@amar212 Wait and try the Clubsport Pedals with ABS off in the settings, these are completely on another level compared to G25 pedals! :D

I feel obligated to say thanks to make up for how bad some people attitudes are... Thanks Amar! This is a better vicarious experience than reality tv! Aristotle would be proud :D

Thank you Amar for spending so much time and giving us the insight 👍

It's interessting to hear about the ABS, as we had the same experience at an event with a late demo.

Can you tell us something about the AI Difficulty, can it be set before each race?

How about the engine sound - premium or standard, are there differences, or do both models have the same sound quality?

Thanks mclogo

peoples way of playing games are totally different. why do only a handful of people understand this. Amar is not here for you. He plays the game how he wants, and shares information only on his own discresion. People will find pleasure in all the small details, have a look around the game, some people will powerplay GT life, people will mess around in arcade mode, people will jump straight into online mode. Just because you play it in a certain way does not mean that everyone should, and you should not demand anything from the great write up that Amar is doing.

This is a partial assumption here, but what is Amar is doing is exploring the game engine, he will play this game, like others for years to come, he has played previous gt in the same way, and trying to give us fans an insight into how the game works and how it differs from previous GT's. great job Amar.

Hey Amar if you have had a go at some arcade mode races, maybe you could let us know how FAST the AI are. Ive always found them to be really slow through the corners.

Cheers!

Great work Amar, you do more in an hour more than what the Czech guy did in a week!

Two questions:

First: have you seen any track not listed in the official tracklist? Just a yes / no answer would be enough, because if there's more I don't want to be spoiled.

Second: regarding the career mode structure, is it more like GT3, with a very structured progression, or more like GT4, where the list of races was in a sense all over the place with races by country, manufacturer, and skill level?

Is it possible to do a power shift / flat shift with the clutch on G25? I was quite annoyed when they disable this cause I can't drift properly without power shift...

Can You tell us - what about maping buttons on G25 ?
Can You choose shifters (on drivewheal) to turn on lights etc?
What about clutch is it just (on/off) or it depends how deep you push the pedal ??
Thanks for the answers.

Thanks for taking the time to do this in-depth review, it's been a great read and can't wait for the game. I do hope my G27 shifters work though - lol!

Hi guys, do you know if there are cars already for selection in Arcade mode when you start the game up, assuming you don't have GTpsp to transfer...thanks.

It probably will be yes Robulus, but wouldnt that be a welcome relief from the "league of gentleman"-esque state that its in now. Some serious crazies on here at the moment. Post delay stress disorder?

Hell yeah. I won't know anyway, i'll be driving race cars.

I too would like to know this information.

I think it's very important considering how many people have the G25 wheel.

Would you be so grateful to point us to the problems you have encountered and if you have been able to work around them?

Many thanks.

I'd like to give a big "thank you!" to amar! I know if I were in his position I'd probably forget the outside world existed for a couple of days, much less take the time to post such detailed, thoughtful, analysis.

On to my question: I guess it's more for when you get to GT Life, but is damage cumulative? By that I mean if I get into a fender bender doing one race does that carry over, from that same car, to another race, unless I get it fixed? That would add alot of nuance and character to GT Life in my opinion.

Even though I'm only a relatively new member, I'd like to first and foremost thank amar for sharing his thoughts on the game in order to in some small way counteract the giant mound of angst-filled questions and comments in this thread.

One thing I'm curious about is the relative difficulty (from a pure driving perspective) this game is compared to standard physics on prologue i.e. for those of us that are casual gamers only and kinda suck at racing games.

I'd also like to point out that Amar has repeatedly mentioned he is working through golding the license tests first, so it's natural he won't get to answer all questions about aspects of the game a pure license test may not touch on.

Are you able to catch a slide (oversteer) using your G25 and actually perform a drift?
Yes. You will soon find out that physics is in fact very refined Academy TT Demo physics - as I stated earlier. Refinement now includes work done especially in the field of tire-grip and feel of the weight-transfer on the steering wheel. If you can imagine complex physics as those in Academy Demo with proper grip and skid-snap included, you'll have the picture

God I can't wait to get GT5 and play with my G27!!!!!

Amar, please if there is a chance, connect your Fanatec wheel, Clubsport pedals and manual gearbox ( if you have one ), and check the functionality, the difference in force-feedback and load cell braking without ABS. I love my Fanatec Turbo S and clubsports and don't want to go back to G25 again. Thank you

Can I get confirmation that it is possible to have either

A) 2 seperate savegames, so i can have a save alone, and my wife can have a save.
B) can install and save, on 2 different profiles: so i can play off+online, and she can play offline.
C) No chance we can use 1 game only, and need to buy 2 games?

ps: Thanks for taking the time away from the game to answer questions, in all honesty i dont know if i could :)

i'm sure if you have to profiles (his and hers) when you load the game it will have sepreat game data for each profile.

this the case with LBP as all my mates kids have got diffrent profiles on my PS3

You misunderstand the direction of my questioning...

It is fair in questioning his opinion being so "productive" possibly with a degree of hype/excitment generated. Thats a realistic question to ask. However not meant in a bad way but to be clear if he really finds it so good so early and considering the following....

"From my first byte at physics and overall options - and all at this point have been into Options and Arcade modes only,

He continues by mentioning improvements with refinement, yet being more complexed/substantial and natural.
So by this report it seems evident the physics/handling and wheel performance are very good for a console game.

The report/overview is well balanced and appreciated. I just want to be sure its not being fuelled by "anticipation/excitment". Which it doesnt generally seem to be but its very informative/detailed on so little play testing regards the comments on wheel feedback/physics. I wanted to question and raise that factor...

Lets see if the people here instantly find it so improved or different, including yourself...

I think the difference between your take on things and mine is that I was already impressed with GT Academy physics, so in that regard I am not worried about GT5's physics, so I am not having any doubts about amar opinions on the subject.
