I laughed. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaard.

Care to post some form of proof that it runs 7.50s?

Ain't gonna happen. You can cheat physics but you can't cheat them that hard.
You're right, I was too busy thinking of the Supra & don't know why I didn't type 9 instead of 7. I apologize. :dunce:

Regardless, it puts down all 600+whp easily with the tires the Welds are wrapped in, which was in reply to mason, not you.
I have knowledge on autoX & if that thing's got 1000hp, there's no way it could use it all on a super tight layout. (as in ones where those wings would barely come into play) But yea.. this is stupid, the-end. (for real this time :P)
You keep using words such as "super tight" to constantly validate your point, which isn't the same what you were originally saying.

That's obvious, but these cars aren't going to see auto-x to begin with & the open road doesn't consist of "super tight" curves everywhere, esp. not in the US. These cars are built for high end power & a source of adrenaline rush on the strip, runways, or in Mexico. Most of these owners can appreciate what cars like a Miata do, but they're still considered way too slow for them to enjoy.

Breaking my word again, lol. Maybe there aren't roads like that in Texas but there're plenty of long rural stretches that qualify around here. Considering they're remote mountain roads, they're far from groomed as well. (so attempting to put down 600hp+ in most places would likely result in lots of wheelspin, especially in a 2wd) These areas are no doubt similar in many ways to what Radracing's blessed enough to experience the beauty of Porsche on. 👍

Also, yes I did originally reference autoX, except my apologies.. instead of "super tight" I used the words "really technical" layout. They're one and the same in my mind and akin to the mentioned rural stretches in that extremely powerful vehicles are unlikely to find areas where upper gears are of use.. at least very often. I'm glad you thought of a way to back out of your 7.5s caddy claim and have conceded that at least some of these megabeasts can't always make use of all their power. Close enough to the truth for me I guess! :P

EDIT - FWIW, I completely understand why a Miata/similar, would be completely boring to most with the money to build cars as have been spoken of. that goes without saying

Wouldn't call it easily seeing as you'd kinda need somewhere around an extra 4-500hp at MINIMUM to run mid-7s given the weight of the car, and considering that car doesn't have enough tire to hook all that well at those power levels (i.e. it isn't tubbed), it'd need more than that.

So yes, let's take a boosted small-block and then add 5-700hp of nitrous to it. Lemme know how that works out.

I said "a car", meaning in general. I wasn't speaking about a specific car.

I didn't back out of anything. I admitted I made a typo. But, given your lack of knowledge of high horsepower cars, you wouldn't have known the difference to begin with.

I didn't do this, either. But, you keep thinking that. You've more than proven you don't have the slightest clue on how these cars are setup, let alone have any experience with it.

I suggest you go back to giving MrMelancoly advice. You both seem to have all the knowledge in the world on autocross when you reply to each other.

Does yours have the original orange repeater/indicators? I have a soft spot for those - I don't even know why, when I was a kid I used to hate them.

Well , the previous owner had clear corners on the car. i purchased an amber set though , they're just sitting at my shop for now . i've always preferred amber over the clear corners. a large mojority of enthusiast prefer the " euro " look with the clears , my dad had a 1997 Estroil M3 Coupe back in 97. i loved that car

It depends on the car but the problem with the "euro" look in many cases, is the true European version, (for dated cars anyways), actually have an orange reflector area of sorts behind a clear lens.. which produces a different look altogether. (usually a metal reflector with a clear bulb in my experience) When these kids just slap a clear reflector & clear, or even amber bulb in place, I don't consider it "euro" at all. (it's more ricey than anything) If I want euro lenses, I get mine proper - from Euroland! which I have in the front of my MX-3. In Miata's it happened that they got the same design treatment in Japan, so I put J-spec signals in its nose. 👍

yeah i guess , i'm not a fan of clear corners to begin with , the clear set that came on the car when i purchased it are by Depo, half the cost , but not made as well as OEM ( of course ) . mind you i said , " Euro Look " , i mean if i came across a OEM clear corner set ( tail lights and corners ) that is at a reasonable price i would buy them.

i need to install my amber corner and tail set, speaking of those things.

