Even though I finished 2nd I wouldn't mind repeating this round... It isn't fun when there are only 3 guys per class passing the finish line...
EDIT: Also another weird bug... after I confirmed tyres and fuel (no fuel need actually), the game held me in the pits for 30+ seconds before pit crew started changing my tyres... was ahead ~35 seconds ahead of tex before I stop and came out ~37 seconds behind him...

Guys were you DC'ing in a traditional gran turismo way or freezing? Because my PS3 simply froze solid while racing lap 30, had to turn it off. Weirdest thing I've seen so far. Anyways, I had the race in the bag firmly, even though my second tire set had 1 sec/lap less grip. I say drop it and do over, nobody was left.

Yeah, I think its a new glitch with 1.04, when I race Red Bulls with leyba08 I can stay in his room for over 3 hours at a time without problems so the issue may be a perfect storm of issues, maybe get someone else to try hosting. Either that or we may have to stop altogether and wait to see if the game improves, if it doesn't I know I wont be buying GT7. Even crappy cheap games can get the online connections in good shape.

I honestly think we need to agree on another time and do another race at Daytona and see if that'll give us better luck with disconnects.
If PD is this crappy, I don't know if it's worth racing. That's nothing against anyone here or the series itself. I love racing with you guys and the driving standard is excellent. PD needs to take its thumb out of its ass and turn the hentai off so they can actually make a stable server system for GT.

So there is really no right thing to do now. I used a friends only room at Daytona the first preseason race, but a public room for silverstone. So I don't think it's that, but it could be.
Thing is people kept on disconnecting and freezing after I disconnected. I think there's a thread about freezing which isn't good. And people were saying that all these different cars were being shown for other people.
So this is a mess, and all we can do is hope they fix it sooner rather than later.
There's two things we can do here. We can scrap this race and redo it next weekend. Or we can count this race and add a drop round.

I wouldnt mind doing the round over also. Maybe we set it to a public room instead of friends only? Only thing we can do is replicate what we did in pre season. I cant remember what we did in the first pre season race, but the second one we used the in game qualifier to start things off. From what I can remember, the second race was the most stable race we had so far.
I think we had plenty of time tonight to do a short race. Maybe a 3-5 lapper? Just to see if there are any bugs. Hold off the qualifying until 6:30? This is so we can hopefully have everything ironed out before actual race time. I think we started 20-30 minutes late tonight and it probably got some off of their "groove".
On the plus side for GT class. The competition is as fierce as ever this season.

I think the qualifying isn't bugged anymore, at least it wasn't in any of the public rooms I've raced on. We can try replicating the Silverstone lobby, it was pretty stable, except for the occasional lagger here and there.

I think I hosted last season most of the time. I should be able to get the room up early again this weekend, so we can feel the waters out for a little.
What makes me angry is that we're still having this problem. It's been a problem in every single season to date. You would think they could figure this out by now.
The qualifying wasn't the problem. The problem was that people left/froze or whatever mid qualifying and they could not rejoin.

I think that's still waaaay far off. I think a new track will be coming out soon though. The one that goes around the lake and longer than nurburgring.

I find that posting complaints & or fustration on youtube videos is very helpful for solving issues. Although they can remove comments or ban comments if they want, I dont believe the official GT page bans comments, so we could likely go on there and try for a response.

Ran in a race tonight. This one lasted almost an hour and a half and we had no issues. We did use the in game qualifier with everyone qualifying at the same time. I should have gone and checked the room specs. It never crossed my mind.
My best guess is to try a different host. Here is my speed test result. This is with 8 devices on the network and no..DMZ I think they call it. Kind of ashamed with my results. My friend has fios and is literally twice as fast and he has the basic package. From what comcast offers, I have the second from the best available.

I'll open the room early again this week and if we have issues we can always switch. My internet isn't terrible, 10 mb/s down and ~2 up.
