ANFD SAID
Since people find the video so objectionable, I will definitely spare you any further discomfort.
:(
I just noticed this comment & I hope you'll reconsider your decision to not produce more videos for the Geezers. I thoroughly enjoyed your first 1 & was looking forward to the Daytona coverage. It takes a lot of time, effort, patience & the right equipment to share videos & you seem to have them all. 👍 Think it over & maybe you'll change your mind. Besides, most of us Geezers love watching videos. :gtpflag:
Note to ANFD you don't have to watch the videos. I love to see what happened. :):cheers::lol::) get your geezer faces here.

Hey guys. I need to set something right. Saturday night my grandson and I were racing the sierra time trial. The little bugger (actually he's 16) scored a 1,640,073 to my 1,412,000 (that's the first time he beat me). So the 10th place score is not mine. mots63 and karter95 each need to be moved up one notch. Just wanted to let everybody know. I guess you know I will be trying my darnedest to beat his score. Hopefully sometime real soon I will get time to get on with all of you. I am soooo looking forward to that.

Hi there Fun@60, we look forward to meeting you as well bud. Even if you only have a few minutes to pop in and say "HI GEEZERS" :gtpflag:that would be cool. We aren't racing all the time as we use the GEEZERS CLUB lobby as a sort of hang out spot (like som of our GrandPaw's did at the general store, circled around the ol wood burning parlor stove ;)) chew tha fat about many subjects and reminisce about yester-year. Seems no matter the continent, we're in agreement OURS was/is the BEST generation  and we were the luckiest people on the planet to have been born in the 40's and early 50's. Most of us always feel better when we stroll outside, pick up the paper from where ever it may have landed, open to the obituary's to look for our names - if we're not mentioned - it's always a GR8 day!! :) 👍👍

Sounds great and I totally agree. I will stop in soon, even if it's for a minute or two. Thanks

Thank you guys so much for the great racing tonite. I especially liked the last Daytona and the Willow races. Thank you wauk and the rest of you for all the help. This is what I have been waiting for since 2011. Great racing and great friends with no bs or arguing. I guess I should have been looking for a "mature" group. GO GEEZERS:gtpflag:

Haha nearly wet meself laughing.

In my replay, @Daduce1947's car was thrashing about for the entire race duration. It'd leap from side to side, spin, crash into walls, speed up to over 230 mph, drive in reverse and so on. Most of the time, the tires were smoking and the HUD showed most or all of them bright red.

I tried the view from cars following Daduce, and it was like driving through a constant smoke screen.

After the first lap, I had to open the windows to get the stink of burning rubber out of the house!!

Strangely, everyone else's cars behaved quite normally.

I'm assuming it's an artifact of dodgy internet net connection.

Some candid shots of the flora & fauna at Trial Mountain, including Monkey, Nessie & 2 guys in a boat. I'm not sure what that guy standing is doing.

Ha and LOL,, we think he got "busted"!! Didn't want to fire up the 'ol outboard and motor over to shore to take care of biness! LOL

Thanks very much Papa for posting the photos!! Yes, as always (when PSN doesn't fail us!) we did have a grand time!

Hi Geezers!

After you've done your daily check of the obits column for your name, and verified your status, you might like to try this little Seasonal-based Geezer Challenge.

It's to score Gold in each of the three Seasonal races which are open at present with the same car being used in all three. (Beginner at Motegi, Intermediate at Autumn and Expert at Spa - "Rainmasters")

Here is how this idea was born. Just for giggles, I tried the Chev El Camino at Spa, and despite a very persistent Ferrari F40, squeaked in over the line in the lead.

Then I noticed that the El Camino is eligible for all three races, so of course, I was off and running.

It was a lot of fun, and my El Camino came through for me!

To be true to Geezerdom, I'd suggest you limit your car choice to pre-1970.

Edit: To improve my chances, I resorted to the Gold Chrome paint job which makes an enormous difference in top speed, and sheds rainwater faster.

To be somewhat sportsman-like, I refrained from resorting to Chrome Wire Spoke wheels, but that's always an option.

I've used the Focus & Solstice to do all 3. That Cobra is my favorite real life car but too twitchy in GT6, unless I can find a good tune. The 66 GT40 would be a good candidate & probably overkill. I'm wondering if your El Camino would be faster without that camper top ? ;) A good challenge Possum. 👍👍 PS. the baby moons are way cooler & faster than wires.

