GTP Exhaust + Car best Combo's

There are 3 E46 M3's in the game. The regular M3 '04, which sounds like a 6 cyl, the M3 CSL, whichs sounds like a 6 cyl and the M3 GTR, which sounds like a V8 because it has a V8.

Sorry for bringing this old topic up but I just had to point that out. :dopey:

No thats fine this thread is pretty helpful It would always be alive ;)

Semi-race got the "screw" charackteristics :sly:

In rl those two sound like they got a box of screws in their exhaust pipes, the CSL got even more screws. (imo the csl sound is  )

I do remember that my dad used to have a M3 Convertible E46 (with a modified, straight piped exhaust).

That sound from there seemed really similar as compared to the normal M3 E46 in game (with racing exhaust). Oh boy that straight 6 sound was good :D

This is cool. But isn't the sound a personal preference thing?

No, this is a realism thread, not best sounding.
Example - The BMW M5 sounds the MOST REALISTIC, but has the BEST sound with the full race exhaust, unfortunately it sounds like Nascar with that exhaust so it isn't the most realistic:idea:

THAT, my friend, is a good point. :P

I hope this thread isn't dying, I think it's a great idea. It's definitely persuaded me to try a whole lot of cars just to hear the best engine sounds.
And the Silvia K's Dia Selection is my new favourite car. So much so that I now know there aren't any for sale in the UK.
And I'd like to submit the Maserati Gran Turismo S '08 with with either stock exhaust or the sports exhaust. Both sound great but I'm not quite sure which one is most realistic.

VW Beetle 1200 66' should be semi-racing, not stock. The semi-racing exhaust is awesome, makes the car so much fun to drive.

Oh, apparently this thread is about realistic sounds, not bad-ass sounds. Well, if you are looking for a bad-ass sound, this is the way to go. Also, the Subaru Blitzen with semi-racing is good too.

Realistic. Not "Bad-ass".

If memory serves, the stock sound of the GranTurismo S is that of a flatplane V8 (probably a Ferrari). Although it is still a good sound, it should be a cross-plane, unfortunately.

Ruf BTR '86 with Racing exhaust sounds like a tuned and no CAT 80's (930) to 90's (964) 911 Turbo.

Also NO upgraded exhaust and manifold sounds on par with a beefy tuned 911.

From the idle and low RPM burbling to the high RPM sounds of a Boxer 6, the sounds seems on par from what I've heard at meets with 911's.

Yep, sounds really good and accurate for GT5 standards.

I just wish we could remove the turbo from it, and have pure NA boxer 6 awesomeness =)

The RGT is NA but it sounds different than the BTR and Yellowbird.

I already posted about the standard Zondas...but I got to say, they really sound great.

Here's to hoping PD adds the Zonda Cinque to GT6. :)

Toyota Supra 3.0GT Turbo A '88 - Racing Exhaust

Well, I didn't read the whole thread if someone has already said this, but the text in this quote is total BS. You can never get that kind of sound out of an inline 6 engine. Semi racing exhaust is waaaaaay better. No lies.

^ It still sounds much more realistic than the other exhausts. The stock one despite sharing the sound of the C63 AMG is accurate for a crossplane V8 engine. The only thing it's missing is the supercharger whine + smooth gearshifts.

Yep! Wish it was a little throatier.. But it is definitively better stock then paired up with an exhaust.
EDIT: The Semi-Race exhaust sounds good, but not realistic. Sounds the same as every V8 with a Semi-race..

Are the exhausts listed in the OP with headers/ cat or just the exhaust? And, has anyone noticed if there is a difference in sound with the two mods mentioned above?

I haven't noticed anything different, but I could be wrong.

I'm pretty sure that the only "sound changers" are the Exhausts (obvious), and the Engine Stage 1-3 upgrades, because it raises the Rev Limiter, leaving more room for - Noise.
