Thanks mate. Yeah it was dry, but a wet qualifying đź‘Ť

Very glad you retired from the series or I think you'd be the one in my position now lol :L

To be honest, I don't think so. You were genuinely faster then me at that Indy Test as well as faster at Spa. I may have run you for your money if I could get past you into turn 1 but otherwise I'd think you'd slowly pull away from me by a tenth or two a lap.

God only knows how you found so much speed . đź‘Ť

Very mad at myself for crashing.. then this happened:

CircuitdeSpa-Francorchamps.jpg

Oh noooooo... engine damage, lost 30 seconds in total :(

No offense, Peter, but how could you not miss me? :boggled:
In theory, if you hadn't hit me I would've gotten 5th, but you never know...

Oh yes, in this picture, I have just had a crash, what's happening here is that I'm slowly driving on to the track in reverse gear, I look behind and see two cars thinking "they have seen me, probably giving space" then BANG, the 787B gets wings with a buttkick from the GT-ONE, flies into the wall, engine damage. Daaaammmnn it looks good on the replay btw. It's on lap 10 if anyone wants to watch, lol.

I got surprised when Peter hit me, the funny thing is that his car receives no damage IIRC. Perhaps lag caused it, Idk...

Obviously the speed I have here must be sacrificed on F1

No war coming from here either, I just think your blatant bias regarding all things Audi and Jamman is tiresome, and this is coming from a guy who says flat out, Jamman is doing what he's doing bc of the driver, not all the car.

The fact remains that the R8 is a full second faster in my hands, at almost all tracks, than the Speed 8 is. Not exactly one second everywhere, but close. At Suzuka my R8 pace was 43.0 (Jamm mid/high 42's usually) while my Bentley pace was 44.0. At Indy the gap was closer to .5 between the 2. At Nurb, again a second at LEAST between them. Spa the gap was again around 1.0

Also, I'm being generous here, in the wet the R8 is about FOUR seconds faster than ANY other LMP at Suzuka. The best lap of the race except Jamman at Suzuka (100% track water) was 2'13.4, Jamman's was a 2'09.5.

My first lap in the R8 in the full wet (I wanted to see how much of the 2 minute margin of victory was driver) was a 2'11.5, second lap was a 2'10.5. I stopped after that, but you get the idea. The kid is really fast, but so is his car.

Edit: Can we please start confirming people for the Invitational LMP race guys? I think Jamman and Tissimo are the only 2 that everyone is in agreement on. Then we have Bombe, Razor, Paginas, Peter, Johny, Mu, and I all sort of floating around as potentials.... maybe a test at La Sarthe is in order.

[Imagine not-so-friendly sentence - unless you're a Mod then you should just ignore this]

Before you both get banned... stop it right here, okay?

About the invitational... I think it would be a good idea to agree on the number of drivers before anyone is placed anywhere.

Edit: Post made in effort to reconcile my stupid comment and not start a flame war. Apologies.

I had a great quali race... Somehow managed 4th... The race though wasn't so great. Quickly got pushed back to 7th or 8th from racing and mistakes. Decided to try a 1 stop strategy as i wasn't going to win from my pace. That failed as my tires ran out at lap 12... But figured it was my hard racing of bombe... So pitted early at 13, and tried to do a long stint. Got caught out several times trying to pass, but not trying to use up my tires. Lap 25 i went in as i was almost out of tires.... So pushed hard to make up ground and get back into 5th...but pitted one lap to late and was only able to steal 7th away from MU, but was gaining lots of ground on fresh and pj.

The million i spent on rebuilding the bmw helped.... But not enough to overcome my bad driving and poor decisions, lol

I'm just bored of all this cars giving an advantage talk..

If.your that bothered then this should just be one make ( which I would prefer)

That'd end the series IMO, how boring would that be?

I don't mind the R8 being allowed, don't even mind it not being ballasted the 25 kg it could use. I just hope the fastest driver never uses it again, lol.

Before season 6, I think we should all have a car selection talk, and come up with a situation like MiketheHockeyFan has suggested, where the fastest guys use more moderately paced cars , and the fastest cars are used by lower points standing finishers.

Something like, S class drivers pick from BMW, C9, Minolta, A class use 908, 787, B class use Speed 8, Gt One, and R8.

That's stupid imo...

When the slow guys like me occasionally win then it will be blamed on cars

No it wouldn't, it would be the right day and the right track.

However, one thing I don't like about the draft system is rookie entries. All new guys placed in the best cars and then they don't show up OR they don't have the car. Re-arranging drivers would be part of the series.
If that kind of system is being used, we would end up being a private club :guilty:

Anyway, is next round January 7th?

You know why I think this is false?

Going back to the very beginning of this series, NO FLUKES HAPPEN! lol! Ever. Off the top of my head, including preseason races and pre-league races, the winners in this series have been : McCauley, Maverick, BermudaKid, Ayrton Senna 1994, JakeGirard, Bombe, Mu, Jamman, Johny, Razor, Tissimo, and Paginas. That's all fast guys, all consistent guys.

AMF, even with my idea for structuring the car selection like that, I have to tell you, the same guys will win the races. Trust me.

To Bombe:

Nah, new guys would come in, and get cars based on skill level like everyone else.

I think we should do a one off test just to prove you wrong...

Nurb gp I'll have the Audi jam u and whoever can have BMW.. I'm pretty sure I'd win. I'd just need an hours practice to.be consistent pre race.

So its flawed imo

Jamman is a very good driver. That much we know. The Audi R8 '05 is a very good car (maybe too good). We know this as well.

However I suspect that the reason that Jamman is currently so good is because we have a situation where the best car and the best driver suit each other very very well which leads to even more speed compared with the others. (It is well known that if the car and the driver suit each other then they are naturally faster - I personally do not suit LMP cars and am much faster in DTM but it is all good)

How would you judge one's level when you haven't raced him?
Also, Idk if anybody remembers my first race ever (in the Bentley before S1), but between that race and my second race I improved with more than 10 seconds per lap. Really, you need to adjust the car class before your level is "revealed", so to say.

EDIT: Golfer, you're right, you don't fit these cars, lol. Anyway, sorry to see how everyone just went "Get out, golfer" today, lol. But we had a full grid, until Adam quit (expected) and BK had an invisible track.

Nurb GP is your best track. Jamm in the BMW vs you in the Audi at Nurb, that's a battle. That's what I want. Battles on track, which we have now, but I want the rubber band that stretches out from Jamman to Hofstee (sry Hoff) to snap back a ways.

Im starting to dislike lmp since the patch..

It's that or too much time on f1

Yes it would be fun too have some more battles.
Me vs bombe was good at Fuji
Me vs Jake nur

They probs wouldn't have happened if u were in better cars so maybe.your right..

I dont know
