What about using car's thru '69 to give us a few more options?

Especially the late 60's muscle cars if the Time Trial happens to be for American cars only?

I was also just recently running the '66 Jaguar XJR Race Car and the '67 Ford Mark IV Race Car at La Sarthe, and found them both great fun, so I would hate to exclude them from our possible car lists when we need to run a high-end race car.

As you probably know, I have more than one game profile, so I was going to pick one of my games and use it exclusively for the "special" Geezer Time Trials. My results would then be listed on the official PD leaderboards and it would be easy for @geezer1791 to see my times and what car I used. @Stewyripper wouldn't need to create any extra TT club rooms.

Does anyone else have an extra game profile that could be used for these "special" Geezer TT's?

For the Italian 600 PP: '52 Abarth 1500 Biposto, '65 Fiat 500 F, '63 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale, '74 Lamborghini Countach LP400, '71 Ferrari Dino 246 GT.

The '74 Lambo Countach is an excellent car and very fast when tuned, so I was thinking about it when proposing 1969 as the Geezer TT year limitation since the Countach could be a useful car for some of the TT's so I would hate to not have it available.:( I wonder if I could slap a decal on my Countach and tell the Geezer race stewards that it was an early prototype model made before 1970?:mischievous:

I think we all have other profiles we could use, but using them in the Geezer club would entail a lot of new friend requests having to be sent out. I'm not sure how this would work out?

In keeping with the latest Seasonal TTs, my car list for the 500 PP FR is: '54 Corvette Convertible, '54 Mercedes 300 SL Coupe, '57 BMW 507, '61 Ferrari 250 GT, '61 Jaguar E-Type Coupe.

For the Italian 600 PP: '52 Abarth 1500 Biposto, '65 Fiat 500 F, '63 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale, '74 Lamborghini Countach LP400, '71 Ferrari Dino 246 GT.

Let's see what everyone thinks. :gtpflag:
You don't have to be friends to invite a PSNID to a club. Just need the letter perfect PSNID.

Thanks @Dragonwhisky. That I know. I was referring to all the geezers having to post their alternate IDs & then sending out those friend requests. Besides not all those other garages are as full as the main 1. I know mine aren't, 1 of which I only use completely showroom as-is & no oil changes.

Let's see what the other geezers think
Don't need to post those alt IDs here. Just need to log in to that ID, find the club, send a message to it, club owner can use that message to enter the ID in an invite.

In order to do the kind of results I do now everyones alt PSN would have to be on my alt PSN friends list.
In anticipation of The Geezer Club for GT7 (I may be 80) I set up a PSN of "GZR_Geezer1791" thinking that those that
wanted could use the GZR_ prefix to show their Geezer affiliation.👍 I also created a community club GZR_Geezer Club #
one 0 5 zero 4 seven 8. If anyone who wants to participate in the "special" Geezer TT events will send a FR from their alt PSN to my GZR_Geezer1791 PSN I will try to do the results.

PS: @Dragonwhisky - Thanks for keeping an eye on us Geezers and trying to keep us out of trouble. We are all still learning.

Edit: Changed club number,

Yeah, this is the down-side to using an alternate game profile, it probably won't have as many cars. We might all have to go on a buying spree. I wonder what the salespeople at the Dealerships will think when they get an enormous influx of geezers asking for test drives of their older classic cars. They will probably think that a new historic car race series has just begun!:)

I intend to use my GTsail800 game profile for the special Geezer time trials. It may not have that many cars, and its not nearly as old as geezer's 1791 game, but it does have a few years under its belt, so hopefully it will fit right in.:D Anyone is free to send a friend request if they want another blue line on their TT tracks!:D

See you on the tracks!

Initial results for the Apricot Hill 500PP time trial:

Using the Shelby Cobra 427 '66, I've run a 1:35.064 lap:) which is just off the Gold time of 1:35.000

I need to tinker with my Cobra's tune to find some more speed, but I'm sure that the Gold trophy will shortly be mine!

Give the Cobra a try!

Yes Papa that was correct. And also it should be acc. To number of TT's in that month. Time for that days/week we all can decide. And rules for car are TT rules for that race. If we like this idea we should be ready for next one october. In my list
Activity in my list is approx. 14...20 and I would say around 10 for all races. I don' have our fastest "boys" on friends list.
At the moment there unactive people in my list and for sure I will change them for active. :bowdown:But from my friends list there will be always my dear friends Wauk and Zona even if they don't drive often. For the car we drive , everybody attending should have 1 pick. We should be ready in october race!

Since our illustrious friend @Stewyripper:bowdown: is our race creator, I nominate him to consider setting this up. 💡

What say you Stewy ? :gtpflag:

If you go to the club room the events are setup ready to go. I have put penalties on low and made it a 10 minute tt, obviously you can try as many times as you like, you will be racing alone so if a group are in at the same time it will be blue lines only. I have limited the events to finish on 24/9/15 at 9am UK. CLUB ID IS 1027452
Any questions or problems just let me know.

Don't forget it's race day, room opening at 13.30 UK, 08.30 EST. racing starts about 14.00 UK, 0900 EST.
:cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers:

Thanks Stewy!👍

I've taken my '66 Cobra to Stewy's Geezer Club TT at Apricot Hill and have run a nice 1:34.664 lap:)

This lap has just edged out my "official" lap out on the PD Leaderboard of 1:34.708:eek:

Great fun either way!:)

Great lap @GTsail290.

