Oh. I need sleep, so tired... Fine the fixed version:

Four Tiers: 3 votes
Five Stars: 0 votes

I voted between his and your post. And I think one or two more votes for four should be the majority here.

My vote is for the four tiers with the stipulation that there is a strict limit on T1 and 2 series.

And with mine won't that make it the majority for those who have been participating in this discussion?

Yeah, that should be a majority. And what if only we can begin the top tier series, so it doesn't become congested? Seeing as there are only so many top tier racers, we could just have a poll thread and then one of us could just make the thread for said series and let one of the racers run it, as it would normally? I could handle running the poll, if needed 👍.

Lol R1600...

I was thinking that the T1 series would wait to be formed until we got this thing together and could determine the top 8-16 drivers, and what they would be driving in said series.
T2 would be a slight step up from the regular series, ie for serious races with big(ger) prizes
T3 - Race for fun, learn the basics, nothing major
T4 - Random events like that two speed traffic thing I keep seeing, or events for BSing about

We probably wouldn't sponsor speed limit/traffic rooms, just racing would probably be better.

Have we decided what makes a top Tier series? Maybe one that has real sponsors. (like mine) :sly:

What would that be?

EDIT:

Nevermind, I see what they are. Did you have to get a license to use them? As I hear stuff needs licensing and blah blah blah, or did you just stick them in there?

I asked. ;)

Most said "Sure, no problem". Alpine Stars was a bit more technical, but they eventually said OK and even supplied an updated version of their logo. 👍

There are also a bunch I never hear back from, like Mazda and Mazdaspeed.

I might try again shortly.

Just make sure to ask nicely and reiterate that it's for a video game series and you are not asking for anything but permission to use their logo.

Okay, since we already have a majority vote on the tiers, should we just move on? We can get some done before gatrs checks the thread.

Haha no none of that kinda stuff.
Real racing all the way.

And yes.
Penalty system.
What do we think?
Should we go with that three strike thing we were talking about before?

Next up is a penalty system for bad players. Now normally in a real series (As far as I know) it's a time penalty once the race is done. Now this can't be done due to drivers that usually don't finish in say an endurance race, or any long race at that. Another may be an in race penalty where the bad driver must park there car in a designated area on the track and wait until said time has been reached. Any other suggestions?

I think we should limit it to three levels of punishment, as stated earlier to make it easier for me to quickly deal with complaints.

Unintentional, smaller scale accident - Pass through penalty.

Unintentional, large scale incident - Points deduction (my discretion based on the points system in the series. I will probably ask a judge's opinion as a second opinion unless I'm comfortable with my decision).

Anything intentional - Race suspension (the number of races would be up to mine and the panel of judges' discretion).

I don't think there should be anything worse than let unless we get major repeat offenders. Sound good?

I don't think unintentional incidents are penalty worthy, honestly. It was an accident, just let the drivers talk it out.

Okay, very fair. So for the points deduction, maybe it could just be if you caused an accident that hindered 4 or more cars? We would need at least two tiers of penalties.

My thought on the unintentional thing barring major incidents, is that the affected driver(s) can choose to not "press charges" being a pass through, or not being allowed to qualify next race
Otherwise I would say probation for first offense, minor suspension for second, dismissal for third (Major incidents) and skip probation for intentional.

I'll do whatever, just keep in mind that these will be largely judgement calls on my part, so I think JLawrence's three step system will work a lot better, except dismissal should probably be replaced by suspension. Is that okay with everyone? We need gatrs to edit the OP..

Sounds good to me. I was thinking suspension too, rather then dismissal. But isn't dismissal like being expelled? That would have to be one major (intentional) incident to be banned.

I'm thinking if you have gotten to the third strike and get a fourth, you get booted from that series. If its okay, can I keep up with my disciplinary records in a thread instead of in the database with everything else for easier access? Although I should probably be asking gatrs this .

Your own thread? That could be a good idea. But rather have it in a social group. That would be a great place to store information and such. Someone mentioned using a social group before...

I'm not familiar with how to do that. Gatrs would start that sort of thing. And I was already planning on having a discipline thread as I just stated and a public notice thread since gatrs said I could handle the public affairs. I wish he would come and we could get this done and start..

For an entire series, I think the third penalty should be a suspension and the fourth a dismissal. We can't be kicking people out left and right.

Then what are the 1st and 2nd? 1st is obviously a warning. But what is the second? Did you already mention this? I need to read closely.

We need a subforum.

OK, I'm back. :D

I think penalties should be completely up to the judges.
They will take into account past issues and incidents as well as how experienced they are.
If they believe it's unintentional, a penalty will still be made, except slightly smaller.
I like that idea of the other driver that got "the short end of the stick" if you may, could choose to not press charges, but a record of the incident will still be kept.

I'm not TOTALLY sure about an entire other thread for documenting and recording these incidents.
If we eventually get a sub forum, that may be a possibility.
But for now, I think it should be a GoogleDoc.
That's just IMO though.

Once we get started I thought we should ask Jordan for a prefix in the Racing Series forum, for some of our official threads like my Discipline and Public Notices ideas, not a subforum for awhile.

And the easiest thing for me to enforce would be:

1. Warning
2. Points Deduction
3. Race Suspension
4. Dismissal from Series

So I hope gatrs approves that.

Ahhhh, he's back! :D
