If you want to check out the new racing game coming out in November for PS4, PC

http://www.projectcarsgame.com/beyond-reality.html
So if I understand all this right, it's a new Racing Simulation which is quite impressive.
BUT:
afaics not too many tracks available (yet?)
AND
I need at least:
1.) a new PS4
2.) a new wheel (as I suppose mine will not be supported, but would like to have a new one anyway) and
3.) the game itself (Limited Edition, of course).
So I added up all this:

Project CARS Limited Edition
http://www.amazon.de/Namco-Bandai-Games-Project-CARS/dp/B00LVZECRU/ref=sr_1_44?ie=UTF8&qid=1407786684&sr=8-44&keywords=project cars
79,99€
Lenkrad TM T300 RS Racing Wheel
thrustmaster t300rs ps4
http://www.amazon.de/Lenkrad-TM-T300-Racing-Wheel/dp/B00KSXV274/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410191242&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=thrustmaster t300rs ps4
378,85,- €
PS4
http://www.amazon.de/Sony-0711719268475-PlayStation-4-Konsole/dp/B00BIYAO3K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410191927&sr=8-1&keywords=ps4 konsole
409,-€
-------------------
870,-€ Total
which is a mere 1.126,- US$ (as of todays Exchange rate).

Well, and while I wrote this and reflected about it...
WTF... I have pre-ordered the game and ordered me a PS4 and the wheel.
If I don't like it, I can still sell it on ebay or elsewhere...
but I am curious about the new wheel and if it works on the PS3 too!

Thanks to oldboy1943, you have cost me a lot of Money!
You owe me at least

EDIT:
oh, I forgot: a 4K TV-Set would be beneficial too, but I guess my 55" Full HD TV will be sufficient!?

He, who has a wife and a kid is very lucky!
But in my household I am the only insane one! :banghead:
Somebody once said:
"I am not a complete idiot, some parts are still missing."
But I don't know if he meant me... but I guess so! :D

Thanks OldBoy,, we for sure appreciate your efforts learning about and sharing with us but actually I'm thinking I'll be so busy with GT7 (assuming it will be even more fantastic than GT6!!) will have absolutely NO TIME to fiddle with another virtual racing game,, so I'm not too worried about the costs or equipment required. But,, it's good to know about Project Cars just in case GT7 falls below our mile high expectations!!

Looks very good Wauk. 👍 I'm sure all your hard work getting this sorted will be a hit. Speaking of hits, all participants MUST use proper driving etiquette, meaning no ramming or forcing others off track. We are Geezers & accidents happen but please not deliberately. Excess violations May result in getting the BOOT, & we don't want that. Have fun guys ! :gtpflag: Damn, I just realized, I've got a Doc appointment that day. :banghead: BUMMER :(

Thanks Papa for mentioning this buddy!!👍👍 Yeppers,, we very much enjoy our GEEZER racing and so far have had little to no issues we haven't overcome,, but I like you others don't want to see our bud Waukazoo have to drop out of a race to police the event 🤬 by giving someone not following our GEEZER ethics das BOOT! :irked:
Not fair to the racer on the receiving end of poor driving etiquitte 👎,,, and especially not fair to Wauk 👍👍. There,, that said I'm off to start PRACTICING!!

Perhaps if you did qualaflying at the beginning you may well avoid those small bumps ??

Thanks MILLIONS Waukazoo :bowdown:for going through the HUGE efforts you have first dreaming up this cool event, then dumping the credits :scared: to buy ALL the T/C cars, investing the time required to test all these cars and then selecting just the right cars. Then going through the efforts required to select just the right tracks:tup:👍. I'll join all the others in giving you a resounding round (or three) of very muchly deserved APPLAUSE:bowdown:!! We're gonna have a GR8 time - and we'll just have to "X" our fingers PSN will help us pull this event off by helping us keep a server up and running:gtpflag:!!

Hmmm, that's an excellent suggestion Tom but the only problem doing the qualifier is time,, however - the qualifiers do provide more credits.. But,, on the other hand it's doubtful the credits are our motivator for participating in these races. I'm hoping the WEAK penalties will help keep the bumps and scrapes to a bare bones minimum and the qualifiers won't be necessary.

