GTP Cool Wall: 1997 Marcos Mantis

Ancient bones... really weird rear end... and does it smell of horses, too? At least TVR weird is sexy weird. This isn't. Sorry... too ugly to be anything but uncool.

Now this is a cool Marcos:

The one in the poll? Not so. At least the 1800 it's based on looks sleek.

COOL-> Before I know about Marcos (car company), I thought it was made by a Philippine President (Ferdinand) Marcos.

-> But when I saw the Mantis on a automotive catalog magazine Auto Motor und Sport: Auto Katalog back in 1996, The Mantis was the main car under the said manufacturer. And since then; I was aware of the marque to this day.

OT-> One thing I was skeptical ever since GT4 was released, why oh why was the Mantis wasn't featured? Instead, we only get the Mini Marcos thats it!

The race car, pretty awesome. The road car? Designers went something like this:

"Ok! Lets get the blueprints of the Viper and just give it a few tweaks!"

I give it a meh.

I honestly cannot see the relation between the viper and this...
I have a 1/18 of a viper right next to me, and the marcos doesn't have any resemblence whatsoever to to it xD

Not the best-looking car in the world, but far from the ugliest. Not all that fast either - "only" 150mph from a 4.6L V8. So you're thinking I'm going with "meh" at this point.

But it's rare(ish) and has an awesome name. Cool.
