Which is a completely acceptable reason to vote any car meh and would have gone unchallenged had it been on any other cool wall.

People must not read most of each other's posts then? Because I could of sworn that I too didn't find it Sub Zero at first, but no one bat an eyelid.

I don't think people realize, looks don't necessarily define a car's coolness. I'd be shocked if he saw a random F1 going down the street and didn't bat an eye lid. For a base Mondeo or Camry or *insert meh car here* to have the same amount of coolness of a legendary sports car... doesn't seem right to me?

Please tell me you're not seriously trying to draw a correlation between a quantifiably proven mathematical expression and matters that deal entirely with personal opinion...

Sorry, it was a joke. I'll go hand in my fun card now.

My absolute favorite Hypercar of all time and all 3 variations I think are very cool in their own right. Though, I still don't think the F1 GT nor F1 LM could be as cool as the original F1. This is a Supercar Hypercar where you won't see idiots driving it that flaunt their wealth. So, it deserves a high Sub-Zero. Plus, Jay Leno and Rowan Atkinson own one (what? I like those guys). :P

Oh, good, just what we needed was for someone to take Jmoney's place.
Nope. I know we're in full circle jerk mode at the moment, but there is an important distinction many people seem to be missing. This is how a typical Jmoney (or White & Nerdy or in the past Slashfan) post would go:

"This car is uncool because of *obviously incorrect factual statement which oftentimes contradicted a statement made in a different thread or even the same sentence sometimes*."

These ranged from such gems as "wire wheels were only acceptable on cars from the 1930s" to "this car can't be a sports car because it didn't have 300+ horsepower from a V8" to "Miatas can't be cool because they are stereotypically driven by homosexuals" and everything in between.

He would then (deservedly) be torn apart over it.

This is how this thread has gone so far:

"What people didn't vote this car sub-zero?"

"Here's the names"

"It really shouldn't make any difference, but I'm on that list because I think it's ugly"

And then the thread goes completely off the rails because how a subjective opinion on a car's looks is an unacceptable reason to deviate from the "correct" subjective majority opinion; and increasingly facile attempts to correlate the subjective concepts with objective ones. Incidentally, the fact that car guys generally always act this same way regarding this specific car whenever it comes up (frequently whenever the Veyron is mentioned in comparison) is one of the reasons I voted Uncool.

The little things. For instance, they could have used paddle shifters but instead used a manual so you feel closer to your car. Everything about it is great. Sub Zero.

I'm not commenting on anyone's opinion, I just don't agree with the "My opinion, leave me alone" sentiment. This is a discussion forum, not a statement forum. Press conference, not a speech. I expect reasoning, especially for those who disagree with the majority. Because it's easy enough for the people in the majority; there is only one way to agree with someone. But with the minority opinion, there are an infinite number of ways to disagree with someone.

Paddle shifting would have been interesting, but probably an enormous development cause. In the years the F1 was being developed, Formula One itself had only just begun to adopt paddle shifters starting with Ferrari in '89 & by the time McLaren got around to them for the 1992 season, the F1 road car had already debuted.

I understand what you're saying, the reasons why Blood Eagle doesn't think the F1 is a cool car is much different than what reasoning Jmoney usually used. As opposed to thinking a car is uncool for having wire wheels or something similarly daft, Blood Eagle just doesn't like the way it looks. That's fine, I have no problem with why he voted the way he did, hell, I've always thought the F1 wasn't a great looking car myself.

My issue is more that when called out on it (Which, in hindsight, wasn't really appropriate, given that it's something so subjective as styling) the word "opinion" is being used to avoid giving a good explanation. This is something that Jmoney did frequently, and that's why I said what I did.

Ferarri even adapted large portions of the drivetrain from the early 1990s F1 cars (and more closely, the 333) and slapped them right into the F50, and even that had a traditional stick. The technology in general probably wasn't understood enough to put in a road car.

I'll tell you a story now that I have time. When I was growing up in Texas as a young man, someone gave me a McLaren F1 scale model as a birthday present. I don't remember the size. It was bigger than a Matchbox or Hotwheels but not as big as a 1:24 scale model. Somewhere between the two. Anyways, I liked the toy and I hated the back of it lol. In 1994, I was 12 years old. One of my favorite things about that scale model was the roof scoop. Not sure why. I also had a scale 1987 Ferrari F40 that I loved. The odd part about that is the taillights are very similar between the two. I really disliked the McLaren rear for whatever reason a 12 year old dislikes anything. I eventually forgot about the F1. This thread revitalized the memory. I still hate the back of it 20 years later. I voted meh. Sorry. A 15 year old kid from NZ will not change that and or the rest of you youngins that wikipedia'd the F1 and formed their vast knowledge based on that and google images. Don't worry, a meh vote has no swing. I didn't affect the positve votes from the fanboys. Please accept my apology for having a differing opinion from you but realize that your opinion is no more valid than mine. Continue which hunt. The internet is serious business. Cyber bullies lol

*calls us cyberbullies*

*is one calling names and jumping to conclusions*

And, so you're saying, just because I'm young does not mean I can research and know a bit about this car (even though I do not and have never lead to the conclusion that I do)? And I'm sorry to say, I have no way around that, unless you have one of those dangled time machines?

With your logic, history is a pointless subject.

I should have used sarcasm font. I couldn't care less what random internet folk think. Kid logic is a lot different that adult logic. I know it's hard for you to grasp. Bump this thread in 15 years and see if you still agree with what you've said. Witch hunt commence! I know the internets pretty well.

If you are so determined to sit in your little bubble, completely ignoring what everyone else has to say, what was the whole purpose of your post? No one made you post. You don't have to post, but if you do, you have to face the consequences of it, and*gasp*, discuss your reasoning on a discussion forum.

And please, stop calling me kid. You are obviously older but you sure don't have the mindset to prove it.

Thanks for the info, boss. You are a smug little boy.

Kid, vote cool for stuff you think is cool.

I weep for modern day youth where they can process massive amounts of information but can't understand simple thought. Overanalization of simple things. Voted meh. End of story. Who's justification? My own. 'Merica

the rest of you youngins

You'd be wise to fix your attitude here.

SomePlayaDude reacts when he found out that the McLaren F1 is NOT going to be alongside the Miura.

And because of these results, the Miura will be forever alone up there...

I hope you get 1,000 likes for that. You should make my PMs public too. Obviously, that's the way to make a point around here rather than a PM from yourself as fair warning. That's what Mods do, right?

A post is public to any member as long as it's not in the infield. A PM is private. I don't see what you're trying to say.

In fact, I went through your other posts and found that first quote in 20 seconds. Says a lot about someone who joined two weeks ago.

The ignore feature works pretty well. As the new guy, I have experienced a bit of mob mentality towards me. Reading my posts is one thing, but if you don't read why I'm responding that way, it's because of the way I'm currently being treated by people who have been on the forum longer. I'm a reasonable guy. I like to talk about NASCAR and guns. If you don't feel like reading, hit a button and eliminate it. I promise I won't take it personally.
