GTP Football League @ xperteleven - Season 2

Only a draw for me, but against a team only one below me on the ladder so it's not at all embarrassing. I get to play all three leading teams over the last few rounds, which means I could potentially ruin someone's season or they could (and probably will) ruin mine

I've just ran into some extra cash and I've decided to bid for a Goalkeeper with a Skill Rating of 8

How useful he'll be in the long run could depnd on how old he is though. remember the older they are, the worse they are in form, generally speaking. And also there's a higher chance that they'll retire. I can't think of much worse than buying a decent 30+ year old for a couple of million near the end of season only for him to retire at the end of it. Ofcourse, buying a decent youngster and having him die on you would be worse. Yes players can die in X11.

Guys don't let the players go near Live4speed, because he will try and make it happen in the league. *Just joking* But mainly Goal Keepers should be in there prime after 30 since that is what happens in real life.

Goal keepers typically go on for an extra season or two in X11, but the principal still applys, that the older they are. The more chance they'll retire on you there is, and it doesn't matter how skilled the player is, or how high his form is. It's a random counter thing. That's why I wouldn't bid for over 30 players near the end of the season, they could just play a few games then say bye. Hell, players in their 20's can ertire, the chances of it are just an awful lot lower than players in their 30's, and every year older the player is, the higher the chance he'll retire until it get's to about 36 where it's a 50/50 from there onwards.

I now regretting signing Dennis Rasiak, since when I first put a bid in for him, he had a 7 star rating, but now his rating has dropped to just 5.

I always evaluate before buying, you'll get some real duds if you don't. There's two reliable managers where the skill level estimated is always the skill level you will get, but you have to work them out through elimination. I don't know who they are yet.

I managed to get 6 players in the X11 side, that has to be some kind of record.

Next match is going to be a tough one though.

Nope, in round 15 I had 6 players in the X11 squad . I don't think anyones had 7, so I think you've equalled the record. Either way, 6 players in the X11 squad is a damn fine accomplishment.

It is still hard to believe my next game is against Casio City.

You'll be playing me again soon as well, and I'll be playing somebody, it's going to be a tense end to the season.

We only won 5-0 today, I actually did think we should have scored more after looking that match replay. I've just sold a youth team player I brought up a week ago, and bought a new 7 skilled stricker to add depth to my strike force when I get injuries or players banned for a game or two.

It is a real shame I could not shock the odds and beat Casio City.

As long as you can at least draw with SMFC in a couple of weeks it doesn't matter

Well, I suppose you English will have to beat an Aussie at something eventually....

My last two games (against you, and a game against somebody) are make or break games. Anything less than 3 points from the last 4 games could prevent me from getting that title I so dearly want. Either that or my goal difference will have to shoot up, I'm 8 behind so far. Casio has a tough game away to somebody next round which is certainly not going to be easy, guess who I'll be cheering for.

I've just been told all my players are staying put for next season, which is nice. A word of warning, if you put any player sup for sale between now and the seasons end, they will reconsider and may choose to retire. So if you can't sll them in time, they're gone, and players arn't easy to sell in the last two weeks.

Strange, I was about to do a new sponsor activity, however I had an error, so I lost one.

Harsh, your best bet is to contac Iwe, or make a thread in the forums at X11 and see if they can give you another one or sort anything out for you.

Well, I haven't been able to get on to xperteleven for some time now - I hope it's only maintenance and not a problem at my end. I was so looking forward to ruining one of the top 3 teams' seasons

No I haven't been able to get on either. It's pretty **** because I didn't get a chance to do my setup/tactics for this match. If this ruins my seasons I'll be pretty upset.

So I'm back at the top. There was maintenence on the site, but the only maintenence I experienced was done after the matches were played, which was 2pm this afternoon GMT.

I haven't been able to get on in 24 hours, I still can't get on. I've cleared my cache and gone on different computers and everything. Matches are played at 1am local time here, I tried refreshing last night every 30 minutes from about 7:30pm till Midnight and I got timed out every time.

This is ****ing ****. Whole season down the drain because they can't get their site working. 👎

Really, I've just lgged on a couple of mins ago and it worked perfectly fine.

I can now connect with the xpert server but I keep getting "Error 404 Not Found from 220.101.189.11"

Luckily I had my team setup for the big Casio City match (which apparently I won!?) but I'd still like to log on and see how I went in my other games.

No problems for me, at all. I'll contact the site staff and let them know.

EDIT:Apparently some other members have had this problem too, one members gave some advice to try connecting through proxy server on here...

Keep trying different serves until you find one that works. The problem is likely to be a fault with the server X11 is hosted on.

http://www.hidemysites.com works okay as a proxy so I can finally get in. Only problem is I can't see any of the pics, only text. I'm not spending another 10 minutes searching for another proxy - I think this has just about done it for me and xpert11.

I was hoping Somebody FC was not going to win against Casio City, since somebody's latest win ruled out my chances to move up to 4th.
