GTP F1 World championship. *PS3* Interest.F1 2010-2016

Or eenie meenie minie moe?

But seriously, perhaps we may have to divide the championship into a NTSC and a PAL championship, of course to reduce lag. So, that would make 24 spots. Also, a different championship for the Xbox 360 users.

IDK. I've raced plenty of EU guys on Forza 2 & 3 w/o serious lag issues.

Wait for the game to come out so everyone can see how the actual online play works before making any final decisions. IMHO.

I'm Australian so it depends largely on lag and ping but if it works good than sign me up (until november 3rd where this game go foad for all I care)

This may sound a tad complicated and may not even be possible if they don't have total race time displayed in the results.

1) Have 2 rooms(or more if more people join) where a short sprint race is held(rooms set randomly, or by points). Than take the fastest lap(if it's displayed), or total time(again, it it's displayed) and place the driver in the appropriate spot and room for the main race. Sort of like a mix between a heat race and normal qualifying. This will obviously take some time so it would have to be a couple hours, or even the day before the race.

2) After the people are put in order based on the times from the above session they go into the main race in the appointed room. As with the above the final results are based on overall time. This way even if you mess up in the qualifying session you still have a shot at getting a decent overall finish.

This would require 2 rooms obviously and someone would have to be appointed to record the times. This will also make it easier for those that can't make every race as they don't have to worry about taking up someones seat.

Also, I call Lotus.

Or 2 different rooms and we quit after qualifying. Combine the times and have the top 12 in the 1st race and bottom 12 in 2nd race. Maybe less points if you're in 2nd race. Non qualifyers are automaticly in 2nd race. But there is still the regular qualifying before the race. Think of it like Q1 and Q2. If you made it this far thanks for reading and what do you think?

That is basically what I based mine off of, thing I don't like about that, is that if you have a mishap in qualifying you are screwed no matter how good of a race you may have.

It's rather unfair and unrealistic. Perhaps add a second or two to those who do wind up in the second room though.

Well, this is confusing. Only thing I can think of is 2 separate championships for PAL and NTSC users to keep a good connection in the races, but that makes 24 spots. We've already got 19 people.

What they did for F1:CE was that they had a GP2 championship, and the top 5 replaced the bottom 5 at the end of the championship, but that whole thing stalled after only about 3 races because of lack of interest.

Only problem with that is that there are more than 12 people in PAL regions and under 12 in NTSC regions.(Not everyone has their location so I can't get a real accurate count, but we still have more than 12 people who are PAL and have their location visible).

Even than PAL and NTSC aren't region specific so lag could still be an issue.

I am up to join the series, after my botched attempt to join the Series when it was/is in F1:CE.

It is gonna be tricky to sort out for sure. I shall brainstorm tomorrow as I have a few good ideas for you.

This sounds great! I'd love to join! And we may have to have a few leagues going because the idea is just a little too good :sly:

I have the game on pre-order so count me in...

I've had lag issues racing against other Oz friends, so that will not eliminate much lag, it's all down to ones internet connection.

P.S. Shotgun Virgin Racing :dunce:

I would be interested in an on-line league as I really enjoyed playing F1CE on-line when it was released. PSN is kirk1701a (PAL region GMT time zone).

Yeah I'm sorry. I thought he was telling tomps3 that I was banned and I just saw how he was banned in another thread. Also I didn't see the title of tomps3 because I'm on my iPod and it doesn't say the title. Sorry for the confusion.

Yeah, sure I'm interested.. but a few things to think about....

1) Time zones... I live in australia, the Spa GP was at 10pm for us. I for one wont be playing games after say 11 on a weeknight or maybe 11:30 on a weekend... so depending on zones, if we have enough people maybe a Northern hemi group for those who likeone time zone and a seperate time (say 12 hours later) for those who prefer to get early or go to be later or are on the other side of the world.

2) Playing conditions. Less about assists, but more about steering wheels. I don't have one, wont buy one as they costs heps of money, i'm poor blah blah and I'm not going to be a wheel for hundreds of bucks to improve a few tenths, so an idea (and I know some will shoot me down is), must use DS3 controller. Makes it a bit fairer. Also depending on the number of people, maybe equalled cars, as I don't think anyone wants to be stuck in a Lotus wihle others are in a red bull. Or even be stuck in a mclaren against a red bull on some tracks

3) Lap times. Before we get launched into this, once we have the game, post some lap times. I wont play if everyone is a second a lap faster. I'm not demanding you guys get slower or anything, its just I don't want to waste my tie when I know ill just be playing the part of an HRT no matter what car I drive and thats just a waste of time.

4) A new thread. Something clean to set out rules and such and have all the infomation. Or atleast everyone post

PSN Name:
GMT hours you can race and on what days:

P.S. forgotten my psn name so can you just chuck me down as Un_OC for now and lookit up and add later. Might also have a friend interested (more than me) who isn't on GTPlanet.

Forcing people to use a gamepad because you dont wanna buy a wheel is just ridiculous. Playstation racing games are always really well designed for gamepads anyway, i played GT4 with a gamepad and the game works great with it.

Driving aids wise, i guess it would be fair to let people use them due to the different wheels being used, and gamepads. I cant imagine F12010 (Codemasters?) being all that difficult to drive, but i could be wrong, grid without traction control was absolutely mental, despite the rest of the physics being fairly tame.

I've still not decided whether to get this for PS3 or PC yet, im assuming that (sadly) PC and PS3 players will not be able to play together, but i guess il have to wait until its out before i make my choice.

Back on the main point, nobody who owns a wheel will agree to the terms of not using a wheel.

As far as driving assists goes , l believe it should be up to the individual to decide.
lf all are allowed to use assists , then it is fair , and no one can be accused of cheating etc.
lf on the other hand driving assists are banned , you run the risk of becoming "exclusive" vs. "inclusive".
Many drivers have different skill levels , an inclusive league allows everyone to participate , not just the "elite".
Just something to chew on. :)
