Quick question it may say it in the op, Aero allowed but are flat floors ok.
I've not checked all cars and even if they can have flat floor fitted.
I know the clio can't have it, but say if the mini can it may unbalance the cars.

I am fairly sure that none of the cars can have flat floors fitted, that was part of my initial selection criteria for the 4 cars.

If any of them have the ability to have a flat floor then I would say that it should be banned but I don't think that is going to be a problem :)

A sneak preview of the results calculator and the results from yesterdays test:

Hitting my handbrake by mistake stopped me from coming top Grrrrr

Very close at the top and look at the teams standings!

1 Point between the top 3 teams! :D

Admittedly there is also 143 points between the bottom two teams but we can work on that ;)

Right just got all cars and setup, all cars that can have areo got it.
No car can have flat floor 👍
Mini got no areo options at all, see boring Mini lol

Small not the clio the only car that can have a custom rear wing.

Going to test at GV east again as Ian mailed me staying he thinks the mini quicker.
Not sure If I should drop tyre deg to normal for testing?

I'll be setting up a room in the open lobby soon, if anyone about ;)

Me and Ian stayed on last night until about 11 doing lots of testing, we had it all done on normal tyre wear settings!

My times from this were:

Mini 1:10.035
Clio 1:09.993
Mito 1:10.031
Fit 1:10.093

In my hands they are virtually identical, Ian find the Mini and the Mito about half a second quicker than the other two at the moment so its hard to say exactly where the balancing is, it will be interesting to see where you find them coming out @CptMadBean.

Welcome to the SJTCC a fun, friendly and welcoming series featuring 4 excellent little hot hatchbacks in a junior touring car format. This series has been designed to put an emphasis on simplicity and ease of competition, complex rules will be kept to a minimum, success penalties will be mild and straightforward and lobbies will be structured to minimise disruption caused by connection issues. There will be two championships up for grabs, a standard drivers championship as well as a teams/constructors trophy. Anyone who wants to get involved should reply to this thread with their GTP username, their PSN ID and their preferred choice of car.

The series is going to begin on the 09/04/2015 and will run every Thursday, we will be running a test day on every Thursday until the race itself starts.

Race format

At the start of each meeting there will be a 15 minute qualifying session to decide the grid for race 1, the starting grid for race 2 and race 3 will be determined by finishing position in the previous race, this will ensure that in the event of someone disconnecting during a session they will be able to start at the back of the grid without disrupting the evening or necessitating time consuming manual grids, for the same reason qualifying will take place in “practice” mode. Race 1 and 2 are to last roughly 20 minutes each and are to be completed on Sports Soft Tyres with a mandatory pit stop, race 3 will be a feature race lasting around 30 minutes, during this race both Sports Soft and Sports Medium tyres must be used.

Approximate Timings in GMT

Please check correct local time here, please note that Britain will move to British Summer Time on the 29th of March, I will update this section closer to the time.

18:30 - Room Open

19:00 - Track Reset, Start Race Timer Set for 15 Mins for Qualifying

19:15 - Race 1 Begins : 20 minutes

19:40 - Race 2 Begins : 20 minutes

20:10 - Race 3 Begins : 30 minutes

Scoring
The scoring system has been designed to encourage patience throughout all 3 races and allow people who start towards the back after qualifying to work their way up the field during race one and two in order to get a good starting position for race 3 with the increased points.

Points for races one and two will be awarded as follows:

1st - 25
2nd - 22
3rd - 20
4th - 18
5th - 16
6th - 14
7th - 12
8th - 10
9th - 8
10th - 6
11th - 5
12th - 4
13th - 3
14th - 2
15th - 1
Points for the feature race will be awarded as follows:

1st - 30
2nd - 25
3rd - 22
4th - 20
5th - 18
6th - 16
7th - 14
8th - 12
9th - 10
10th - 8
11th - 6
12th - 5
13th - 3
14th - 2
15th - 1
Team scoring will be based on as full a grid as can be managed, if we start race 1 of a meeting with 4 of each cars then every car will score for the team in every race that evening even if people disconnect or don't complete all 3 races. If one or more teams can only field 3 (or 2) drivers coming into race one then scores will be based on the top 3 (or 2) of each car to finish each race of the meeting. This will be locked in and based on who takes the grid for race 1 each race night.