As always it depends on the car but I much prefer them in some cases.. (again, when not of the ghetto ricer appearance)

That said, I'm not really a fan of clear tails at all. (factory or not) There're few which retain the same traditional "E-spec" look, (such as the first linked corner marker), where there's actually quite a bit of color behind the lens, even when not lit. I blame cars like the Lexus IS300, which seemed to usher in an age of ricey looking factory clears/kill the cool old E-spec look in most cases.

http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-rev...ling-rivalry---porsche-911-turbo-vs-boxster-s

Just did a quick search, Boxter S 7sec slower on track. I thought he had an early model Boxter, correct me if I'm wrong. Also a blip in the article stating they prefer the 911 on windy country roads and then compliment the suspension.

You forgot to mention Steve Millen's quote

As Steve Millen said after his track session, "The Boxster has such terrific feel through the steering, and you can take it deeper than the Turbo on the brakes, with not as many small corrections. There's some understeer on turn-in, but it stays neutral all the way to the exit, very stable. In a corner, it just takes a set and goes."

This shows that the Boxster although inferior in horse power is still easier to drive in tight winding roads. So you confuse this with his comment on the Turbo being driven in their preferred winding road. Meaning a road more suited for a Turbo.

Qoute: On the winding, backcountry roads we prefer, the 911 Turbo is a delight. The steering is taut, but with lots of feedback and a bit of kickback too. The suspension is firm and anchored to the pavement, thanks to the very wide Pirelli P Zero tires, giving the Turbo driver a sense that any corner can be taken at most any speed within the limits of tire adhesion.

If you look at the image below the road we drove in was so tight you would be lucky to get out of 2nd gear and even if you did you would have to hit the brakes as soon as you did get out of 2nd. So this wouldn't be the suitable road for a Turbo to stretch its horse power. I'm not trying to talk down on the Turbo as an inferior car to a Boxster it is by no question a far superior car than my lowly Boxster. All I am saying in this scenario with tight windy roads it levels the playing field a bit just like in an autocross track.

'02 Ford BA XR6 Turbo
Lowered
PBR rotors, calipers and braided lines
Exhaust
Heavy Duty Clutch
Custom Dyno flash tune
Short-shift kit
K&N panel filter
254KW at the wheels

Quick in a straight line. Drove it at Phillip Island, not so nimble around the corners. Awesome brakes though

I have a Hugger Orange 1999 Chevrolet Camaro SS, GT5 has a 2000 SS. I wish GT5 had the black roofs on the Camaros.

Old cars:
1999 Honda Prelude with a Euro-R H22A + LSD swap, there are a few JDM Preludes with this engine in GT5.

1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX, GT5 has the fwd '95 Eclipse GT- and the rubbish non-turbo Talon.

1996 Chevrolet Camaro SS 6-speed. GT5 has the LT1 Z28.

1992 Chevrolet Camaro RS, 1992 Chevrolet Camaro Z28- both kind of similar to the IROC Concept in appearance.

Update -> Well, Gladys (Subaru GL), Ody (Honda Odyssey), and Tomo (Corolla GTS) are gone...

Sweet car!

I'm curious though. How come the back of the two front seats are designed differently? What's inside of those storage compartment-looking things? :)

The passenger seat has this:

And drivers is just a pull out compartment, kind of a solid version of the storage nets you find on the back of other seats.

A few more pics:

My goodness, that's magnificent! I love that secret compartment with the Audi glasses in it. Thanks for posting those pictures. 👍

Edit: That drinks tray must be a rare optional extra. I can't find any A8's with it on Autotrader... not even on other W12's.

Wouldn't be suprised if owners are riding with those without even knowing it
