congrats! feels good dont it :D

Thanks, it feels great, speacialy since i had that in my practice account but couldn't make it in the GTP one. First time i hit 35 was a huge relief.:dopey:

But i have a feeling the 47 on the red one will be harder, since i haven't driven that car in ages.

Anyway, personal goal is to get into the 3'23 club. The rest is profit, since i'm not running for any prizes.

Haven’t been on the time trial for about a week so I had two good sessions on it today to try and get a half descent time in the tuned car and managed to beat my PB by a massive 15 thousandths of a second! what an achievement! :banghead: I'm sure I'll get it down more tomorrow though.

Yeah I officially finished with the tuned today. Haven't done laps in the red car in over a week. So with the remaining days I wanna get my normal time down and join the 3'23 club also.

Frustratingly enough I spent the last two days trying to improve my tuned time but to no avail. My record is 1'35.994 - today my best was 1'35.997 :yuck: ..It's really annoying because I was usually over a tenth faster in the first sector every time but my last sector was just unreal so it was all in vein. I was getting close until 10 minutes ago when the electricity in my house randomly cut for 2 minutes and I was like **** this im done.

Normal starts tomorrow for the next few days and hopefully I can knock .409 off my overall time! :nervous:

Great laps everyone, I havn't been tempted to compete in a pointless challenge to claim the overall world record, although I must congratulate Takeuchi, Lars, and ofcourse Timppaq for achieveing very very good times;)

The last couple of days I thought I couldn 't improve anymore, but yesterday I knocked 2 tenths of my tuned time. And now I feel I might actually get under 1.37. Tonight I'll have another go with the stock car. I know I can improve.., but the TC is so annoying :banghead: I want to get below 3'27.000

Dualschock 3
Stock : 1'49.819
Tuned : 1'37.202

Total : 3'27.021

Had another session tonight, the Tuned car is too much fun to switch to the Normal car. :D

Tuned: 1'36.041
Normal: 1'48.501
Overall: 3'24.542

A bit faster lap with normal car, and you'll find yourself in Australian TOP20. 👍 On the other hand, a bit faster lap with TUNED car would also put you in there. :D

My records:
tuned: 1'36.018
normal: 1'48.141
total: 3'24.159

Finland #8, Scandinavian #10, world #226 and falling.

My run has come to an end....... i can't seem to extract any more, and i'm tied up with work for the remainder of the week and out of town until Monday night from Saturday. Tonight i just continually made stupid errors that i normally wouldn't make, it was pointless pounding around in that headspace.

So, my final times:

Tuned: 1'36.106
Stock: 1'48.271

Total: 3'24.377

Have lost 5 spots in the last 48hrs, and 3 spots in the last 6 hrs to slip to 20th in Australia.

If you had of asked me 10 days ago if would i be happy going sub 3'24.500 i would have taken it and run happily....... but now i just feel annoyed and disappointed that i've come so close yet not been able to get over the line into the national finals...... I haven't put so much effort into one thing for a bloody long time.... not even my real life job gets this much focus!

Anyways, good luck for the final few days all..... congrats to the Top 20 in all competition areas, and enjoy the national finals!

Hey you're in the same place as me...1.49.6 and 1.37.3, just under 3.27. But as soon as I made that target I set another one.

Don't worry that tenth is definitely there! I took off 0.125 within 5 laps of starting as I just felt relaxed and into it, Turns 1-4 just flowed and off came the time. I can run mid 1.37s now reasonably often.

Yes.., we are really close 👍
My target has always been a top 100 finish in the Netherlands, and right now I’m on 105th position.
But time is also running out, and I don’t have much time to race this week. I feel like I have more room for improvement in the stock car…, but it feels like torture to drive it.
Last week I only drove the tuned car, and now I can run mid .37 constantly.
I can’t wait to go home and start racing again…, it’s so addictive :)

Oh, cammon Dan, you know everybody is waiting to see what you have been cooking...

:D

You guys are insane :)
But anyway my feeble efforts (what else can you call them using sixaxis and AT!)