There will be two drop scores in the drivers championship but every round will count towards the teams championship. Teams are welcome to run guest or reserve drivers if one of their 4 main drivers is unable to attend. All drivers will score points towards the drivers championship and, where possible, all cars will score towards the team championships.

Stewards reserve the right to give a reserve or backup driver a permanent seat in the event of repeated absence by a permanent driver.

The Cars

The 4 cars listed have been selected to offer very similar performance levels as standard and have been fine tuned to try and ensure the closest possible racing on track throughout the season, all are running with 250BHP and balancing has been achieved with modest changes to weights which leaves us with 4 cars which each have very similar characteristics. There is a maximum of 4 of each car available and these will be assigned on a first come - first served basis, car choice will also dictate your team so please bear this in mind when selecting a car.

Please note that whilst I have done my best to ensure that all of the cars are as equal as possible, there may still be minor specification changes prior to the start of the season as further testing is completed, you are free to change cars at any point up to the first race of the season.

All tuning parts are allowed and there are no restrictions on how the power or weight figures are achieved, all cars will be checked for weight and power levels prior to each race. Aero parts are optional but encouraged. All cars should use a race number.

The Teams

The teams championship setup is probably more accurately called a constructors championship as everyone racing will be fighting for points for their respective manufacturers in addition to drivers championship. The aim here is to add a sense of friendly competition between manufacturer teams and to encourage team tactics and tuning assistance throughout the season. The current manufacturers driving line-up are below:

Room Settings

Tyre and Fuel Depletion : Normal for Race 1 & 2, Fast for Race 3

Damage : Light

Grip Reduction at Track Edge : Real

Slipstream Strength : Real

False Starts : On

Nitrous : Prohibited

Traction Control, Stability Management and Active Steering are prohibited, ABS and Racing line are permitted.

Success Penalties

Penalties will be mild and straightforward, they will be a simple BHP figure that will need to be taken off the cars that have earned them and they will be fixed for each meeting, there will be no changes of settings between Race 1, 2 and 3 in an evening.

This system has been designed to slightly reduce the performance of those who consistently perform strongly in order to maximise the competitiveness of the series and encourage wheel to wheel racing between as many people as possible.

After each race evening a meeting leaderboard will be calculated, and the top 7 drivers will have penalties applied for their following event. Doing penalties this way allows us to negate any problems caused by people missing events or by drop scores if it was done through series standings. The penalty bandings will be as follows:

-15BHP
-12BHP
-10BHP
-8BHP
-6BHP
-4BHP
-2BHP

It will be possible for there to be multiple drivers on the same penalty level or some levels that are affecting no drivers dependent on who is and isn’t present on any given night. Penalties will be posted in the series thread prior to each race meeting and will be checked in the lobby, they will not change throughout an evening keeping race lobbies simple and streamlined.

Calendar

The race calendar will be decided by an open vote of drivers who choose to sign up, we will have 8 rounds with 3 races at each and tracks will be decided wholly by the competitors. To register your vote please list the 8 tracks that you would like to race at in order of preference, all votes will be tallied with first choice being awarded 8 points and final choice a single point, the 8 tracks with the most points after the vote is closed will dictate our race calendar.

Current voting is as follows:

31 Red Bull Ring Full
30 Autumn Ring Mini Reverse

Please note that some tracks will not be eligible for selection. The Nordschleife, Seirra and SSRX for example are going to be unsuitable for this series, I will make you aware of any issues with any selections if required.

Driving Standards

Everyone is expected to drive considerately and to follow standard code of practice when on track, it is understood that mistakes happen and some contact is inevitable but this should be minimised where possible. If you have taken a place in a manner that you feel may be unfair please pull well away from the racing line to give the position back, stewards will look favourably on those who acknowledge their mistakes and hand positions back.

There will be an expectation that no driver will cut any corners to gain an advantage, to this end each car must have two wheels on or inside the track or curbs at all times. Anyone found to be gaining an advantage by leaving the track even if positions do not change will be penalised.

If you feel that an incident required further investigation please PM @sb360 or @Doomstorm16 to allow investigation to take place, do not discuss any such incidents on this thread.

