Had a session yesterday after taking a break for a while, was very excited to make some good progress! :dopey:

Tuned: 1'35.757
Normal: 1'47.847
Total: 3'23.604

I'm pretty sure this may be the end of progress for me, but I will try and get another session or two in before the end. I am really looking forward to seeing full grids again after we all finish with this thing :cheers:

I noticed your progress, great going! Carl and TA sucked the wind out of my sails long ago :lol: Very interesting how little work it takes to stay in the top 20 in America.

Full Grids? What is that? You mean more than 1 car can be on track, and you don't race the clock?! What a revolution! I look forward to that day :)

Great times El_Z :)

I'm going to do a session later today myself. Looks like Carl's beginning to turn up the heat as the deadline approaches :scared: I need to get my butt in gear :dopey: :lol:

Thank you sir. I came back to edit my post but I'll just say it here- I forgot to mention, I owe loads of thanks to you and Carl and DK for giving me a variety of people to race against along the way. I have no doubt that I'd be much slower if I didn't have some friends with lots of talent to chase. Thank you! :dopey:

@ E, ME TOO SIR :D

That is mighty impressive 👍, I don't think I would be able to get sub 1:40 using a pad.

Thank you :).

HD tv is sweet 👍 Good luck with the normal car today.
Yesterday I improved .250 with the normal car, now my time is 1'49.569
My overall time is 3'26.771 now.., finally broke trough 3'27.000:) so I'm pretty happy with that.

Thanks, as it turned out I now have a 1'48.668 (-0.360) I know there is still 0.100 left in it for the normal car.

This puts me in place 29 overall with a combined time of 3'25.170.

Annnnnd i was just this close of getting to your time and then bam!:scared:

Great work there:tup:

I know not a lot of people are playing in america, but the top five is still going strong.

...several hours to gain 0.059 off with the normal.

Total = 3'23.715

Normal = 1'47.900
Tuned = 1'35.815

Target times are;

Normal = 1'47.899
Tuned = 1'35.750

Please, take it easy on me sir :) I think I'm pretty close to my limit in both cars now. Maybe .1 more in the tuned and .150/.2 max in the stock.
Don't know if I can find it in the time we have left.

@ E, ME TOO SIR :D

Congratulations on your recent laptimes, and thanks to you too sir, I really hope we get a good event update for Prologue next week. Otherwise, no more Prologue TT's for me. I think when this event is over, I'm gonna be done with TT's for a good...long...while.

Improved my tuned car lap with a 1'35.710. Definetly need to get a little off the normal car and i will be happy,currently 1'47.979 and a total of 3'23.689.

Made an improvement in the normal car tonight:

Tuned: 1'36.041
Normal: 1'48.233
Overall: 3'24.274

Also managed to get myself back in the top 20 in Australia, sitting at P16. :)

I'm gonna get myself in trouble with work if this continues much longer.... thank god it finishes on Monday!!!

Took off early from work this arvo (a 10.5 hr day instead of a 12-13hr day), got myself fed and calm for the battle........... and gave it a red hot go.

FINALLY, in the '35's with the Tuned!!!!

Tuned: 1'35.972
Normal: 1.48.271

Total: 3'24.243 (P18)

There is major major positional changes going on with the Australian leaderboard.... you can virtually refresh and watch the ladder change.

Now....... to try and re-arrange the weekend trip out of town to get the Normal time down!!!

What! It's Australia Day mate, you've got to get on the barbie, watch the cricket.....playing GT is UnAustralian on that day!

Yes I just jumped ten places, didn't think anyone noticed. But you wouldn't have been looking that high up!

Just got back in the Normal after over a week of Tuned. Slight difference.

FINALLY, in the '35's with the Tuned!!!!

I wish! Well done.

A small improvement for me in both.
Tuned 136.2
Normal 148.2
Puts me P36 (UK)

Off to work now, will slave some more later...

Tuned car is 1:41.306. Cant remember my normal car one because I don't use it often as the electronic rubbish such as traction control etc.. annoys the heck out of me.

and I'm using a Sixaxis. and im ranked about 3,000+ something.

just spent 3 hours flat on the normal... got within .05 of my quickest time, but to no avail.

leaves me 47th on the aussie boards!

i had a good session yesterday with "black beauty"...nearly every of the approx. 20 laps i did was very close to my old record...so my new time there (with controller) is 1 1:38:020...guess i can make a high 1:37 soon...
together with the 1:50:984 with the "red beast" I am place 555 in Germany now...

