GTP WRS-Online : Special X - (Al)berto's Monza Adventure - Dec 2

I think we should require pits otherwise our "formula" for making the leaders of each class come together on the last lap might get messed up.

Of course, my math skills were a bit off yesterday during the practice race so who knows if I did that right either. :dunce:

That was kinda funny yesterday. After you said that, I went into math mode and was sure we were ok, but started doubting my own math  I never doubt the Math - even with no fuel strategy my on the fly math left me with a sliver before the red showed up on the last lap :D

Must have been 'the hangover effect' - from 3(?) beers??? - softy..:sly:

Ya, adding a mandatory pit stop between 20 mins and 40 or something will suffice.

Can't say for sure, but power was down quite a bit towards the end.
My speed across the s/f line was almost 15 kph slower (Zonda) in the final laps and times were off by over 1.5 seconds.
Because we didn't finish the full 85 laps though the HP did not drop after we exited so we don't know how much it dropped - not that it's something anyone can control.

Edit: someone needs to remind me to up my trans top speed :dunce: I forgot before yesterdays race and kept topping out in long drafts :( Not badly, but it really throws me off when it tops out and I almost always blow the brake point when it happens - not good for turn 1 :nervous:

Did the car start losing more fuel after 1.5 hours, in yesterdays practice ?

All I can say is that I went 28 laps before almost running out of fuel in the first stint. When I tried with much effort to save fuel in the last stint I was only able to reach 29 laps, just enough to finish without a splash and dash pitstop.

I am having connection issues

That was FUN!!!!

Good race guys, good win ren. after having that coming together with jtv in lap 2 I just started making too many mistakes trying to catch up, especially in the draft which has a huge effect on braking distance, was surprised I still finished on the podium with all the mistakes I made. Hopefully I can make it for the NA event if I dont sleep. :)

The setup I used for comparison

RH -15/-15
Spring Rate 13.9/15.3
Dampers(E) 5/7
Dampers (C) 5/7
ARB 6/6
Camber 2.0/1.0
Toe Angle 0.10/-0.10

LSD 8/20/10

Brakes 5/5

Gears

Final to 5.350
Max Speed 200 km/h (min)

3.242
2.500
1.999
1.636
1.390 1.376
1.206 1.175

Final 3.273

Giving a top speed of 322km/h you hit the limiter for a hot sec but you should probably brake when you do otherwise you'll go straight into the wall in turn one like I did, twice :ouch:

I did consistent mid to low 47s in practice and 46s in the last stint after my stop, just couldn't replicate it in the race :nervous:

EDIT: Posted qualifying tune instead, Ive made the changes in red

Hey guys, dunno if some of you saved the replay. For those who did it, check the 25th lap of me and Mohit... I just want to say "Impressive Snake" (from Metal Gear Solid VR Missions)

Could someone make and post a video of Mark's pole-qualifying lap in the Ferrari, please?

Cant do Marks but I can post my replay here its PAL, I did a lap 2 tenths slower than Mark

I have the replay, but it's PAL, and I have no DVR. I can make a bad one...

Fun race - surprised to get that win. Fun battle with Jon in the second stint, who is always a pleasure to race with

I unregister myself for the NA supportrace. I'am to tired and have to go back working in 7hours. See you guys tomorrow for the race.

I would need either a NTSC replay or a video of Mark's and/or Manu's lap. But if a PAL replay is posted, maybe someone else could make a video of it. Thanks!

Lounge is open for pre-race pratice... already 4-5 guys in it.

Here's my replay. Just a few notes, Im using 5/5 brake bias for turn one and the first chicane, then im quickly changing it to 3/5 for the lesmos and the ascari chicane and then back to 5/5 for the parabolica corner.

Not the best quality but will have to do

I'm in for the race, just can't update on my phone.

Had fun in the first support race...thanks to Tim for an amazing job getting me setup with an obutto rig and T500 wheel! Besides the better wheel and pedals (vs DFGT), I especially liked the way the bumps and rumbles on the track would shake the wheel unit hard enough to rattle the obutto frame, which means my backside sensors came into play. :)

Too many mistakes kept me out of it, although I thought I had a chance at catching Marc and Tim battling about 2sec ahead in the latter half of the 2nd stint. Then I lost it.

And sorry Kev for being confusing and backing down at the last second in Ascari, didn't mean to make you fly off like that. :(

Good luck tomorrow guys. .👍 At least I felt good getting to run the full 2.4hr practice race Friday afternoon. 👍

Well, I apologize for the 2nd chicane mess with the Zonda start. Tim, I'm glad you didn't receive any damage and were able to continue on. Luckily I didn't make contact with anyone else in the process. Entering a chicane with drafting was my main concern going into the race and it was definitely what got me there. I felt like I braked too late and had too much closing speed on Wes and decided to tap the e-brake for a little extra braking force. It's something I will do occasionally if I feel I'm entering a corner too hot and seems to help reduce speed at a quicker rate than just braking. Well, I usually will give it 2-3 quick pulse taps and have no issues but I must've held it too long because I lost the back end and went into a slide passing Wes and smashing the front end of Tim.:dunce: Immediately after the race I went into replay to learn from it and my wife couldn't stop laughing at me and made me watch over and over again from mine, Tim's, Wes's perspective with different views.:guilty: Once again I apologize and am glad no one else was caught up in my stupidity.

Thankfully I figured out my braking points under draft after that and ran a decent race for my level of practice. I was happy how things went after that and feel much better about my readiness going into tomorrow.

Edit: that was a quick spam edit. Was that you Lucas?

No problem by me Scott. It was a support race and a great place to work out the kinks. :sly: Not sure how I didn't end up with some damage, but if I had... luckily we use light damage and it would have gone away quickly.

That kind of thing is exactly why I always lobby for light damage our races. In a 2.4 hour race having major damage in turn 2 of lap 1 would pretty much be end of story. And it's very easy to make a mistake like that... none of us are professionals and even the pros screw up. Given this is a game and we play for fun I don't need the heavy damage dose of reality to make it more real.

I'm pretty bummed I ran out of fuel with only one turn to go from an entire race in the lead. :grumpy:
Went with the recommended 1L of fuel during the pit. Damn you GT5!

Remember the game will take your fuel consumption on the formation lap in to consideration as well when it is working out your recommended fuel load. :D