1.37.872 for the tuned
1.50.1XX for the normal

Putting me an almighty 472 in the UK alone... ouch.

nice statement. :sly: a pointless challenge in a pointless game.....

Me too, that and way too many WRS racers would die of shock if I posted a world record :-D So which challenge does actually have a point, I must have missed that thinking this was all just a game:confused:

I'd like to be top 100 in Australia, but like you I'm going to be out of time very soon. Last night I was probably 5 laps away from taking another 0.1-0.2 off but ran out of time. And again like you I only started with the Tuned last week and now I can also do mid-high 1.37s without too much drama.

It's good to know there is at least one person on this board who isn't fifteen light years ahead of me!

A friend came round yesterday and after 10 laps in the Tuned managed a best of 1.59 never having played before.

My girlfriend who never plays video games was getting 2'12-2'15 with the tuned at first (yea it is possible; always flying into the grass or completely spinning around) and after about 30 laps, and non-admittedly, getting into the game, she managed a 1'48 which surprised the hell out of me. :odd:

Well yesterday I said I would find a bit more time today after trying for ages and only making up 15 thousandths of a second. I really thought I was approaching the limit of my ability but I've just done 9 laps and I was consecutively faster for the first 5 laps and half laps and made up 2.5 tenths but the great thing is I know I can go even faster, I love this demo!

I love this demo!

I hate this demo...

Just spent another frustrating session that ended in me, once more, being a few hundredths off my best. And it's not that I'm close to my limit. The laps I'm doing now are very sloppy. If I could keep it just reasonably well together there are 3-4 tenths to gain at least.

So I finnaly moved my PS3 to the place where I am during the week for school, and here I am able to play on full HD (1080P). And it really helped alot after driving for 2 hours in the tuned car I shaved off 0.242. I noticed its mutch easier now to get consistent laptimes I am really happy with this. I still hope to find 0.150 improvement in the tuned car. My time currently is 1'36.502 still using the pad.
Tommorow I really need to get on the normal I have a day off from school, and a new TV to help get a descent time :).

HD tv is sweet 👍 Good luck with the normal car today.
Yesterday I improved .250 with the normal car, now my time is 1'49.569
My overall time is 3'26.771 now.., finally broke trough 3'27.000:) so I'm pretty happy with that.

Ugh. 1.40.080 something for the tuned car, using a pad. I think I can get that down by maybe 2 seconds, if I could put my 'perfect' lap together. Not too great.
I bought a DFGT at the weekend, but its proving really difficult to get to grips with. Still more than 3 seconds off my best time with the pad, and spinning out so many times, and spending a lot of time going sideways & backwards. It seems impossible to catch a slide before it evolves into a spin (not that sliding will get my time down any, but at least I can complete more laps rather than endlessly restarting!).
Do you guys drive with 'Power steering' on or off? FFB is set to 5, which feels about right.

Made an improvement in the normal car tonight:

Tuned: 1'36.041
Normal: 1'48.233
Overall: 3'24.274

Also managed to get myself back in the top 20 in Australia, sitting at P16. :)

That is mighty impressive 👍, I don't think I would be able to get sub 1:40 using a pad.

Yeah steering wheels do take time to get used to but if you just stick at it I'm sure you'll better your time set on a pad, when I got used to my wheel I was roughly 0.5 to 1 second faster on every circuit on GT5P I think because you can be a lot more precise with steering, braking & accelerating. Having said that GTP_CICO proves you don't need a wheel to be fast. I have power steering off and FFB set to 7, I'm not sure if that makes me any quicker but it certainly feels more realistic.

Found some time in the normal car yesterday: 1´48´024

Now with that time i finally joined the 3´23 group with a total time of 3´23´955.

After the psychological barrier broken i think i will be more "cool" now.

Had a session yesterday after taking a break for a while, was very excited to make some good progress! :dopey:

Tuned: 1'35.757
Normal: 1'47.847
Total: 3'23.604

I'm pretty sure this may be the end of progress for me, but I will try and get another session or two in before the end. I am really looking forward to seeing full grids again after we all finish with this thing