I would really like to know what the sharing (correct word here?) is regarding wheel vs. controller? At least in the top 250 the wheel percentage I guess is very high...
Does anyone has got concrete data/numbers about this?
Would be nice to have kind of "steering type filter" for GT5 rankings

A question offtopic: I couldn't find a thread where funny ID-nicks are listed...Doesn't such a thread excist?...for example I raced against "Careful-Slow_Driver" a few days ago... LMAO

C U on the track...

Thanks for that link, reneetje!
Global: I counted 17 out of 500...wow...this would be only 3.4%...
Germany: I counted 24 out of 250...wow...under 10%...
but there is following note at the bottom of that pages: "For technical reasons beyond our control, not all records made using the pad will be marked accordingly."
So the real amount might be a bit higher...

Kai, there currently are 15 drivers for whom it's not possible to determine if they are using pad or wheel:

debruge ch
b00715123 ch
janmate13 at
ANEL___ at
VWGTI1 nl
indydeem nl
TheeGermanator us
picbois ca
fitforit tw
Bto hk
Sgt-Guch au
r2d2qrwa pl
Highlander1089 us
PaldaCZ cz
kenskijen nz

This only happens if a driver has made it into the combined top 250, but appears in neither of the individual lap leaderboards. As you can see, it's pretty rare (in fact, there's no such case in Germany) and naturally only happens towards the bottom end of the leaderboards. 👍

Just nailed a solid lap with the tuned car, 1'35.741, almost at my limit in that now except losing around 0.075 in T1, up to 9th overall in GB.

Just had a long midnight run with the Tuned Car, it was very frustrating even dough I did improve to a 1'36.384 there where several times where I would improve sertain sectors with 0.100. But I could never get a complete lap, so now its time to sleep maybe try again tommorow.

Impressive times mate 👍 Looks like I gotta have another crack because I'm outside the top 20 in Australia.... again! :ouch: :lol:

Back in the Normal tonight after nearly a fortnight in the Tuned.... and having completely removed everything human or not from my schedule until Sunday morning:sly: ran for an hour.

Chopped 0.062 off to end up at a 1'48.209. Had a .1xx there but spun up out of Turn 11 (of course) and destroyed the lap. The big thing is just controlling your desire to throttle up too early........ it's a battle of mind vs foot!!

Total time now is at 3'24.181 for P18.

Less than 0.100 will see me move from P18 to P11... it's that close.

1:37:466 - rank 179
1:49:691 - rank 126

total 3:27:157 - rank 128

Another productive day, chasing Kaz's Normal Z ghost. I can actually beat him in some sectors, except the last one...
Switched to the Tuned Z for a few laps, and it feels really arcadey!!!

1:37:289 - rank 152
1:49:691 - rank 131

total 3:26:980 - rank 125

Haven't played in a few days, ranking slipped a lot, but I'm back up. Chased Kaz's Tuned ghost today and I'm so damn close to beating him!!
Switched to the no.1 guys ghost and can finally keep up with him in some areas. Finally managed to slash some time, but there was 1 attempt where I was 0.4 sec ahead of my PB, but stuffed a corner and spun out :(
So it looks like I can eventually get under 1:37 and beat Kaz :)

Learned a few tricks today, and now the Time Trial is not so bad. I even managed to beat the no. 1 guy through the first 3 turns on one run! I reduced Force Feedback to 2 on the DFGT, seems to work better

I think when this event is over, I'm gonna be done with TT's for a good...long...while.

Amen, Brother Carl!

Had a real short session tonight, 14 mins :lol: And went from a .906 to .842 in the normal. :)

My T3 was .08x and I had a .033 lastnight so there is at least .050 still to take. I Hope to get into low 23.5's before it's over. 👍

1'47.842 | 1'35.777 | 3'23.619

I'd say you're safe with that time. My prediction on 20th place time for the UK will be a 3'23.6xx though...?

I managed to shave about two seconds in the last two days with the tuned car. I'm currently sitting at 1.39.887. Haven't had that much time for the TT, so every time I start it up I have to get used to the new physics again.

I should really give the normal car a go, I'm sitting at a depressing 1.55 on it but I've only raced the normal 3 or 4 times.

I wonder if I will ever get down to the 1.35's on the tuned. I just can't seem to master T1 and it totally ruins me on T2 & 3. :(
