I have a funny suspicion that come release day, after all of the opinions that have been floating around and reviews that it has received already from people that have the game early there will be a update for GT5. Whether it is on release day or a few days after I reckon it will come to iron a few things. I remember it happening with another game sometime back...though I can't remember which one.

Gran Turismo 5: Prologue being one of the first to come to my mind :D

But yes, I went through in-game Help Manual and it clearly says that game will offer an update in order to make Network section available.

We know officially that new official website will be unveiled at 24th, so I except first update around 23/24th.

Why would you want restrictor plates in the first place? The only reason they make Nascar use them is so they wont reach speeds like this. The tracks are big enough, but the HP is so great that 250 isn't out of the question! 900HP in a 3400lb. car with the aero that 'Stock cars' have it's easily reachable, especially today's cars. I'm glad they aren't put on the restrictor plate diet! 240mph Nascars! YES PLEASE! You think Nascar in real life couldn't reach those speeds? They hit 210mph at 1 1/2 mile tracks! The acceleration in these things is wicked. The old speed record was with an 80's Stock car that probably didn't have the aero efficiency that today's 'Stock cars' do.

For an obsessive compulsive guys who can't stand flaws at all, you do make a lot of spelling and grammatical errors. Does BC stand for British Columbia. If it does, it revokes the use of "English is not my language" excuse :)

Part of growing up (regardless if you're 12 or 42) is to able to put things into perspective. Tell yourself that GT5 is a game. It's not made to fill your needs and wants but millions of other people who may not share the same opinions as you. Being able to accept things at face value is part of being a well rounded and happier human being.

I don't think I ever come across a more arrogant and misguided comment on a "public" forum.

Mr Premium made a valid point on an issue that clearly is important to many people who have followed the GT deries since it's inception. I'm also very dissappointed in PD's decision to only allow us to properly customise maybe 10-15% of the cars in the game (about a third of these premium models are race cars and therefore won't be customisable). Why bother allowing us to fit standard cars with body kits and custom paint colours if we have to keep the original alloys ? Can you imagine what an EG Civic will look like with a full aero kit and what looks like grey plastic wheel trim covers ? Don't get me wrong, some of the standard cars come with acceptable looking wheels but not many.

Like many people, I have a "process" when playing GT games. Part of this process is customising the appearance of the car I'm utilising. A lot of the time, this involves changing ONLY the wheels. I've been playing GT4 a lot over the last few months, and apart from trying to second guess which new cars will be in GT5 (to find very few of them to be there), the thing I had been looking forward to the most was customising the cars from GT4 in full HD glory. Now that just isn't going to happen.

But it's only a game. If I don't like it, I'll not play it.

Is that "rounded" enough for you ?

Have no idea why it will not work with pit-stops enabled, Game Manual says so. I also can't understand why Headtracking does not work for me, will check on that too. However, friend of mine told me it could be inter-conected to 3D option, which will be a bummer if true, since I do not have 3D set. Will explore this to.

When I went to the Sony Press Event here, the head tracking was working without 3D as well... So I guess that is enough grounds to explore it more... You do have to configure the sensitivities and such though from what I saw... :)

Amar, when you get a chance it would be nice to know more about the damage and what the punishments are. Does smashing up your car deduct prize money? Does it reduce level up points earned from the race?

I know this has little chance of being answered, but if one of the guys who actually has the game spots this could they please shed some light.

Does 2 Player splitscreen feature any AI cars. I am not hopeful, but it would be so much to have even four AI cars to race when my brother and I compete against each other

I'm confused as to why they dropped the standard/professional physics option. I know they replaced it with a slider but I'm wondering if the professional physics got gimped at all because of this.

Not at all, and there is no slider - where did you hear that?

Setting all assists to OFF makes physics extremely complex and challenging, much more than Prologue's and much refined than Academy TT Demo.

I gave a pretty deep overview about physics in the first post, so feel free to check it 👍

well atleast in microsofts game you can change rims on every car and it affects weight and in the same time the handling, in this you can change rims in about 200 cars and rest are stock lookers. And i also assume that changing rims doesnt affect weight/handling in this game :/ I have been looking so much forward to this game but now it seems its just a arcade tuner with nice physics... Theres gonna be other problems in this game that i think will be in here and they arent in microsofts.

Amar,

Thanks for this detailed informations. I appreciate that.

I really hope you can answer the following questions this evening.

How does it actually feel when you hit another car?
Plus, does it look real when you hit another car?

Because in this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vb9WEVcbzlY (2:09)
It looks really fake to me cause you can clearly see a big space between the two vehicles.

greetings

versous

Since you're online now amar

can you answer me?

Thanks

How about the pit crews in normal events and NASCAR events, do they perform the tires change in a diferent form or do they work equal in both events?

By the way amar are you sure about the F430 sound as tekken posted a video of it and it sounds simmilar to the one in prolouge

The more I read about this game, the less I want it... Right now, there are a few make or break features involved; mainly Race modification - will it be for all cars, or just a few premium models? And I can´t stress enough on the importance of mechanical damage. Of course visual damage has some immersive relevance, but mechanical is what counts.

I must say again that I feel loke PD have been focusing on the wrong things for a few years. I could´ve easilty done without the track editor and had more Premium cars instead. And I must ad that some included Premium cars are questionable at best... A VW Scwimmwagen is Premium, but the Veyron is not? I fail to see the logic.
However, if I´m able to racemodify the majority of the Standard cars I´m interested in, that´s a saviour. Otherwise I think I´m actually going to skip GT5 and wait for 6 instead. What is 6 more years in that perspective? :)

GT5 is not a Driving-Preparation-Simulator but a Driving-Simulator. In the real world, cars are crashing and going into pieces and so they should do in GT5.

Please, don't bother the word "simulator" haphazardly. You mean a game which sticks somehow to reality.
You should make a petition to logitech so they develop a device for their wheels which punches your face when you crash the car, with a strenght proportional to the speed. That would be the hell of realistic. Did you notice by chance that drivers go into pieces, too?

In 6 years the PS4 will be on top...:dopey:

You know nobody really takes comments like these with an ounce of credibility. Like most who make the same statement, you'll end up buying it within the first week.

Awesome to hear, thanks. So the new system is Skid Recovery System, and that should be the key between standard and pro physics (apart from the ABS, TCS).

Thanks again Amar for your thoughts/feedback.

Interesting that you can go karting on all the tracks. Really makes me wondering how long a karting-lap of the Nord. will take, and how many laps a full-tank will last. Haha, I wonder if you can go "flat" on the entire Nord?

Funny how different people's priorities can be.

I don't care about cars, GT will always have enough variety of layout, engine, weight etc, plus with basic modifying all you're adding with extra cars is a variety of shapes.

I don't really care all that much about damage either. In real life damage equals retirements, so if I'm going to take the game that seriously, I'll just retire from the race if I have a crash :)

What annoys me is the lack of some of my favourite tracks and the limitations of "weather". Cars do not add lifespan, track variety on which to use them does. The track editor may help, but I'm still disappointed.

Don't expect any form of Race modifications for standards. Mechanical damage is definitely going to be in the game. And there is no way anyone who is a GT fan is going to skip this game and wait for GT6, you're only fooling yourself.

I thought so too, but if I buy it, it will be for the holidays and no earlier. By then I think I will know everything I need to know to make a call on wether it´s worth it or not.
I guess we wont be seeing you online then. :)

Probably not. I don´t have an internet connection for my PS3 anyway.
