I'm hoping this doesn't start till around the end of May/beginning of June.

After 9 races, the top 7 drivers in the points standings will all be reset to 300 points, plus 3 bonus points for each victory notched in the first 10 points races.

Error in the OP there Drop 👍

So, for all the regulars that we have race in race out this season, there are three drivers (four if you include Furi) that are going to miss out on The Chase.

Starting to get very important for some with Indy just two weeks away :nervous:

Fixed. Also, see the edit above for the updated average finish stats. 👍

Just finished watching the NNS race from thus weekend. Made up for KBM and family.

Awesome drive by Denny. Had to be the #18 running them down :D

6-7 points is a reasonable gap, I'm going to have to drive like hell to make the chase by the looks of the guys around me :nervous:

Yup, my Boss is right behind you. Don't go looking over your shoulder. You can't afford a crash.

I probably should have got someone to race for me at Indy, could have done with the points....

You've also got RFLX creeping up behind you after his 2-week hiatus. However, one really good week could make a big difference. On the bright side, you're averaging 11 points per start, which would be good enough for 7th place right now, had you not missed a race.

2/3 of Furi's points for that day would have been an extra 9 points.

I really could do with a top 5; best chance of this would be at Indy or SSRX. So yeah, 9 points would have been really useful at this point, bad decision 👎

Think of it like this; the top 7 drivers in points are guaranteed to make the Chase. If you finished 7th every week, you would get 10 points per week. So far, you're averaging 11 points per finish. You are just slightly above the required pace.

You've also done a great job with something Homeslice was the absolute best at doing, snagging bonus points efficiently. You've managed to lead a single lap in two of your three starts so far, snagging an extra two bonus points with only 2 total laps led. After three races last season, Homeslice had three bonus points from 4 total laps.

It doesn't seem so bad when you put it that way, hopefully I can keep finishing mid-table and picking up bonus points to stay in with a chance of making the chase.

Plus, you must feel you've proven yourself and dine enough to secure a guaranteed seat for next season.

For any rookie, that must have been a goal.

Same goes for Red and Mule.

Think about how much different this season would look had Furinkazen taken ownership at Red Bull, as I think most expected he would when it was his turn to draft. Would Mule even have a seat right now?

I never had considered team ownership, knowing I could only do a partial schedule.

Since I'm kinda scared of the All-Star race qualifying format, are there position penalties for wreckers in them? :nervous:

Hey droptop can u lay out the complete all-start race day format once again? I may not be able to attend. Kinda pressed for time this Saturday. I gotta be done gamin' at 430 or possibly earlier. I probably can still race the quali race but I need the full itinerary

It's on the OP I think.

What car can i run Sat.?

Long time no see :). Reckon your car from last year might be the best option.

I see it on track and still think it's you, both behind the wheel, and behind me :sly:

In a non-points race, you can almost expect that some accidents are going to happen. We can review any incidents, but anything that is non-intentional is likely to be deemed a racing incident.

The key thing to remember in the NW race (race 1) and the Open race (race 2) is that you don't have to win to get to the next race. The top EIGHT drivers all advance out of the first race, while the top FOUR finishers all advance out of the second race.

No one should be causing wrecks trying to win a preliminary race. There is no prize for winning either of the first two races. The entire goal of the night is only victory in the final race. All you need to do is get there. The winner of the All-Star race could easily be the car that finishes 8th in the NW race, and 4th in the Open race.

Correct, the entire schedule is here (under the red text):

Check this new format out..........

That format is great! To me, the standards have been set for the truly great drivers:

Page 4 of 7, Sprint Cup stats:

Win%: Above 20% - RFLX (30%!), Joe, ACDC
Top 3%: Above 60% - ACDC (nearly 70%), Joe, RFLX
Top 5%: Above 75% - Homeslice (94%!), RFLX, ACDC, Joe
Top 10%: 100% - RFLX, ACDC, Homeslice
Laps Led: Above 200 laps - Drop, RFLX, Knelly, ACDC (Joe will soon join this list)

Ken, if it wouldn't be too much trouble, could you make a races led rate stat, where it shows the percentages of races you led vs started? Should just be (# races led/# of starts). I would like to see how the rate stats look before judging what would qualify as a very high rate. My first guess is that ACDC and Homeslice come out very high in this stat.

Yea droptop I can add that stat, wouldn't be any trouble. And so far it looks like I can race the quali race on Saturday but so far as of now it doesn't look like I'll be able to do the main event if I can race my way in. What should I do? Should I not waste a spot in the quali race if I'm certain I can't race the main event?
