I'll post it here since I didn't get my answer other ways:

Rule 1
I:
Aggressive driving is strictly prohibited.

J:
Cutting the chicanes or "shorting" the track at any point is strictly prohibited on all parts of the track, including the asphalt-areas in behind out-of track-lines. Track specific boundaries will be clarified in the Race Specifics section of any given event.

Is aggressive driving just things like dive bombing and violent defending. I was wondering if positioning your vehicle as though to overtake but not to overtake while in extremely close battles (to let the driver in front know you're there, keep them on their toes and unsettle their rhythm a little bit) is considered aggressive as it is used often in real racing and is a legitimate technique that doesn't normally pose a risk of contact unless there is some sort of fatal driver error.
And rule 1 J, as long as you have 2 wheels on the track unless otherwise specified by race rules of the specific event it's OK right?

I also wanted to know, shall I need to re-register on the GTP Registry with the new username?

01: OLR General Rules:
Are just that. They are intended as a general overview to the more specific rules listed below them. The rule you mention is generally intended to address dive bombing, barge passing, or other rude tactics that may or may not be specified in the rules. In other words, show some courtesy. Making a driver sweat a little bit by driving in their "personal space", without contact, would not generally be against the rules. Ultimately, we are asking for everyone to use some common sense. But unfortunately (And this is directed at no one in particular), common sense is no longer very common.

Your second question in regard to 1 J - The last sentence was added as clarification. 2 wheels on the track remains the rule, unless otherwise specified in the event specific rules.

On your last question - You'll want to double check with Sphinx. But I think since you have a new PSN ID, you'll need to submit a new qualifying run.

Thanks EDK for the answers I was seeking.
You can expect plenty of common sense from me, I generally observe my opposition's driving and/or brake earlier before driving in their personal space. I don't race to win at all, I race in a car I enjoy using and just enjoy driving it, so I have no reason to go crazy. I am quite patient too, I've sat behind 1st/2nd place many times for a couple of laps before being able to exploit small errors and been able to overtake on the final corner some times even. Other times I have not been able to make that final move, and it doesn't bother me at all, I just relish the close battle.

You didn't get an answer by "other ways" because you didn't follow the very simple instructions that were sent to you:

If you have any questions regarding the GTP OLR Rules & Guidelines, then please direct your questions to the GTP_Registry Discussions thread:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=105368

Everyone else who had questions followed this very clear and simple instruction, whereas out of the 380+ members who received notice of the new GTP OLR Rules & Guidelines you were the only one who thought it best to send me a PM.

You did the very thing I was trying to avoid. Well done.

Given that I was banned and had a new user but am the same racer I wasn't sure if I should publicly post something like that.
The OLR Rules thread said to post questions in the dedicated race thread, this isn't a dedicated race thread, in fact, this thread has nothing to do with racing and everything to do with the GTP Registry.
It's not my fault you can't post clear instructions, and it's not my fault you get you knickers in a knot over something so minimalistic. How about a reply message "can you please post in the GTP Registry discussion thread?"?

I didn't need to because I already asked you to:

It wouldn't be so minimalistic if the other 380+ members did the same as you.

I see you haven't changed your ways.

And where was that question in the GTP OLR Rules thread? I searched through for where to post questions, and that wasn't in there.

Edit: Just searched through both the OLR Rules and GTP Registry thread, it is said nowhere to post questions regarding OLR Rules in this thread. It does say this thread is about the GTP Registry and not to go off topic.

Right, so I post a simple question some place different to where was illegedly asked and this is some huge end of the world problem? What's wrong with that? And please tell me what I'm doing wrong here that makes you say I haven't changed my ways. Come on Sphinx, I'm just trying to enjoy online racing the correct way. This would be a bigger problem if I never asked at all and later found out my racing style was wrong, but no, you don't consider that at all.

It's simple,
I asked you via PM, like I did for the other 380 members, to direct any questions you had relating to the GTP OLR Rules & Guidelines to this thread. You sent your questions directly to me via PM, totally ignoring what's been clearly stated.

I don't know why I have to spell this out to you, but to minimise my workload there were other OLR Race Admins standing by to answer any questions posted here. If everyone sent their questions directly to me via PM, like you did, even after being asked to post here, then how on earth can they answer the bloody questions.

