Or just don't eat at all :P I rarely have lunch or dinner on weekdays nowadays, I'm too busy :/ Except for when it's an exam day, like today, I have to find a bit of time to have something. I need food for A level maths.

Weekdays are structured.... Weekend but so much, so usually miss a few meals.

Is the season 6 thread going up any time soon? It's said in the thread title for a week now "Look for S6 soon" :sly:

how soon soon is depends on how large the entire scale is. 2013 is soon if you are looking at a timeline going up until the year 3000

i thinking about the time, plust the rolex is in a week, and im not starting the season then. We will jump into round 1 right after that.

Announce the regulation changes (if any) well in advance to the start of the season so we can properly test our cars this time please.

Off Topic:
I was making a new BSpec Driver and the name J.Bieber came up.

sorry, I thought this was the Night series thread.

New HP Limit is 680, i havent added weight penalties yet.

Cool. Maybe running under the HP limit to increase tire longevity is a viable solution now, as tire wear has become this massive problem. Then again, now with the new (disputable) tire wear model, it's captured what Le Mans is about. Not just about going fast, but actually planning and thinking how you'll drive the race.

I mean if a 908 went all out for all 24 hours of Le Mans, it would break or go through all of their tires too fast.

hint hint.

If it were like Le Mans, we could do quadruple stints on a single set of tyres with laptimes hardly affected.

Keep in mind they use mediums, and do mid 30's most of the time.

Edit:
I just did some number crunching for the 2011 24 Heures, and they did 355 laps in 24 hours. 14.79 laps per hour. Just over 4 minutes per lap average.

Tires can last a long time when you're doing 4 minute laps.

They don't do 4 minute laps, there's refueling every 10 laps which takes like one minute, plus working on the car which can be 20mins or more

Plus cautions, and those cautions lasted a LONG time. They do high 3:20's and low 3:30's on the same set of tires for 3 or 4 stints. When they really push they can drop to low 3:20's, even in traffic. It's not HP, it's tire grip, Softs in the game are probably the closest to grip levels in real life, not mediums, not hards. And they do last for a while. Oh well. What I do wonder is if the 908 is accurately depicted in acceleration terms. With it's awesome amount of Torque, it should out accelerate the normal LMP's, even if it's top speed is 10kmh slower, it should reach it's top speed about a second faster.

Oh right... forgot about the hours of cautions.

As for the refueling every 10 laps, if I remember correctly Audi was every 14 and Peugeot every 13.

thats about 25 pits for Audi, 27 for peugeot. if each pitstop was a minute long, that's a 4:30 lap so I'll remove 112.5 minute for Audi and 121.5 minutes for peugeot.

safety car from 00h 58m until 02h 03m, 07h 42m to 10h 04m, 14h 01m to 14h 20m, 15h 06m to 15h 30m, 16h 40m to 17h 10m, 280 minutes of safety car.

That means they didn't drop below 3:20's, were probably closer to low/mid 3:30's if I can remember some of the numbers correctly.

That's racing med/softs speeds. I know that the Peugeots went to around 3:21's in the night when they could actually use softs. Meds only last me about 6 laps and softs about 3 or 4. That's mostly my setup's fault. I think tiss's 905 could do 4 in softs and 7 or 8 in meds if you're conservative. Thats still not as much as the actual tires they used.

Michelin says that the R18 used one set of tires for 5 stints, 55 laps. Probably closer to around 65. That's probably the meds.

Speaking of temperature, does GT5 take that into account?

I just had to change my oil after 8 laps of LeMans. Before it was never that bad for me. From 680 hp down to 648. Ruined my test data.

Did they change that?

On a side note: While I agree the tire wear isnt as realistic, I think PD did it right. They made the tires last shorter so that the short races that are always being held actually require tire management instead of running 10 laps straight, and it makes the season finale like a mini le mans for us. tire management and all.

BK is there a thread up for that 1 off LMP race with the other guys. Its just so I can tell the people I race with to have a look.

New season, awesome pedals
