I believe the term came from teh original clear signal guys and for some reason graduated to being used when altezzas came out? I dunno, that's just a guess. Personally, I like the "euro" look, but I don't like altezzas or clears, for tails. At the same time, I don't like completely clear "signal" lenses either. (it's alright on some cars) I have genuine euro corner signals in the front of my MX3. They have a clear reflector, but have a little bit of amber reflective material around the clear light inside, so in the daytime, it's clear with a hint of orange and at night, it's kindof a "cleaner" orange. For my front side-marker lights, I did the next closest thing, got clear reflectors and put an orange bulb behind. (have been too lazy to heat them, pull them apart and paint the inner housing) Now go to the rear of the car and I won't touch it, I just don't think it matches. The reason, IMO, why it looks good up front is because the headlights are clear, so it makes the whole front end look cleaner. But in the rear, you have colored lenses, so changing just a side or signal lense back there to clear, it just doesn't match to me. (and as I said before, I don't really care for altezzas or clears in the back, so.. -one exception can be made, the ones for miatas are cool)
peace,

Have you looked at the specs for the US version of the Mitsubishi Lancer?
Its ashame that Mitsu brought the Lancer over in such a detuned state of performance. This will for sure give the Lancer a bad rep for the tuners here in the US.
Compare figures for the Japanese spec to the US and you will know what I mean.
Not knocking the Lancer, nice looking, aggressive styling, but no kick in the pants.
Btw, the Malibu sport version will run rings around the Lancer in its top line form. Lancer will run maybe low 16's in the 1/4 and the Malibu's have been known to run mid15's.
Sorry for the bubble burst.

I have front and rear anti sway bars. too bad the malibu didnt,it might be a more allaround performer then. I seen one in a magazine that had a single turbo and it flew low 13's high 12's. Cant wait to see what I can do with a Kkk turbocharger...lotta money though it will take 3 yrs of saving to pay for parts labor, and maybe some modifications.
no it was a malibu, nonsense,, the mirage has a thinner front end and the interior is definatley different.different motors also. Thats like saying the Ford Focus is a Prettier Aspire...heh heh.Originally posted by Ser0119
I wasn't aware of any magazines modding the US Lancer yet. Are you sure you didn't see a Lancer Evo in the magazine. Or were you talking about a Malibu in a magazine with a turbo?? The US Lancer is nothing but a prettier Mirage, sorry.

I love the Sentra Se-R's. Nice performance figures and dont need a lot of mods to make faster.
Compared to the new ones, everyone likes the older SE-R's much better.
Nissan seems to be having a problem with having their horse power figures on the new Altima's and the new SE-R's.
Super Street, SportCompact magazines just dont see those figures like Nissan gives them.
Love your car man. Lets see some specs for it and some track times.

MitsubishiLancer, way to go on the performance goals.
I agree, they are a bit slow from the factory, but with the right tuning, can be made very fast.
On the Lancer being a prettier Mirage, they are two separate platforms so I dont see how it can be prettier. If anything, the Lancer will have much more potential than the Mirage any day. Look at the dominance of the Lancer Evolution in rallying and road racing events, not bad. Cant ever remember a Mirage doing that.
MitsuLancer, nice free car for sure and youve got a wonderful platform to start on.
Good luck in your plans and happy modding.