Well unfortunately that was on my old user and so I no longer have that message to refer to. On top of that, if I was a non-registry user I wouldn't ever have received it, what then? I can't recall every little detail I have taken in over the last few months, so that's not ignorance, that's just normal memory. What exactly do you have against me? And don't say a disregard for the rules, as clearly this is not the case any more.

Edit: I know about your workload, and I'm sorry I didn't ask one of the others, but as is already viewable EDK couldn't help me with one of my questions, and I had 2 to ask, the bigger of which at the time would have seemed off topic in any other thread. We all appreciate the work you put in.

I see where you're coming from now. I guess this is one of the pitfalls of getting oneself banned and thus throwing everything up in the air in terms of trying to keep things simple.

I apologise for the confusion.

Apology accepted.👍

So, now I'm in the right thread, may I ask ever so politely :sly:, will I need to register again with my new user? I'm happy to do so if I need to, as soon as I get my wheel back (my current one turned out to be defective and I'm waiting to get the new one under warranty).

Quick question, I apologize if it's stupid, do you have to participate in every race to stay in registry or do you have a choice wether you like( have the time for ) particular events ?
E.g. I didn't submit a time for the last event, because I didn't consider my runs clean ( not even nearly lol ).

No you don't have to participate in every event. Short and simple.:)

You can pick and choose which events you want to take part in.

will I need to register again with my new user?.

No, you won't. I will add your new tag to the registry.

Awesome, thanks.👍:D

Edit: In case you had forgotten, I was gold in division 3.:)

If I had the money, I would sponser Paulie and Sphinx for President of the United States - the debates you 2 have are much more entertaining and factual than anything we have seen here over the last few months - not to mention, they actually resolve things to an honest conclusion. :sly:

Sphinx, if you have your radar switched on.... what sort of process time are you estimating for qualifier entries? I'm guessing you're probably swamped with fresh submissions right now, so this isn't a get-a-move-on poke, just curious (and impatient obviously.) :)

The submissions will be processed well in advance of the next official GTP event. In the meantime, you may use your GTP tag in public events (since we have no control over that anyway).

Thanks mate... I've been using my GTP tag for 6 months anyway. I was on the registry before there was a qualifier and missed it the first time round :)

Please allow 7 days for your registration to be processed.

👍

:idea:embarrassed:K .. lets all chip in .. i'm sure the world will be a better place if Sphinx and Paulie were co-presidents of the USA .. except we'd all be driving Holdens :indiff: .. maybe not such a good idea after-all.

Courtney for the win! {next year}

Sphinx wouldn't allow that, he'd force me to let everyone have their own opinion.

I see you can pick and choose which events you want to be apart of, but I'm a bit confused on rule 03-A which states, "If for any reason you know prior to a race you’ll be unable to attend, please advise your Race Steward as soon as possible. If you fail to advise of your intention to be absent in sufficient time before the start of any two consecutive events, you run the risk of being excluded from future events."

Does this mean I have to say I'm not going to participate in an event every single time I don't wish to?

Well guys, I'm gonna get my PS3 monday so I'll be online now. I may not be able to get on monday, but I will be on.

I think (but that's only my opinion) that you can chose not to enter an event (unless a "mandatory event" is created in the future, and I think that's probable to happen from time to time, to keep the registry clean of inactive players). BUT ...

... if you indicate that you will participate in a particular event, you must show up to race it, or warn in advance if you can't, and that's what rule 3-a is about.

As an example, suppose you did the current event's stage 1 and you proceeded to stage 2. If you can't race stage 2 when it's scheduled, you must advise your race steward as written in that rule.

Again, I don't have any authority to say it's like what I wrote, but careful reading and common sense make me think I'm not wrong :) Surely a Race Admin will clear it up anyway 👍

Correct. 👍

Hey GTP, my first post :) Think im going to try to qualify for this.

I figured out how to make a new account and transfer my savegame but is it right that you have to log out and stay offline while you make your record?

Thats correct, It's so other people cant see your time, don't forget to save your best lap time and make sure you have read all the details of submission correctly before you PM Sphinx.
Good luck and welcome to GTP. 👍
