Maybe it will be a better idea to split the names into 3 groups - a group for each region (US, EU, JP), and within those groups sort it by the name.
I think that this way it will be easier to find the people from your region...:)

PLEASE MODs, DELETE THIS POST (SEEMS I DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO DO THAT) BECAUSE I'D ANOTHER ONE WITH THE SAME CONTENT BELOW.

Sorry it’s a bit late, Jerry as a lot of people already registered, but I would like to suggest that you also put the nationality behind the name.

Like this: GTP_NielsG(dk).

Not because I wan’t make any national contest or comparisons at all, but just to make it easier to identify people.

If you enter a race quickly it’s often hard to see and remember the full name of your co-racers. Often it’s like ” hmm… it was something along GTP_Sj???(nl)”. When you later check the names here it would be much easier to identify your co-racers from the list, if their nationality also is listed.

And as the GTP list is growing rapidly, the benefit of such a add-on to the list will also increase rapidly.

Say hello to a new one (as soon as Sphinx accept my PM): GTP_Aero-R

I use a PAL copy.

I think that's a good idea, yeah. But it could take some work because if you see, there are many post just to include 10 or 12 names per post. If Sphinx don't mind to take that work, I think it could be the best way to sort all the users as they have increased a lot. Anyway remember it's not a list of "region from where they are playing", it's a list of "regions of the copies they're using", just to make it clear because a few ones confuse it. But in additionl, the idea of NielsG is good too (the idea of add at the end of the name, the "[xx]" flag of the country on which they're playing if desired).

Hmm... Or else you could split it into PAL, NTSC and NTSC-J as yossigab said and then in that group have all the nationalities (Because as you said. It's a little to late for me to put (DK) behind my name)

I'm considering registering:) Will the official race events be starting up as soon as private lobbies are introduced or are there special time trial events ongoing at the moment?

Cheers in advance

There is a Time Trial qualifier (GTP PSN registered members only) coming soon. It's in the process of being tested at the moment, but I don't think it will be much longer. The qualifier will be the first stage of assessing driving ability so that divisions (and other things) can be created to enable drivers to compete at the same level of ability. The qualifier will be mandatory.

The current format of the registry will remain for now. It will be changed at some point in the future, but as yet, it's still undecided.

It might be reorganised into divisions though. :sly:

EDIT:

We reached 100 registered members yesterday. 👍👍

EDIT2:
Nice idea, Niels. it's certainly something worth thinking about. Cheers.

GTP_Nitrof1

I'll get it tonight but will use it when Private lobbies comes. as Jase said I got friends from here in my current psn id :/

Cool :scared: Conference League here I come.:)

If i'd have known about the time trial and divisions i would have called myself GTP_Accrington_Stanley..Great Idea Though...

LOL

The thing is though it doesn't matter what division you get into there will always be someone faster. That coupled with being of a competitive nature, we can only get better.

I Think :nervous:

This actually brings up a good question.

Sphinx, if we get better than the division we are initially slated to after the time trial thing will there be a ranking up process or whatever to a division that you are now equivelant to?

I would assume so, but was just curious. I just imagine some NA members not having as much practice as EU and JPN players and over time getting better at handling the new physics and learning the tracks and whatnot.

Fast in time trials dose not a good racer nessisarily make.

True. But I guess that's the easiest way to sort out division as things stand right now with regards to GT5Ps somewhat poor online setup.

Then when we get into racing thats when good racers will no doubt go up through the divisions.

That and I am sure that the WRS style rules will apply, which eliminates a large amount of cheap tactics. And any questionable times will have to be proven more than likely.

Yeah I guess Sphinx and the rest of the guys who run the WRS are going to have a lot of replays to look at.

Not to mention answering all the "How do I get my replay online?" questions.

I don't think the PS3 will let you copy a replay file to a USB drive, but I haven't tried yet.

You can copy the saves onto a usb drive.
I did this to send some replays to a fellow GTP member who couldn't get his PS3 hooked up to the net.

Just zipped em up and e-mailed them. Works fine

never a truer word said mate! Its easy driving a car on a track when there is only yourself for competition. Throw in a gaggle of maniacs, and you will struggle to finish!

Cudadude channels Yoda! Well done.

I've been running WRS GT4 time trials off and on for over a year now. The biggest advantage with GT5P time trials online is the ability to run against the ghost cars of the top ten on the leaderboard.

I may not be able to find the fastest line on my own, but give me someone to shadow and it all falls into place. It feels a bit like cheating, but it's similar to racing with others on-track, I can see what they are doing and adjust.

Hey Ren-Tec, you wouldn't have gone off if I didn't force you wide! 👍

Darn Lotus plows the nose under acceleration.

Just one of them things bud, i knew it was gonna be hard to keep it wide and say on. Thats racing for ya, hit and miss. Sometimes you win and others you don't ;)

I just made my sub account and will send the info in now! till then I will play on my normal account till its approved. try to join
you guys up tonight, look out for user *Jureidini.

I had a good race today for the brief moment I came online with GTP_TheMoose. He went off and that messed up the fun but he gave me a great run for it!

btw offtopic but I need a bit of assistance......the game keeps saying "Check date and time settings" when I start up, should I reset the settings in the console to set time from the internet?
thanks in advance!

hmmm thanks, but this is strange.

I just set it to internet, and activated daylight savings. (I am now living in South Florida so thats correct). Yet my game still says April 4...............
