Honestly, that video was painful to watch. It wasn't so much a "meet up" as a bunch of idiots taking over two sets of traffic lights to demonstrate their throttle control, which had the quality and grace of a 2009 Toyota recall. And it was absolutely deplorable how that last guy just ploughed into the next carriageway of traffic.

Or is that the norm in Texas?
We too busy wreckin' all the domestics.

Not sure why Mustang owners just love staying on the throttle.

It's fun to stay on throttle but you have got to know when to get off it. Every time I see an old one in one of those videos they don't even get on it.

It always seems like a total surprise to them, like they never could have imagined the car might yaw to the side.

Of course! They all must have learned to drive on Gran Turismo.

It's already been pretty scary to see people I know are bad drivers get their hands on third-hand early 90s Camaros and Mustangs when the prices have been driven down to "used-Civic" levels. Gonna be truly terrifying when the same thing happens in ten years where even the secretary's special Camaro and Mustnag have more horsepower than the best ones you could get in 1997.

Did that last guy really just stay in it whilst fish tailing?

These kids think this Need For Speed or something. SMH. :dunce:

The 03/04 Cobra's had an issue of the accelerator pedal sticking to the carpet at full throttle. If I remember correctly, the black Cobra in this video was a victim of this problem. (I used to be an active member of svtperformance) I had an accelerator pedal stick to the floor before in my '91 Mustang. My reaction was "better", I just stabbed the clutch in and let the motor sing to 8,000+rpm. Better than a crash, in my book.

I'd like to think it won't get to that point. It seems to me people are getting conscious enough that, while the performance variants may remain available, the econoboxes won't reach those standards. They're still a ways away and times are a-changin'.
