GTP_PSN ID for GT5 Registry & WRS

I just tried gifting a car (Lambo Countach) to another (level 0) never played GT5 account and I need a free gift car ticket to receive it.

Anyone remember what was required to get the first free gift car ticket?

I was looking in the Car Delivery and nothing was showing up because it was in Gifts under Community.
I now have the car.
I gifted an Isuzu 400 which is a level 6 car and drove it in GT mode practice.
I also tried the Calsonic GT-R in arcade without any problems, but like FoollKiller said, no Nurburgring Nordschleife or TG test track.

I bought the CE and I want to add the GTP to my account. If I create a new account, and I decided to start the game from scratch? Couldnt I just redownload the cars I got from PD or do I have to gift them to my new account?

No need to gift them,your coded cars are free and will show up in any account you start GT5.

Please be sure to warn users that the gift feature is not (yet) stable. The other day I lended a truck from a willing GTP member in order to complete the second A-spec series of races. I gifted it back to him as discussed earlier, it disappeared from my garage but it never arrived with him :(
 
I'm new to the whole concept of the WRS but having had a read through here it's something I'm really interested in participating in 👍.

Looks like I'll make it easier on myself in the long-term if I go create a GTP_tag ID now rather than potentially risk losing gift cars. Bit of a wrench as I'm level 16 now (not huge I know, but still representative of a fair few hours work). To rub salt in the wound I only got gold on the Top Gear Elise's last night, NOT looking forward to doing that one again lol! That said, with the benefit of experience I'm sure I'll find it alot easier second time around.

Thus needs to be moved to the Online Racing sub forum of GT5. If you think about it, you'll understand why. The focus here is GT5. Not iRacing, rFactor, LFS, or some other online racing that does bot have a specific forum.
 
all I've done is gold the license tests and some of the special events so I haven't had too much time to fully explore but it seems that having a second GTP_ psn account may be quite troublesome due to unlocking tracks.
I noticed nordshleife gets unlocked in the intermediate AMG academy... which you can't exactly do at level 2 like the easy-as-pie vw bus race to open up the top gear track.
are there any other tracks that are high-level unlockables?

PD could make this infinitely easier for us by adding the ability to name your self something different than your PSN name (which is almost never 100% representative of what the player really wants to be called).

We're getting a patch at some point this month and I know the stability of gifting has been identified at least, so hopefully it'll be sorted. Given Christmas is coming, I doubt it'll be that long before the patch is out.

Personally, I'd let the qualifier run and start the WRS in the new year, 2nd week of Jan or something.
 
How long does it take until you can to the AMG intermediate. Anyways I don't think there will be a TT on the nordschleife for a long time.

when you're in replay theater you can "export" them to a file on the HDD.
then just copy it to a USB stick in the XMB.
pretty obvious how to get it online after that.

Thank god we don't have to deal with gameshark/action replay crap anymore. 👍

Similar experience here -- word of caution to everyone trading high-end / valuable cars! It seemed like the occasional network-hiccups that throw connection errors while taking a while to load when switching between menus. I was sending a car, I got a connection error message, and then the car was deleted from my garage. My friend never got the car back. 👎

The coding must be programmed to delete the car during the "gift" operation without first confirming a successful upload. Hopefully PD will hear about this and will update with the next patch. 💡

One thing that maybe due to this is not checking that both parties are connected to the server at the time of transferring, I’ve noticed that and I'm sure you have too, you get disconnected from the server from time to time, which could be due to low traffic on your behalf.

So before making any gift I would check to see if both are connected then try the gift transfer.

You have a good point about getting exposure for this in the GT5 Forums. I moved the thread over to the main GT5 forum, and then to the GT5Online Racing Forum, and created expiring redirects and stickied them.

The thread belongs here. This is not an iRacing, rFactor, or LFS Forum. This is for the WRS, which has run here on GT for nearly 8 years, and will be starting on its 4th platform of GT soon.
 
I opened an account on PSN the day I start playing with: The nametag is Nurburgring.

The day I registered to the GTPlanet WRS, I opened a second account called GTP_NURBURGRING.

What should I do know in order to comply with the situation we have now ?
 
Hello guys im new here and my psn is the same as my screen name, great commmunity here, and this is my first racing sim game btw.
 
It looks like I finally have something to do over the summer holidays, can't wait for the GT5 qualifier.
 
If you're going to share cars with yourself or friends, do it from the Gift function in "Community" and not from the Garage.

I think there's an additional "sacrifice" to be had for using our GTP tags for online racing. Even if you gift cars from your main account to your GTP account, when you accept them (that's IF you can accept them, I'm not sure) you'll need to level up your GTP account in order to drive them. If you could just gift the cars to your GTP account that would be superb, but you also need to meet a certain A-Spec level requirement in order to even drive most of them. So, if you're like me, since I'm using my main account for my main playthrough, we're pretty much going to have to level up twice in order to race online with our GTP tags.

Can anyone confirm or deny? Can you accept and receive a gift car that is higher than your current A-Spec level?

I gifted a level 12 Ferrari 430 '06 to my A-Spec level 0 account and accepted it.

The car could be used online,arcade and in practice.

It seems so far the only problem is not having said tracks.
I bet the OLR Admin, can get by without said tracks.

Cheers to everyone!!! :cheers: It's been a while since I've submitted a time for WRS, and it's great to see some familiar names. I'm excited about the chance to actually start a new series, and can't wait to see the new qualifier. I'm expecting to maintain my div2 status, but you never know! :scared: So here's a shout out to anyone who may remember me :cheers: and here's to all those I haven't yet met but hope to soon on the track :):cheers: As someone already posted, I also feel a sense of achievement having a GTP_ tag and feel a kinship to those who do. I also trust that this great team of mods will continue to deliver a splendid venue for weekly racing and want to thank them in advance for all the work they do behind the scenes. GREAT JOB!!! :gtpflag:
