GTP Code of Conduct: Guide for online racing

I can't grasp how someone who races in dubious ways can get into a 'while list' just because he complimented you after the race.
Did you/anyone raced him on other occasions? How did he behave on the track?

The standards for making it on the list should really be a bit higher.

I agree, but after reading this,

I raced him around 8 times in a row the first day but made my black list nomination after about the third race. I decided it was a wrong choice because after we'd raced a few times I could see that he wasn't being mindlessly dirty, he'd just been agressive and happened to nudge me a few times when I'd been in a position that put me off the circuit.

At the end of the day, he contacted me to thank me for my driving.

Earlier on today, I raced him another four or five times and we both gave each other space and had a number of one-two finishes.

The extra info was enough to go ahead & add him IMO.

Hmm yeah racing incidents can happen, I've bee overtaking people on the inside with plenty of room and a car with plenty of grip to keep a tight line and easily avoid contact, hen some guy uses you as a brake and punts into the back of you. You then just accelerate and start to slide out collecting the car on the outside as you go. Now the poor guy on the outside is just aware that you apear to have used him to lean on round the corner.........your blacklisted! Now when we get coms explinations can be given and the culprit can be named and shamed at the time of the incident....It may be that he was punted because he braked early of the guy behind him or even him himself was running with ABS off or his level of grip and braking was less than mine! There are prety obvious cheaters, leaning on you on a straight or constantly leaning on you and everyone else in the corners but I think 50% of incidents are simply mistakes or miss judgments. With the 111rs I tend to go with the cars I enjoy driving and racing midfield with guys doing the same as me LOL I have to say the vast majority of guys I race are clean racers.

Yeah this has happened to me quite a bit, so much so I might start sending apologetic messages because I feel really bad when I get shunted and end up hitting the guy in front into a barrier who then gets a barrier penalty.

Id like to nominate Daveshep. Good clean racer who knows what a racing line and breaking points are. Wish i could say that about everyone i've raced with.
I hate hitting the right breaking point for a corner and getting rear ended and getting put in the barrier....and guess who gets the penalty!!

Dont see my name on there :( im a fair racer never bump in to people on perpose if i do i slow down wait for them to pass me again but i guess i'll have to wait for my name to be put up there (ApexRacer) BTW

bjmels was clean. Though he was behind me while I battled a slow Elise driver which constantly brake tested me to avoid him it was refreshing to see some patience and curteousness for him avoid rear ending me. He's also one of the few R8 drivers I seen which hardly had an accident at Suzuka. 👍

Just keep racing like that & you'll get noticed by someone here.
If you've had a real good race with someone from GTP contact them with a message through the PSN & let them know your from here.

Unfortunately it's always easier to remember the guy that punted you off every race than it is to remember the guy who raced you clean.

Just finished a race in London with visitation. A one on one race, him in an Amuse, me in the F430. It was very close and clean. A joy to race with him. Oh yeah,...and he beat me by about a tenth of a second. Maybe next time....

What do you all think of starting this thread over & having different threads for the different regions?

Since the Japanese version doesn't play with the EU or NA version maybe someone in each region should start a separate thread so it'll be easier to locate drivers you will actually be racing with?

I know once the North American version comes out I probably won't be playing my Japanese version anymore.

I know I ain't been around here long but I'll gladly take up the EU side of things if the threads do end up splitting. I'm a huge GT fan and race very cleanly myself (hopefully one day someone will spot me). I usually have a lot of free time in the evenings once the kiddies have gone to bed, it'd be good to contribute something back to an ace forum :D

You should PM a mod & get the OK.

I'll probably start a new thread myself when the North American version comes out.

i had some fun and clean races on high speed ring last night with horli

he (or she?) was driving a tuned cappucino. at one point we were neck and neck heading for the finish line, both of us held station, no hint of a nudge

i reckon he/she should go on the white list 👍

Chris1975 👍👍👍 ...

Had a few good clean races. One of which where it was just the two of us, which that race is the best online race Ive had so far.

I would like to nominate a racer called: PSN ID: OFFLINE

Its all in caps. I had a cracking race, never raced this guy before, was on the daytona track, it all got hectic when all the cars were close together. I lost it completly, it was caused by some idiot. However I lost it completly, I took out this 'OFFLINE' fella. Perhaps others too.

We ended up at the back of the pack, with some other nutter, who tried to take me out and this other guy. OFFLINE never bit to be fair to the guy/girl, who raced clean so thumbs up to him.

We had clean battle, both taking turns overtaking each other to which he over took me right on the finishing line.

I'd like to nominate Remidaft.

A good, clean (lotus!) driver. Happy to race with.

Shh, don't let some of the brits see you say that. They'll report your post like they did mine! :(

Indeed, I would like to nominate him too, And Wegberg, I would like to nominate you too, raced against you guys last day and yes, great races!!!

Unlucky for me i changed my car and came in another group where it wasn't clean at all Laragga kept on braking when he passed somebody to nudge them out of tarmac areas...

I've changed my name into GTP-Michel a few days ago, makes it a bit easier to recognize ppl from here. I've raced Sjaak on two occasions and some other people who's name I sadly forgot, but all in all it was a fun weekend. I must say the amount of idiots/wreckers was pretty low but maybe that's because most of them were in bed already seeing that I usually race after +/- 22pm local time.

About the name OFFLINE : That could've been anyone. You automatically get the name "OFFLINE" when you somehow loose connection in the middle of a race. It then obviously prompts you out of the race but IF you get your connection back again without completely restarting the game, PSN network doesn't recognize you and gives you an OFFLINE-id. I've had it happen to myself yesterday at one occasion.

I think I raced you this weekend on Fuji. I was driving a red Evo X /tuned and you were in a grey (?) GT-R. I don't know if you remember or not but it was definitely the stand out race I had this weekend. It was a field of about six cars and we ran away at the front and had a good battle over the three laps, swapping the lead a lot, never more than about a second apart. You're a very good racer mate, quick and clean 👍

Yea that was me in the GT-R, I remember you yup :) You were very clean too 👍 I thought I'd take the GT-R for a change and have some fun races with it, usually I race with the Elise on Suzuka so I'm quite a noob on Fuji lol. Enjoyed racing with you :)

Been playing against you sometimes on Suzuka, you had the grey gt-r. Could not quite remember the race, but I think you won. :)
Driving a navyblue elise.

saw you in suzuka 650pp race yesterday. you always dissappeared in the two races that i raced with you.

There were a couple of races where I was with the lead pack and a few I was trailing in the rear 👍

Yup, guess so:)
Anybody that plays now? Thinking of taking some races on Suzuka.

\0/ been nominated. Why thank you. I am not the best at racing though I am clean.

Shh, don't let some of the brits see you say that. They'll report your post like they did mine! :(

I am a Brit :sly:

How come they reported you? For hating Lotus drivers?

Btw, The name in the name list 'Ivy87' is mean't to be 'Ivy27'.

The "brits" are quite fine with shouting down the Lotus fanboys too, cheers. We do have many other great manufacturers which are in some areas superior to Lotus (like Le Mans performance). So there :)

Ok, i cant resist, being a "brit", i have to add that i work for lotus, on the production line. and have just built 11 fine elise/exige's today. =)
