Before you two out-polite each other , it's important to remember that rooms of 16 often come with connection difficulties which may require splitting into two rooms anyway.
We can't know in advance if that will be necessary though, so it will be a race-time call.

When we know for sure how many drivers we have, and how many rooms we will be using we can split the drivers up from there if necessary.

Sorry I missed the qualifying gents. I ended up going out last night, had a few drinks and totally forgot about it. I would still like to race tonight I think if (I'm not going out) but if its touch and go on numbers I don't mind being dropped. I will be able to confirm if I'm available in about an hour (or so). My apologies for messing you about, particularly it being my first GTP event.

As we get closer to the event time we will post the room(s) and let all drivers know where they should go for their race.
We will all meet for pre-race practice in the 3D3 Racing lounge (main) and then split from there when the time comes.

Make sure to change oil on both cars, before joining the lounge. We'd rather people don't ask to leave between the races, unless it's to fix connection issues.

UPDATE: The admins have discussed it and we are going with a rolling start for the 2nd race of world tour stop 1 (Ford GT @ IRC). OP has been updated.

It's not very hard to pass in this combo and there are plenty of laps for the fastest to get from back to front so we've decided the most important thing is a clean turn 1 given it's a reverse grid. Also if there are any issues with a driver disconnecting between races or having to leave temporarily for an invisible issue etc, the formation lap will allow us to fix the order regardless of where the system puts us on the grid.

This is "old style" 3D3 rolling starts, single file (not staggered), leader accelerates at the start/finish line and all other drivers accelerate when the driver in front does... there is NO passing before the start/finish line. The leader of the formation lap will be the last place finisher from race 1. If they are not comfortable with the role an admin can lead the lap and drop back into position before the start/finish line... we will discuss in the thread once the results from race #1 are known.

NOTES:

If a driver DC's from the first race, he is welcome to join again for the 2nd race. The DC will be considered a "blown engine" and thus they will start at the front for the 2nd race and be awarded points for the first race.

If a driver doesn't start the first race (late or no show) that driver will NOT be allowed to race in the 2nd race. They will however be allowed to participate in stop #2 next week.

We will have a 15 minute break between races where drivers can warm up on the 2nd combo or just take a break from driving. As Lucas said you are expected to stay in the lounge so come to the lounge with both cars having fresh oil.

We'll assemble there until around 14-16 people, and make the split/no-split decision based on what happens/who shows up.