Hello Jake I think only the honda left to pick from, any questions pls pm Sb360.
First post shows you all the drivers and cars left to pick from.
Pls not what drivers numbers others have pick before picking yours.

Read all the rules on page one, then read then again ;)
There should be a test race next Thursday room opens at 18:30 it's all there in first post.

Today test info from me.....

Clio with areo 1:10.394 I can only see 100 of a sec better.
Mini 1:10.326 only a standard tune, but 200 of a sec quicker than the clio on first sector.
Alfa With areo 1:10.521, alfa bugging me on setup. It's best down the straight 134mph, but oversteer problems.
Seems to mean you need to get the car right then it's fast, can I call it the Vovlo?
Honda with areo 1:10.181, I not think this car slow really.

All above quick testing and I'm a little shocked to see the Fit get the best time, maybe some cars like areo some don't.
The honda like the Alfa 134mph max down the straight.
All rear aero set to 5%

As we are currently running out of signup spaces I am looking to check who is likely to be competing on a regular basis. The aim is to have as full a grid as possible for each race and because of that I would like to ask people who are only going to be competing rarely to drop down to reserve driver.

The drivers that I have concerns about are @ImTheConan, @glenn88 and @STOCKY8A1, how regularly do you guys think you will be able to compete?

Thanks for doing that @CptMadBean, those results all seem reasonable close and interestingly everyone is finding different cars faster, @Ian_83 thought it was the Mini or the Alfa, @buck1 thought it was the Alfa but me and you are finding the Alfa the slowest (or at least the worst to drive) it is shaping up to be a good opening season with very close cars. :D

Yeah I think more playing with the Afla the car would be great.
How on earth I did so well in the Fit, with Ian saying it slow I don't know?

I did like 20 laps in Mini, Clio, Afla, 4 laps in the Fit

Mini quick but it's boring to drive, boring in looks just plain boring, but thanks to Ian the BMW sales man.
I now own my first GT6 Mini lol :(

In testing today I meet two drivers looking to join, but one had to run off.
Shame he was in his fifhys and could of meant me not be the oldest driver in here lol.

Race 1 test with Jake Anderson, tyres set on fast deg draft weak.
We also had some kid on track messing things around, but Jake racing standards seem very good.
I guess he still need to learn tight pack driving or be tested in that.

But in all he had that fit on my rear end alot and he found the wall of death to lol.
I had to wait for him a few times one wall of death and other time when the kid on the server knocked him off track.
Then I tried playing him for the finish line, dam I came second GRRRR.

Anyway hope you do well Jake, but you need testing in the pack.
Driving in a pack, can take it's toll learning other drivers and how we drive.
Car toeing my draft then you toeing that car, then trying to find a new braking point without drive boming all in front.
Or worse hitting the car in front can be a nightmare.

You did say you been looking for clean and fair racing, fingers crossed you come to the right place.
But come real live race night, we can all hit high nerves and do are 100% best.
Then it all go wrong by you trying to hard or someone esle trying to hard.

Anyway there a test next Thursday make sure sb360 gives you all the info to join it and get your butt there.
I'll not be able to make the next test night, yes Pam I'm working :(
But you have a track vote to do jake and get yourself sorted with all the race rules.

Sb360 is the door of info, Ian may make you buy a Mini for testing.
Any problems mail Sb360 in racing standard or just questions.

Thanks @CptMadBean, I hope you know you aren't being paid for all this advertising ;)

@jake anderson it sounds like you are going to do well here, currently the only space that is definitely available is the Honda Fit but there may shortly be an opening in the Mini or the Alfa too depending on what happens with the people I tagged a few posts back.

Autumn Ring Mini sure we used it once in BTTCC and it was a good race

We didn't race Autumn Ring Mini. We did race Autumn Ring Full though and it was good besides one or two people cutting the chicane in sector 2 (I think it was 2). Anyway, nope, no we didn't race AR Mini.

I am hoping the the scoring spreadsheet will be complete tonight or tomorrow, it will likely depend on how much alcohol I consume. When its done I will post a link up here for people to look at and play with 👍

I was braking down to 4th i had too :ill: pretty sure doom & madbean were taking it flat

Might have been, Ian was dabbing the brakes when I followed him through, didn't see a lot of Bean and Doom at the test so they might have been going flat.

I certainly wasn't changing down.
