My avatar pretty much describes my propensity to "back 'er into the fence" shown with my first car in 1950
I'll be 66 here shortly. Retired 8 years and hobbies are videography, virtual racing, boating and traveling. I maintain two YouTube channels .... one for Racing and the other for Travel.

My YouTube channels are:
ANFD's Virtual Racing Library - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5ttl8atXBIJf0wCzl0y7mQ
Travels with Yoly - https://www.youtube.com/user/TravelswithYoly

I'll definitely keep an eye on the thread for organized events and Open Geezer rooms. As may be typical for our demographic, I really like the longer endurance races and favor FAST tire wear and Full Damage set to ON. This allows "patience" to become more of a factor in the race outcome.

Great shots of today thanks for putting them up papa. 👍 As usual I forgot to save most of the replays. :banghead:
I did save two races I can add a couple more shots.

I finally tried to get in the Geezer room this morning and had not raced online in quite a while. All I get is the dreaded "Entry was refused due to network incompatibility with the room host." when I've tried today.

I'm way out west near Santa Barbara, Calif. and still stuck at NAT3 and wondered if that is part of my problem. I've usually been able to race online without problems since GT5P. One way or another, I'll see you guys soon.

Well @PapaGnr your advise to @Wayne Gratiot is sound. I have done all of those things and still a shaky connection at best. I even have tried ancient voodoo rituals and just for fun the bunny hop and the hooky pokey, for the record neither worked. Sorry I had to leave the race I was looking forward to 15 laps but my dog was barking and I hate barking dogs as much as I dislike a bad GT6 connection.

There are lots of issues with the online servers, that being 1 of them. Try clearing your system cache & hard wire to your internet, if possible. Hope to see you in our room soon. 👍

Thanks PapaGnr and RocknSoul. I do clear cache before going online racing and have always been hard-wired. What happened today was I couldn't join you guys, but later I was racing in the Classic Mini series for over 2 hours with up to 15 guys from Europe and North America in races and never had a problem. Pretty fickle online stuff.

I'll try again Thursday and see what happens.

Wayne .... when it comes to connection issues, there's nothing more frustrating than being stuck with a NAT3 type connection. This causes compatibility issues with other drivers in a room and can be offset a bit if the room is set up with a "fixed host". I played with a NAT3 for years and found that there were times when I would get the same "incompatibility" error message and that repeated attempts to get into the room can get you into the room if the incompatible driver(s) just happens to leave the room.

Thanks ANFD. That describes me exactly. nuTTTz from the TPRA guided me over the phone for about 2 hours a few years ago trying all the ways to upgrade to a NAT2, but nothing worked. It worked fine most of the time so I just lived with it. We have the same EarthLink equipment from the day we signed up many, many years ago and I was recently told that it may be the old EarthLink box blocking everything. I'll check with them about the problem and ask for new stuff.

QUOTE="PapaGnr, post: 10042683, member: 173281"]Thanks for the tip regarding "fixed host status". 👍 I had it set to non-fixed yesterday. 👎[/QUOTE]

That makes sense too. I'm usually in fixed host rooms and rarely have problems then.

Good info from all above in this thread. Thanks.
