Looks like I'm going to miss the race tonight. Stuck waiting at the emergency room.

Hey guys so I have to ask does anyone have a tune for the GT350 r or the Camaro or BMW. I would like to have all three tunes so I can figure which is better

I have all three.
The GT350 is really hard to keep competitive, but it is possible. The BMW is quite possibly the fastest of all 440 cars provided you tune it right. We're in my lounge now if you'd like to hop in.

Another 50 minutes or so.

And upon testing at Monza and having the muscle cars raped on the straights where they should have the advantage I'm thinking of doing some more testing with them specifically to see if they are more competitive at a different level. I hate to go back and switch anything up this late, but there is no way in hell an Apline 110 should pull a Shelby in a straight line.

EDIT: After some more testing, the GT350 becomes quite competitive when it is allowed the extra 20Pp (1200kg/305hp). It is still slow in the corners, but now can make up for it on the straights like it should. As does the SS Camaro.

I like the 460pp limits on RH tires we tested today. (I arived late) It opens the door for a wider variety of cars without choking the American V8 cars via power limiter.

I agree with Skelletor I ran the Jag at 450pp on RH and with little tunning the car was only 3 seconds off the pace. I think 460 really opens the door and makes car competitive.

Were you running 460?
I still had mine at 440Pp

I ran the Camaro and the 350 at 460pp the Jag was ran by me from 440-450pp, with 450pp being a much smoother ride with some tail happy oversteer. The BMW was run at 440pp and was just too slow, but moved great on the track. Where ever I placed it, the car would go, so I change up the setting a bit and it became too much and once again I was plague by oversteer.

I have run the BMW faster than the fastest Stratos, and on par with AgroRacer in his God awful fast Nissan. I think if you want to run that car you need to just spend a little time on setting it up right. The Jag is also 100% equal to the Stratos and Nissan at 440 if you take the time to get it built right. The only cars that are going to be allowed the extra performance points are the muscle cars that can't hang in the corners due to their weight, and can only make it up on the straights.

Raising the pp for the Standard Muscle Cars looks like a good idea for their drivability but I hope this won't allow them to run away from the lower displacement sports cars - even on the shorter technical tracks. Maybe tire wear and lower cornering speeds will even things out? Of course the muscle cars should be able to pull on the straights to make things more realistic.

The Alfa's and Europa are at a power disadvantage to start-maybe they could have raised pp too? Of course no one has shown much interest in them anyway.

Thanks J for working so hard to get a realistic setting for the series. Since we have so much time before the season starts, I'd be willing to run some longer sprints with the muscle cars vs. the 4/6 cyl's.

I'm not that well versed on car classes at real life Vintage Events, but do these car classes compete together?

They do indeed. Here is a link to the group I run with and the classifications for any given car. Generally we run as Group 1/9, Groups 3/4/6/8, then 2/5/7 if that gives you any idea as to what is on track together. There are also the Sunday Enduros though, that are open to any car that is in the paddock. I remember one event several years ago when I was crewing for my dad that on the track at the same time were three Can-Am cars, a Ford GT-40, and a Model A (aside from all of the Alfa Romeo GTA's, MGs, Porsches, and everything else).

I'm hoping to not have to get too technical with any of these cars in finding the good balance with them, but I think you have a point, I may need to reassess the Alfa's and maybe one or two others that are at a real disadvantage at this level.

Thanks Ken, great old photos!

Looks like the early years were pretty diverse.

Thanks guys. Just didn't remember them mixing it up from a Vintage Event I went to @VIR a few years back.

I just spent a few hours racing a 450PP room knline with some clean racers on SS tires and my little Stratos dusted everyone on several occasions. I'm so proud of this low tuned little car!!

I wish I could figure the tune out for this car. And advise?

I'm still in NYC, so I'm obviously unavailable to host, but id like to set something up this next week, or weekend for those interested. Also, in case you hvent checked the OP I have the official date set for race one

Nope. Next is the first race of the sedason after the long weekend

Lower the front alot more than the rear, increase the spring rates more on the rear. If you want look at our Vintage Tuning garage and use my tune for the street car. Ncrthree used it last week in the race and kept up with you quite well Agro.

Been looking for something like that since we started the test runs. How about I add my Z tune after season one!

Im sure it would be well recieved and we would certainly credit you for the tune. I've been debating whether or not to tune this car with a 440PP tune or with a full hp PP tune.
