Me and Ian testing for the Honda cup, I guessing we talking about the same wall.

I then hit the wall again on race night in race 3

As you can see it's not a invisible wall, it's just a little bit that pokes out

That is the same wall but the problem is that is stops the car dead rather than bouncing off like you normally would, it means that if anyone runs wide through there with somewhere following them a massive pileup ensues which happened several times yesterday. Cheers @Duker_86 ;).

I am in favour or driving the track in reverse but if people are strongly against this change then we will explore alternatives.

I like GV the way it is really, the wall is a problem yes but hitting any wall can be a problem.
Only reason your hit it is down to driver error, or pushing to hard.
If my vote was for it forward then that was my vote.

Autumn Ring Mini sure we used it once in BTTCC and it was a good race, maybe that should be next week test track?

Sorry going back on GV don't running the full track remove the wall problem to?

Fair enough, if we run it as is I may put a track specific rule in place that says that running into that wall and causing someone else to be lose time will incur a penalty of some sort, something to encourage people to be more careful on that corner maybe?

This would also remove the problem and would be something I am open to. Good idea.

I will run some testing before next week to see just how messy it will get in terms of lap times and pit times etc, a test would be great so if there is an evening when we have a few people available for testing I will try that out :). It may get an airing at next weeks main test, I have a couple of things I want to check then anyway but I am sure we will find time to get it sorted.

Quick question it may say it in the op, Aero allowed but are flat floors ok.
I've not checked all cars and even if they can have flat floor fitted.
I know the clio can't have it, but say if the mini can it may unbalance the cars.
