It's been a while since my last post.. but i couldn't resist posting a few pictures of my new (automotive)pride. It's a '99 Honda Accord Type-R (Championship white, limited edition #45/50). I bought this car last october. There's a 212BHP 2.2L VTEC-engine inside (H22A7)!!!

Nice đź‘Ť You're in good company, Famine/Milford Cubicle on this forum also have an Accord R.

Yes:
-The steering wheel does not telescope
-There is no lumbar adjustment on the seats
-You can't see anything when backing out of a parking space
-On extremely wet roads, it becomes a boat
-No rear wiper

Are any of these issues I concern myself with? NO! I love it to pieces :D.

...and it only holds one ;).

Cool, just curious as I'd like to have one after my Si is paid for. I'm really hoping to see like a 450Z by then, with a 400hp 4.5L V8...

And for the record, my Civic:

-Has a steering wheel that does everything but move to the left and right
-Has no lumbar adjustment on the seats
-You can't see anything when backing out of a parking space because of the 20% tint
-Water + Michelin MXM4s = don't do anything stupid (which, if they were like a really high performance tire that sacrificed tread pattern for dry grip would be cool, but they are just a trash tire all around, and $212 each)
-No rear wiper

So I should be pretty happy. My cousin is actually trying to find a used 350Z or G35 right now. Going to have me really jealous for a while I think.

why i see this message?????
"You may not vote on this poll" :(

Not a clue...Perhaps you need a certain number of posts before you're allowed to vote, as part of an anti-spam measure?

Dealers around here are selling new (2008) 350Z's for under $20k.

Well his budget is about $15k. And we're in Illinois, so unfortunately that trip is well out of the question, particularly in winter.

Thanks.

She's got a bit more work to have done, but she runs halfway decent for a 79.

One of these days she'll be all done up and really pretty.

I actually prefer it when they aren't in perfect shape. It means the owner is using it for it's intended purpose.

Understand that point, but after 30 years, things start to go.

Suspension upgrade is next. Already have fiberglass rear spring, probably going to convert front end to a spring set-up. The front bushings are the original rubber.

Everything I do is designed to make her more driveable. Already got a TKO-600 5-speed in her, helped the mileage quite a bit. Plus running through the gears is a lot more fun.:D

I have a 2000 VT II Holden Commodore (well Berlina, I like all the extra electronics!!)

looking to upgrade to a VZ wagon soon though, like them alot, especially with a body kit

I used to own a VT II (an optioned executive though), spent way too much money on it though.

currently fixing up an old 1969 mustang. Still needs paint and a few luxuries (like SEATS) on the inside but it runs and makes a sound like no other.

Unfortunately getting this meant selling my old 1999 Camry. So as of now I am using a bike

My ride rules
You're my hero

Just get a seat real fast for the Stang. Heck, bolt down a lawnchair in there!

Great choice in Chevy's you got there. The more voluptuous vette, with the best looking Sierra ever made. I approve. And I'm a Ford guy đź‘Ť

And also one of the slowest (unless he tinkered with the engine). :sly:
Unfortunately true, they had only 200 horse. If he got the Cross-fire Injection. And that came in '82 IIRC. Still a way clean ride and he installed a 5 speed? Win. Epic Win. The C3's were far and away being my favourite gen Corvette style. Drive the wheels off her. đź‘Ť

Cheers,
Jetboy

I'd say. My friend in his '74 convertible lined up against my friend in his '93 Camaro Z28 at a light (in a fictional simulation arcade racer of course) so I pulled up behind the Corvette in my moms '96 minivan. When the light turned green, they both punched it, so I did too, and almost slammed into the back of the Corvette!

I should note that it was not in the greatest condition, and it had sat on his parents front lawn for almost 15 years before he got it running and started fixing it up, but it still should have been faster than that.

Thank you for the kind comments.

Well, as far as I know (didn't get to ask previous owner) it's a stock L48, which for '79 was 195.

Lowest HP was actually '75, when the L48 had a whopping 165hp. Seems to me, the 'worst' engine was the '80 LG4 California 305, but it did have 180hp.

I haven't tinkered with the engine yet. In fact, not going to. Let this one run as she can, and when it's time, my choice right now will be a 408 from TandL, 510hp/500tq.

Ran this when it still had the auto w/shift kit, and my first day on the strip, won my club's drag day!

Yep, I busted by .061, but the other guy red-lighted!

That C3 ran a 16.3? Crikey, I'd probably give you a run for your money.:sly: Once I get my sports exhaust and ECU this year it'd be very close if I didn't win. I wonder what mine will run, given I'm inexperienced with hard launches.........

That's about average for a stock '79 L48. Remember, only 195 HP, and almost 3000 lbs.

I'm thinking that the Sierra could probably take it in the 1/4.

That was also my first day drag racing, and on my fifth and final run.

You just might win!

It took me 2 years, a few jobs and being late on rent a handful of times in order to save up for my Audi A4 (B5). I like to keep it simple and I like my cars White (as a matter of fact every car I have ever owned has been white). At the time of the picture I still had the rims it came with (used Axis 19'' with dark gunmetal faces :indiff:) which I actually did not like what-so-ever. I took a front shot because I didn't want them in the photo. I eventually got rid of them and now have some simple replica Audi A4 rims which look like the ones that these cars come with from the factory. I am also thinking about putting an old school Porsche gas cap on it .

To answer the poll; I love my car! I also had a VW Jetta for awhile but just got rid of her last July. It is always sad getting rid of a car you had history with. I hope the new owner takes good care of it or else I will have to hunt him down and give him a Columbian neck-tie.