I have no idea if I did anything much to refine the Shelby Cobra tunes. I suspect not. I have become happier with all cars by turning Traction Control off, except in a rain event, when I generally set it to 1. (If I remember!). And ABS=1.

The GT40 may not qualify as a "normal" car, but it would be fun if it is allowed.

I've had the El Camino for a long time, and it may be that the camper top helps with the aerodynamics. I'm thinking it adds no more mass, and it arrives in the aero section of the upgrades. With all of these high powered cars, I strip whatever weight off that I can as a first step. Add all the "PP freebies" like race brakes and drive shafts made of unobtainium. Then bring the PP to the required level by mucking around with the Power options. Oh, and Chrome paint of course. Thanks for tip about baby moons!

As for suspension settings, I'm clueless, but am not too proud to search the tunes if I'm desperate.

Just done the seasonal events in a corvette convertible c1 1954, what a blast that was it was everywhere in the wet except where i wanted it to be.
Fantastic fun, had to change transmission as the original is only two speed reduced weight, windows etc.
Added all power parts and then let rip and hang on. when you stop laughing at the amount of fun you are getting, get serious and it will win all three events.
Good luck to all who try it. Stewy. :):):):):):):):):):):) 11out of 10 for fun factor

I just re-did the Autumn Ring event in my tuned down GT-40 Mach 1 '66, it is indeed overkill but hey I'm a Geezer. The rain event was a challenge but easily doable with a few sightseeing excursions thrown in (the view is spectacular whilst spinning). The AI's seem to adjust to our car choice, thus keeping things close. Save a replay & ride along with the runner-up, he becomes a way better driver once you pass for the lead.

I intend to give the the Chevrolet Nova SS '70 a go. The first 2 events were OK, The oval was a bit of a grip challenge. The rain event is an entirely different reality however. Was close to having it when the third place contender rammed and I received the penalty managed 3rd on that try. Will go at it again later mowing machine is a-callin'.

PS to post above

The Shelby Cobra 427 '66 is a fun choice, and visually more appealing. Cockpit gets a little damp on Spa of course.

And another open car out of 1960!

Really liked your idea Possum! :mischievous::cheers: I used the '65 GT350 Mustang - street version:tup:. Got 'em all 3 :D but Spa was indeed a chore!! Spun at least five 360's and can't count the times I was sliding down tha track at a 90 degree angle, but even tho the car in front - a new GTR - blocked, rammed (and I got the F$%*K'n penalty!!:banghead:) still nipped that suck'ah at the end for another $400k. Yep, that was GEEZER fun fer sure!:gtpflag:

I liked the idea so I chose the Shelby 350R-GT '65 . I found that it was on the easy side, so I decided to do the HOW LOW CAN YOU GO game. I tried to cut the PP by 5% increment and see. Here are my results.

Motegi = down to 477PP -won by 0.025s

Autumn Ring = down to 375PP - won by 0.58s

Spa = down to 450pp - won by 0.18s

Maybe this car is a ringer, so I intend to try the Camaro '69 next.

I'm so glad you're having fun with this Geezer challenge and raising it to new art forms!

The Spa race is my new favorite, with its beginning in the rain, and the subsequently drying track. The rabbits are usually far faster than me in top speed, (once the track dries) which makes for some fun between Eau Rouge and Les Combes.

After Eau Rouge, I'm usually on the ragged edge and cut the left-hander at Raidillon hoping to miss the wall on the left. This excursion seems to give me an edge, so that when the following rabbit uses his long legs, he'll catch me but I outbrake him into Les Combes.

For the rest of the lap, rabbits keep close, but not close enough, and my final area of "rabbit threat" comes after Paul Frère, especially from Blanchimont through to the Chicane. I have refined late braking into the Chicane combined with hogging the line. The one time I opened the door, the rabbit rammed me, I got a penalty and he walked away with my money. I was not pleased, but it taught me a lesson about legitimately defending the line.

On my rig, with 720p TVs, approaching the Chicane I see a faint white line across the track. This I use as a braking point in most cars. Some cars with less braking power will not appreciate this lateness.

I enjoy this event's "rubber banding", because it seems to make sense. The rabbit is slow on a wet track, but gains confidence as the track dries especially when he can see that a Geezer in an ancient American land yacht can negotiate the curves. At least that's how it is in my mind.

Final note. Spa was my "bête noir" until this seasonal. It scared the heck out of me, especially the Chicane and Eau Rouge. Being "forced" to do five laps at a time, and in the rain for the first of these has been a gift.
