GTP Rolex | Season 5 | Complete! Help Plan!

I'll take that spot then. Just gotta tweak the ACR for the aero (didn't realize it was required)

edit: anyone on gt5 now that minds practicing with me for a bit?

Also, does anyone add extra performance parts then detune? I've tuned with no power upgrades, only weight, ballast, and the trans, drivetrain, and suspension of course. I'm just wondering because of the way the engine power limiter doesn't affect torque as much as hp

Yeah, we all fully upgrade the cars, then detune them.

Ah, ok. I'll just go with what I have and maintain the last position in GT class if it's that much of a difference

Do I need to add you far qualifying and racing?

Are we at monza now or?

Nope, Suzuka.

If you could open the room, that would be great. I'm going to be running a couple of minutes late, I'm at the store now.

And yeah, add me. Ill accept it when I get home

There's no way I'd be able to compete with you guys. I could barely control my car online. No way I'd be able to get close to the 2:05/6's that were up in practice

Dude, it would help if you weren't on Sports Mediums..... Also, make that 2:04's and 2:03's for me, 2:05-2:06 are my Racing Hard times...

Guys, I'll be back in. I rejigged my router so hopefully I don't DC again...

Like storm said, we use racing mediums :)

Race is starting now, so I would give Monza a go for sure!

OMG... I thought you were using Sports tires. What's the most readily available, while still a massively great amount of facepalm one can get?

Lol! It happens to the best of us!!

And sorry guys, I'm just too tired after an hour of 100% track water at Suzuka with no abs... Long last two days didn't help.

Was really fun with the battles! Hopefully Monza will be as good!

Edit: just in time... "Nature" is calling BIG time, and she's on line two!

You know that practice was the first time I've tried no ABS, and the only problem is since I use a DS3 I automatically start braking at or close to max pressure, then I can ease off. I use "X" and "[]" so there's what 3mm of space to play with, and I can maintain at or roughly within 3-5mph of whatever speed usually.

I'm gonna start throwing $10-20 away (storage) per check in order to get a wheel once I get GT6. That damn game has almost shut down the GT5 section of GTP.

The G27 was a godsend for that race. I could feel the brakes locking before full-lock-up, and I was able to straighten the car out much more easily...

Of course, the game gives no grip in rain, it's almost like snow... :scared: DS3 guys, I don't know how you do it with no ABS and such. :scared:

Good race guys.

Edit: I had to pee the moment the race started. I'm going to go pee now.

I imagine the winning time was closer to 2 hours, I quit 10 minutes before halfway at 50 mins in or so. Did it ever dry up? I'm sorry about that....but I just couldn't keep going like that, my back was starting to ache (as it does in long online races.) If I know I have a shot at a good finish than I go for it but I was beating no one and I couldn't get out of my own way. The car reacted negatively to every input, I just needed to go like twice the limited slip to make it work.

PD really needs to work on their weather....:( I had weather change set on 4, nothing astronomical or anything like that. It almost seemed like it was simulating a tropical storm or something. That combined with the rain tires not creating any kind of dry line makes for a rough time even for 4 wheel drive users.

I know what you mean. IRL I've noticed from 0-about 60/65mph you can achieve roughly the same speeds on a normal worn-out road/ highway with sports tires.

Now, I did own a 2004 Mustang GT with intake/ exhaust, 4.10 gears, rear seat delete, etc (a lot of average Mustang work) and possibly a tune from before I bought it. It had 315/35-17 Nitto drag radials, and anything over 50mph (even in 5th gear) if there was any rain and you hit the gas the car would go sideways (talk about scar, especially at night!) so the GT5 rain model really isn't too bad.

I would really like to apologize for the long race. Really didn't mean for it to be pushing 2 hours.

We may knock a couple laps off the other rain races... Because 2 hours is pretty crazy...

My back hurts!

:D oh, the pains of victory, and not enough vodka. Darn.

2 hours is a bit long, yeah.

I just wish the Audi had the Ferrari's front downforce. Every racing driver I've ever talked to knows that downforce is a big help in the rain.

The "dry line" Rich S. Is talking about only happens if the rain stops. It never did stop. It started out sunny, with 95% moisture on track, then 100% quickly followed.

I just really wish I knew why GT5 put me on Mediums for a 95% wet track. If I hadn't started 20 seconds down, I could only think of how rough it would've been for the rest of the drivers.

That was the thing.. It never stopped! It was 100% the whole race xD

I was hoping it would dry out just for the pit stop game to start!

There was a pitstop game.

Lap 10/11 (can't remember) 5 litres under caution, then lap 28 for 5 more liters and fresh rain tires. Then lap 31 was my fastest lap, even though lap 27 was my slowest open-air lap... Well, I did get bobbled by the DP car.

I want some dry-wet stuff!

I hope Spa starts dry, goes to 50% water, then dries out.

I proved today, it's easy to drive through 50% water on Racing Medium tires.

That only cost me about 10 seconds per lap. Pitting, though, is 1 minute... Oops. That's 6 laps of dry tires. If it clears up after 2 laps, it's better to not pit at all.

I think I held out pretty well for a while. I thought that the Audi would have been about to go below 2:20 given how easy driving around Spa and La Sarthe was in the Wet in previous seasons; was some 7-10 seconds ahead of the next best wet-running car at each. However, I found out that the Audi, probably my setup on it more than anything, I practiced with after the race meant it understeers so badly.

Mel doing rallycross in an AWD car probably helped him pull away from me and set that high 2:20, while I lingered on 2:23.2, because I noticed when he was trying to drive how I was trying to drive in the Ferrari, the front was going away from him. Although, Mel, you do realise the Fezza and the Audi both have exactly the same DF setting with a GT wing, right?

Yeah, it does.

Oh guys, I'm not going to be racing next weekend as I'm all the way over in Poland for my friend's wedding. Looks like I'll miss.... *checks*.... AH YOU'RE KIDDING ME!?!?! I miss Monza!?

Mind you, whether it be Spa or Monza, I was likely to be super ticked off. I want a really good result from Polar, although for this track I'm seriously hoping that Rich can find a good setup to take advantage of that massive top speed. To be honest, all the cars are pretty even through the tighter chicanes, but Ascari and Parabolica is where the other cars might gain ground on the Corvette here.

Fingers crossed that it stays dry. Try changeability at 8, then set the race to 50%.

Well, polar, with Storm missing a round, one of the strong contenders is missing.

Of course, I'm going to rally in the rain, no matter which definition you use, but if it stays dry I bet you'll win. If there was a Rolex race with snow, though... :D