I tried it with a '61 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta & just squeaked out a silver at 1:37.384.
I ran the Stewy event with the 66 Cobra, and after I did, I was wondering why we are doing this since we already have the event in the actual TT event. It's pretty much a given the 66 Cobra is the fastest car, so why use anything else. Should there be a certain car we should all be using, something other than the Cobra? P Mallard

Good day again yesterday geezers.
Did some testing today and the car on Saturday will be the Mazda RX7 Touring car.
It will be in stock form as usual.
@PapaGnr will have a practice room open for you.

The following Saturday 26th will be the last touring car series race, there will be more to come in the near future,
LMPs GT 500 GT300 etc.
I will post the points and ballast totals when i know how to do it.
Geezerdom rules.

To add to what @PapaGnr said just above, I think @mots idea is to have us drive an assortment of different cars other than the "ideal/fastest" car for the Seasonal Time Trials. Right now, for the current Apricot Hill Seasonal TT, the fastest car seems to be the Shelby Series 1 Supercharged '03, so this is the car to run in the "official" PD Time Trial, but for us Geezer types;), @mots idea is to give us a second and/or third Leaderboard with further restrictions on car use, and since the Time Trials now last 4 weeks, we have some extra time to run these Geezer cars:)

Mots Geezer Seasonal TT's

Trying to establish some agreement on Mot's proposal, Mots - Please validate or correct me. @mots63

"To all Geezer friends. Now we have TT for 4 weeks so it's plenty of time to do one good lap and leave
2 weeks for open TT as usual."

1. We will use the GT Seasonal TT's and make the 1st 2 weeks the "Mots Geezer Seasonal TT"
2. The "Mots Geezer Seasonal TT" will finish at the end of the 1st 2 weeks of the GT Seasonal TT.

"So I got idea to make more driving fun. To start TT 's all with similar car voted by all for voted period"

3. Since we are using the GT Seasonal TT, the Geezer car must be eligible for that TT.
4. Need more info from Mots on picking car.
My idea. Eligible Geezer Cars are 1969 or older and #3 above. Use any eligible car for 1st week, this will identify
the best car for all to use the 2nd week. Maybe - Fastest Lap Geezer shares tune used for that lap?

"and make max. three one make TT"

5. Part of #4 above. Need more info from Mots.

"May be give points to regarding position and less points earned driver winner for TT. If not
attending max. points + 2 points last driver position."

6. Fast Lap Geezer at end of 1st 2 weeks gets 1 point, 2nd fastest, 2 pts, etc.
7. Results Posted for Current Mots Geezer Seasonal TT and points accumulate for overall standings.
8. If a Geezer doesn't participate in any current event he/she is awarded points of last place + 1 point,
same points he/she would have received if finishing last in current event.

All of this is my understanding of Mots proposal posted in Report #2424. Please comment/correct or tell me to 🤬 off.

Edit: Type indicates Mots agreed this was correct.

1) correct
2) my idea was to have discusion and ideas. My idea is to have similar car for all (With TT regulations)
Most important is that everybody attending should have one pick to choose favorite car ( that will be fair to everybody )
that could be one race, second acc.to geezer1791 1969 or older ( vote for one make/free choice ).
If we start with this concept we have a start. Of course if we will have 5 TT it is full job and maybe one of our own will be
Enough ?
3) correct
4) see no. 2
5) # 2
6) correct
7&8) correct

Points idea it is not important, but it came to my mind from Your good resalt lists.
How many of us will be interested ?

In an effort to get ready for the Mots Geezer Seasonal TT's,:nervous::nervous: this past weekend I decided to replay my GTsail800 game from the first Novice Race using only cars from 1969 and earlier.

Everything goes quite smoothly until I get to the FF Challenge (a National B Series) and find that I don't have any pre 1970 FWD cars.:ill:

I check the Dealerships and see two choices so I purchase the Honda N360 '67 and drop a bundle on engine upgrades:ouch:

After my spending spree my Honda N360 is running at 87 horsepower and shows a PPvalue of 410. The FF Challenge has three tracks: Tsukuba, Deep Forest and Motegi East. I skip Tsukuba and take my Honda N360 to Deep Forest and lower the horsepower to 82 which gives me a PP value of 400 even and launch the race. I quickly find that the Honda N360 doesn't have enough power for the straights, but thankfully it can out corner the AI so I'm able to win the race with a small margin. I then take my Honda N360 to Motegi East and find that I get badly left behind by the AI on the straights.:yuck:, so in an effort to over-come this straight-line deficit, I make liberal use of the grassy areas and drive straight thru any sandtraps in the corners:mischievous::guilty: and once again I'm able to win a close race!:) Nervous about my lack of speed for the Tsukuba race, I adjust my Honda N360 back up to 87 horsepower (410PP) and enter the Tsukuba race. Another close race is run, and I win again!:):D

The Honda N360 is a beast with 87 horsepower!!

Anyway, the point of my story is that we are going to have a problem with some of the time trials if they require FWD cars, because the game doesn't have enough pre 1970 FF cars.:( Looking further ahead, I also see problems with 4WD time trials because the game doesn't have any 4WD cars until the 1982 Audi Quattro, and then some decent 1984/1985 Rally Cars. So I guess for any FWD and 4WD time trials we will just have to make an exception to the 1969 age rule and drive a newer car!:lol:

Need rules for picking car:
How long is period open to state car choice?
Car with most votes wins?
What if all cars get 1(same) vote each? (I suggest Mots picks)
Are cars used "stock"?

Problem with more than one race. Each race would have to have it's own time period. Each Geezer will have only one lap time shown in standings list at any one time. We could use alt PSN's for another race.

As pointed out by @GTsail290 we either have to extend the older than "year" or have an exception older than year when necessary.
