Since @mots proposed this, I think he should pick the cars.

The first week should be a slower car & then a quicker 1 for week 2 so that times can be recorded.

All cars should be stock with oil change allowed. This eliminates the problem of tuning. Some people are just way better at setting up their cars. The HONOR SYSTEM must be used.

Sometimes the pre 1970 cars come with "stock" settings that we may find un-suitable for some of the time trials (too short gearing and the like), so how about a slight modification to the above?

During the 1st week of the Time Trials, @mots picks the first Geezer TT car (we can later change who picks the first Geezer TT car to someone else or a vote, if mots doesn't always have time to pick the cars).

During the 2nd week of the Time Trial, we run this Geezer TT car "stock" in the Mots Geezer TT

During the 3rd week of the Time Trial, we run any pre 1970 car we want in the Mots Geezer TT with any tune we want

During the first three weeks of the Time Trial, we run whatever car we wish in the "official" PD Time Trial (usually this will be the Suzuki GSX;))

During the 4th week of the Time Trial we take a nap:D

Does this cover most of everyone's suggestions?

Many thanks to @elgcee42 for his help.

TEST STANDINGS - GEEZER ALT PSN TT

500PP @ Apricot Hill
pixelface1 - Ser1SupChgd '03 - 1.31.517
GZR_Papa_Gnr - Corvette Z06(C5) '04 - 1.34.481
GTsail800 - Cobra 427 '66 - 1.34.708
GZR_Fireball - S2000 '06 - 1.35.558
GZR_Geezer1791 - Corvette Coupe(C2) 15thAnn '63 (Stock) 1.45.695

The above reflects the current results for those Geezers who have made "friends" with my alt PSN GZR_Geezer1791 and
appear on my alt friends leaderboard. This is a way to use the GT Seasonal TT for Mot's Geezer Seasonal TT without changing anything about our regular GT Seasonal TT results. I view this as a possible addition to what @mots has proposed not a replacement. 💡

I agree. @mots -do you agree.

Good idea, it's up to mots

Also good idea, seconded by @jotafduarte and I.
I'm assuming that @geezer1791 will be keeping score ? Whoever does, must post week 1's results before we use a different car for week 2. After those results are posted, it's "run what you brung".
I agree, any faster lap will wipe out a slower lap and change leaderboard stsndings.
We must decide on where to do this. On PD's official leaderboard or in club rooms ? On our normal ID or using an alternate on @geezer1791's GZR account ?
mots agreed we would do this on PD's Official Leaderboard using our normal PSN. Using an alt PSN would be an addition to mots original idea but very possible. Doing this in a clubroom is more than I want to keep track of.
As to what @GTsail290 said about keeping a cap of 1969 cars & older, certain criteria won't allow that, so the oldest cars available should be the cars to use.
If mots picks its his criteria, he can ask for advice or make a rule.
Any input regarding these thoughts would be greatly appreciated. ;)
Here's mine. I hope it's greatly appreciated.

To all Geezer friends !

This is greatly appreciated. My idea came, because I have found out ( because I have driven quite much lately ) that in certain point I come to point, which is my maximum effort and that's that (only with some new car or better tune). When I will drive one week and times will go worse and it's not fun any more. To prevent this I got this idea and I'm happy to give
All rights to do what's more suitable to all of us.
One thing is the lanquage ( in my friends list I'm only foreigner ) and second it that I'm newbe in on-line racing also. All things will go better with pros like Geezer1791, Stewy and Papa.

WOW!!!   What a great tool. Do we have to pay a royalty to @msgt-sd ? Thanks again for thinking of your elders, Geezers are very grateful.
Since you are retired now, please feel free to join us on Sat mornings.

Thanks for the invite. If I recall correctly, ya'll are at it pretty early on Saturdays. At least for stateside folks. Saturday mornings are for sleeping however. If I'm up earlier than 9 it's only to watch one of those unholy scheduled F1 qualifying sessions. Usually, when those are on that early, I record them and watch them later. Either way, if I'm up that early, I'm otherwise occupied, otherwise, I ain't up that early.

I remember when my body would allow me to do that, now the only issue is clearing the cobwebs:). Sunday 7:30 eastern for F1 and coffee.

Mot's Geezer Seasonal TT's (Latest Edition)

History - mots/Markku posted #2424 an idea to establish new seasonal TT's for the Geezers.
Many Geezers expressed interest/enthusiasm for mots idea and discussion followed
Because I loved mots idea and wanted to see it implemented
I butted in #2455 in order to clarify mots original intentions and followup ideas
mots #2456 confirmed some of my "rules" and tried to clarify other points
PapaGnr #2460 tried to farther tie down some of the items still in question
I responded #2469 to PapaGnr's post, mostly saying "it's up to mots to make the decisions"
@mots responded #2472 that he was satisfied with what had been established but did not want to pick cars, etc

That's where we are, in my opinion, and I still very much want to see this implemented

Since the items still not tied down are: How do we pick cars & How many and How long are the Geezer TT's
I propose that @PapaGnr pick the cars or establish the criteria for identifying cars and the Geezer TT time schedule.
We can always make adjustments as necessary.

Also, please indicate your interest (not a commitment) to participate in Mot's TT's by "like" this post.
I assume that those that have "friended" GZR_Geezer1791 are also interested in having the alternate Mot's TT

Thank you Markku :bowdown:for getting this started, it's a great idea and will provide much enjoyment for the Geezers.

Geezers Rock

Thank you PapaGnr

I know you don't need the practice, but it would be fun/interesting to know what cars you would have picked for the current TT's.

We could still try them even if it wouldn't be easy to determine the results. :)

Ok @geezer1791, I guess it's up to me then. :nervous:

Since it's too late to kick off the @mots Geezer TT Challenge, we'll have to wait a few weeks.

I'll try to have the appropriate Geezer Cars chosen as quickly as possible, so that the interested geezers can do the TTs & Drift Trials.

For those using their main PSN ID, please use the designated cars, so that we can record your time.

I'll pick faster cars for week 2 as soon as we have all the results from week 1. That way the original times will be overwritten.

For those Geezers not participating in @mots's event, run the events as per usual with your preferred cars. We can still see the results of the chosen Geezer cars.

It would be ideal to do this event using our GZR accounts, but not everyone has 1, so let us know who's going to participate. For those with GZR accounts, do the event with that account only if you have friended @geezer1791's GZR account.

If any of the chosen cars won't cut it as far as gearing goes you'll be allowed to change the gearbox & only set the final gear to be able to reach max speed without hitting the rev-limiter, otherwise ALL Geezer cars will remain stock, except for oil change, wheels, paint & the tire recommended in the TTs.

I hope this straightens out the regulations & go have fun with @mots's brainchild. :gtpflag:

Could somebody tell , how should I do GZR account ( instructions please )