👍 👍👍

One thing we all should remember that it's not always the blame the one who stays on track, of course first feeling on the sand is that for sure and one thing, which in my mind as important that You should always know what is happening behind
if someone faster than You he will get You and for sure You will make mistake and faster guy passes You. If I or You try to prevent from passing collission will hapen. Other thing is driving in the middle of the track, then there is before turn same
space inside and outside, which side to use most cases later brakeing and inside. But if You know that there somebody behind waiting to pass You. We are not alone in the track! Time what I have been in Geezers , I have been many times in green and sand lost whole race for that and it hasn't been my mistake always. But I never have had feeling that it's been
done deliberately, should I?

I'm in!!

Well folks I will not be able to race in the touring car series's, and quite a shame because if I don't do well in the race I always enjoy the scenery. I will be at lat 49.613379 long -69.418488, I give you the numbers because there is no address that far out in the woods, plus It adds a sense of mystery and allows you all to refresh your navigation skills. I wish you all well in the race and I will see you all on the grid when I return mid October, til then enjoy the races and remember drive it like you stole it.

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/gtplanet-online-racing-olr-rules-guidelines.111241/

I hope I got the above link pasted correctly, if not could someone do it right. The above "rules" apply to all online racing and are, I believe, very fair to all. It would be appreciated if all Geezers would take the time to read these OnLine racing rules/guidelines and follow them in our races. I will be the first to confess that I have violated several of these rules/guidelines through ignorance and/or over enthusiasm and i hereby apologize to the offended Geezers, especially but not limited to Stewyripper (whom I punted at least twice in the same race). We are all here to have fun and associate with our peers, and I will admit that winning does increase the amount of fun to be had, I can say from experience that competing and running last is a lot more fun than I have had in quite a while.
 👍

We've all had little accidents like that Mots. :dunce: I was referring to someone's actions in Sunday's races where 1 guy was not using his brakes & punting others off track & also forcing others off when they were on his outside. Wauk, Duce & Geezer saw him do this in real time & in the replays. No names will be mentioned but if he continues driving like that, actions will be taken. He's on probation.

I guess that must have been me, and if so, you may well mention my Name!
I was just popping in to have a fun-race (as the room was declared as such), but I did not know how seriously you take this!
But it may also well be that we talk about different races (I just drove 1 or 2 and I guess it was Sunday but don't remember really).
If I misbehaved or have hurt anyone, I apologise for that, I really didn't know how seriousely all this is!
For me, playing this game is primarily meant to have fun, but when I read the rules for the upcoming Event, one could believe that These rules are almost as complicated as the Formula 1 Rule Book!

I will, however, try to not hurt anyone in any way any more, the more so, as online racing is not really exactly my Cup of tea!
However, continue to have fun, geezers!
Cheers, Tom.

have done a quick test to see if this works and if you all want to see videos of races

it's not as easy as I thought. This clip is just basic to check quality etc, for a fuller video it will require a lot of editing as I want to try to show most drivers in the race if even for a short time. Hope you all enjoy and I look forward to feed back.

Have problem to get home till 12 from city + 1 hour more would be enough 13 pm ?

While on the subject of videos, as you know I occassionaly create them (see link in previous post). I had entertained the idea of making one from one of the races I saved last weekend but after watching the replay, I don't think the race visuals would support it enough to make it very interesting. (Lap 1 & 2 had lots of exciting action but then it fades away). I've been making YouTube racing videos for years and have learned a few things (the current channel is one I started recently).

The replay I saved had only 6 drivers in an 11 lap race. Under this format, it's very easy for cars to get spread out and follow each other in "lock-step" so to speak and no one wants to see a video where everyone is just driving around at their own pace spread out as it does. Videos are much more interesting (and MUCH more easier to edit) when the lap count is kept to a minimum with the most amount of cars obviously.

Just thought that I'd put that out there and suggest that some day, we organize an event (when we get lots of participants) and run 2 or 3 lap races. This compresses the action and keeps the cars closer together for the last lap and race for the win action. It also makes it possible to feature a bit more of everyone's race in the video while packing a 7 or 8 minute video with a 4 or 5 minute race. Just "food for thought" 💡
