GTP Exhaust + Car best Combo's

This is quite a surprise to me mate! :dunce:
Wasn't the racing exhaust from supercars always producing that generic exhaust note? So I left mine in stock. :)

Only in v12's (Mclaren F1, Zonda R (Stock it has the Titanium racing) the LP640 and the Aventador etc.).

Have you guys actually compared the real life Aventador sound to the gt5 version? Stock for stock, they are pretty close actually, and on a good sound system there really isn't much in it.

When you learn that good system is not doing car sound? It's made by samples and when done well, then it will sound well even on mobile phone. But when sound programmers do use V-10 samples for V-12 car then you have to be at least half-deaf to be satisfied.

Anyone else wish you could swap out the Saleen S7's titanium exhaust for a sports exhaust? Sweet car but I really dislike that sound =(

Totally agree, Imprezas have the fakest sounds, either that or the UK Imprezas in real life all have the wrong sound .
the "premium" imprezas in GT5 all have a different engine than say a us/euro spec model, they have a newer JDM only 2.0, it's higher revving with a twin scroll turbo charger(for example both spec C), where as the boxer rumble comes from a older but still used 2.5 turbo unit, most standard imprezas and legacy's have the boxer rumble with stock exhaust, for example the WRX STI VERSION V' 98.

So the main list should be changed, All premium imprezas sound exactly how they do in real life. Also the spec C standard both of them.

So in reality, any subaru on GT5 where you change the exhaust and it loses it's boxer rumble if it has it, you can just say you swapped in a JDM 2.0 L engine.

And i will be the first to say the RX7 FD with titanium exhaust sounds pretty close to the 20b rotary engine.

And this thread needs a sticky.

👍 Exactly what I was saying previously. I never dare to change the exhaust in any Impreza in the game, because they'll sound like a six cylinder. Also, the Spec C Type RA sounds exactly like the real thing.

That's why I left mine in stock.

I know. The F1, Murcielago, LFA, Zonda R, and Enzo all sound the same with the racing exhaust. But I rather have that same repetitive sound in the Aventador since it's a V12 sound, than have an Aventador sounding like it has a V10. I don't know how others can play like that, for me it just ruins the realism. If I see a car that doesn't sound like it's supose to, or can't be fixed, I simply don't play with it.

I usually choose the exhaust that best replicates at least the type of engine that the car has. Most likely it will be the stock exhaust. I've heard a lot of LFA's online sounding like V12's, Toyota 86's sounding like they have a six cylinder engine, Vipers with a strange and undefined sound, M5's sounding like V8's, and the list is endless... That really enrages me, but I understand that everyone is free to do whatever they want in the game.

sorry if this has been asked but, do sounds change if Manifolds, Cat Converters, Air Filters, are interchanged?

I´ve always wondered that. Some say it does sound a bit raspier, and to some point I thought the same. But I think it's a placebo effect. Also, I don't think that PD would mind to add something like that. So no, it really doesn't change the sound.

I think that what happens is when you install some mods such as ECU, exhaust header, etc, it does raise the revlimit and powerband for most cars and installing the semi-racing flywheel makes the revs climb faster, so the higher revlimit + faster revs may sound a bit different...

I get what you mean. 👍
It's a shame that all Lambos lost their unique engine sounds when exhaust pipes are changed. So I'll use a racing exhaust for my Aventador then. :)

and yeah, I'm also trying to choose the type of exhaust that could best represent the real life sound for my cars. Hope there're more members could contribute to the list. I'd also like to help, but I'm not too keen on distinguishing different types of engine sounds like V10 and V12 and so on, I can tell the difference between V8 and V10 though. :dopey:

So after buying quite a few more cars I have made some discoveries. First, the '94 Impreza WRX STi has the proper EJ20 rumble with the stock exhaust and is the most amazingest thing ever, the Buick Grand National's small block V8 sounds just as amazing stock, and the Pontiac GTO 5.7 Coupe is pretty kickass with the sporta exhaust pipe on. I also took my green dragon ZO6 Corvette for a little drift and founs out just how good the semi-racing pipes sound when sideways ^_^

Speaking of the GTO, I find it strange that a titanium exhaust on the GTO and the Monaro are 2 completely different sounds despite being the exact same car. The monaro sounds terrible :(

Buick Grand National actually has a 3.8l turbo v6!!! Not a small block v8.:)

I never typed V8! :sly: hehe, thanks for correcting that again, I need to spend less time arguing about the 1UZ and more time not getting a Japanese engine mixed up with an American one from another decade!

Speaking of which, the 3UZ powered Lexus SC430/Soarer 430SCV are both to die for. VIP looks and one hell of an exhaust noise :D

Mazda
Mazda RX-7 (FD) - Semi-Raxing Exhaust.
[/COLOUR]
I belive the one who reccomended this said the premium RX-7's.
The '91 efini Type R and the '02 Spirit R Type A dount share exhaust notes with any exhaust, although the Spirit R's semi-racing is the same as the efini's full racing exhaust note, which sounds good imo if unrealistic.

As for the standard ones, they dont sound the same as each other either, at least not all of them. The '01 Type R Bathurst shares its semi-racing with the Spirit R, but none else (its full racing sounds like the R8 LMS).
The '96 efini Type RS sounds different again, but shares the full racing exhaust with the premium '91 efini Type R.
Though all of the 4 do have very simmilar stock exhaut notes, perhaps the same.

I find the 1200 sounds pretty good with the Titanium Racing, however the Semi kinda makes it sound like a V8...
and I tried the Sports on the Z/28, it just didn't sound V8ish to me...

Spyker C8 Laviolette '01 - Stock. only oil change & custom tranny, top speed set to 310 km/hr.

Beautiful low Hz tone. Perhaps same as Aston Martin, not sure yet.

Such a nice fast stable car on the Nurburging, even with a whopping 200kg Ballast. It will reach 300km/hr at the top after the final stretch, and brake with stability. (505pp)

Although, you can't hear it much in a replay. It's in stealth mode, or drowned out amongst the other cars next to me.

Someone quickly asked me for a trade to get this car, .. nope!

I put the Semi-Racing (eh don't quite know the GT5 exact term) exhaust on my restored AE86 Levin with a supercharger, and it sounds EXACTLY the same as Takumi's 20v 4AG AE86 from the 4th stage anime! i was like woah

My only problem with it is that it isn't as fast as it sounds! Great car to drive though, and a fantastic note.
