Yeah, I think I answered the poll question back when I was sporting my parents' '96 626...things have changed a bit .

Hmm... Danger Mouse really does seem to have a patch over one eye at the moment...

Good blimey! How do you even see over the headlights when they're up while driving?;)
It really looks like you need some bulbs that glow white.

Hehe, I love driving with the headlights up, actually. It was weird at first because going around town you get reflections from the streetlights on the back of the units, pretty strange! Funnily enough, I've found visibility to be pretty good too regardless of whether the headlights are on or not, I find my line of sight is just over the centre-line of the windscreen, but at the same time the seat feels nice and low too. Still really enjoying it!

As for white bulbs, I'll pass. I hate the light they give off. I think unless you have proper HID headlamps then white bulbs aren't worth the money. My mate has some in his 3-Series and it's awful at night, doesn't seem very effective at all at lighting up the road. As I do most of my driving at night at the moment I'll stick with what I prefer!

Plus, white bulbs somehow wouldn't look right on the Mk1. A yellowish glow suits the looks better I reckon 👍 Anyway, I'm off into town now to grab some new bulbs. One of the rear brake lights has gone too... Going to get some foam rubber too, as I've discovered the rattling coming from my engine bay is actually the bonnet rattling against the stop at certain revs. Will make commuting a whole lot quieter!

My brother has high intensity white globes in his VN Commodore and he says they're heaps better than normal globes. I have normal ones in my Ute though.

Congrats on getting that license back! Now don't lose it again, wouldn't want that pretty little GTi sitting around again, would you?

Ok. Here is the car I own:

1971 Datsun 510

I4 L16 1.6L Engine bored out to something. I dont know what (Going to install a turbocharger next year) Rebuilt with about 4000 miles on it.
Weber Carb
Dogleg 5-speed transmission
Tokico Front and Rear shocks
Toyo Proxes 4 tires on 15'' Z Rims (by the way, does anybody know which Z my rims came off of? I cant tell)
Seats out of an Acura
500W sound system
Battery Relocated to rear
New front steering assembly

Thats a very well manicured lawn across the road from you. I also love how they crammed 3 cars into a 2 car driveway.

Is that JUST how boring you think his car is? lol.

I love the old-skool Dattos. Seen a few of those going around town that have SR20DETs swapped into them and they actually go pretty damn good.

I actually like the car. Old school Datsuns are awesome, and he's done his right so far, especially with throwing on the old school Z rims. I was just poking fun at his neighbours house and how the "hickness" over powers the picture.

And the funny part: I live in NorCal.
About my car, I bought it in March from a guy who was turning the 510 into a rat rod. My dad and I are restoring it to its "former glory" and we have done a pretty good job of it so far... The car actually had EU SU carbs, which since they dont technically work well with japanese cars, we having problems, so we replaced it with a Weber. we still need an air filter on it. we actually bought the car with no muffler, so we bought a magnaflow muffler. we are still working to get rid of the "questionable" techniques he used in working on the car (he put 4 different kinds of bolts on the front fenders!) but a couple months after my dad got the car for me, he got laid off (he was financing the stuff for the car because i have no job, but i have been searching for like 3 years). He just recently got a job this month so hopefully i will be able to get some stuff done on it... Namely bodywork and a paintjob

It's been a while since my last post.. but i couldn't resist posting a few pictures of my new (automotive)pride. It's a '99 Honda Accord Type-R (Championship white, limited edition #45/50). I bought this car last october. There's a 212BHP 2.2L VTEC-engine inside (H22A7)!!!

currently fixing up an old 1969 mustang. Still needs paint and a few luxuries (like SEATS) on the inside but it runs and makes a sound like no other.

Unfortunately getting this meant selling my old 1999 Camry. So as of now I am using a bike

Mustang for a Camry? Sounds like a reasonable sacrifice to me!

So now that you've had it a while, what do you think? Anything to complain about?
Yes:
-The steering wheel does not telescope
-There is no lumbar adjustment on the seats
-You can't see anything when backing out of a parking space
-On extremely wet roads, it becomes a boat
-No rear wiper

Are any of these issues I concern myself with? NO! I love it to pieces :D.

Yeah, too many girls, not enough days in the year.
...and it only holds one ;).
